Time for a QOTD to liven up a dull and boring Monday........

Your Fairy Godmother gives you $500, with the stipulation that you must use it towards something special or "extra" for your trip. What would you use it for?

Upgrade your resort? Add on a special activity? Take the family out to a fancy restaurant? Rent a limo to get to and from the airport? Buy extra souvenirs?

Or ...... ?

Upgrade the resort definitely!! (Or add another night). That was an easy question to answer! :-)

I would add an extra special activity like a Fireworks Cruise or upgrade to a CL room. Now I'm daydreaming at work again. 99 days to go! :)

I would use it for either a fire works cruise or dining with an imagineer or animal expert. Those were all on my list of possibilities this trip, but after your last QOTD, I'm sure you can see why they didn't make it! Lol.

Take the kids on the Pirates & Pals Fireworks Voyage, Wishes Dessert Party with my sister and DD, and I REALLY want to do the hot air balloon at DTD. Anything left over would go towards souvenirs.
I threw all these ideas out to my husband and he said "We can't afford it all now. We'll do some stuff next time". At least that means there will be a next time!

I always have lots of ideas (I tend to overthink things by nature :rotfl:) so there's very rarely an easy answer to ANY question for me!!!

Daydreaming at work? :scratchin Hey, me too! :goodvibes Hence the QOTD! (don't tell the boss.....shhhhhhh! :rotfl2:)

Sorry about that :flower3: . I was telling my DH about the QOTD and he prompty said "Don't tell me what its costing.....I don't want to know. I just want to go and have a dang good time. As long as its all paid for, I don't want to know what the end total is". :lmao:

The hot air balloon at DTD has been offered for half price through Groupon at least a couple of times in the past few months. If it shows up again, I will post it here so you'll know. I am terrified of heights :crazy2: so it doesn't appeal to me in the slightest, but it would be soooo cool if I was a little less chicken :upsidedow .

Hmmmm....
Good question. Nothing jumps to mind immediately which probably means I've planned the trip I want so that's nice. If I had to pick I would say rent the cabana for one of our waterpark days or spend the $500 shopping at the outlets with dd;)

For us, I think it would be a day at Wet N Wild with a cabana rental, Express Pass, and the whole gamut of extras.

DH & DS are huge waterpark lovers. We have already done Aquatica, and both Disney waterparks are the focus of this trip. So W&W would be the final missing link in our Florida waterpark adventures.

Of course, a day at Discovery Cove would also be hard to turn down...........:rolleyes2

See, I told you I overthink things. I have a hard time even making up my mind on a hypothetical question! :lmao:

Ooooooooooooohhhhhhhhh, a Disney waterpark cabana. Yup, I'd like that too! :thumbsup2 .

Since you guys are the August experts, I was wondering how many days you think is a safe amount for a couple with out kids? My bf and I will be there Aug 18-22nd and while I know no time will ever be enough, does this seem reasonable? We should be able to plenty (and still allow my bf all the time by the pool that he seems to need so badly)right?

Some dinner shows and souvenirs. DH wants to do water parks too.

Probably a night at a monorail resort for one of our MK days. I would love to be able to justify the cost of staying at the Contemporary but I really can't. I know it would be awesome to see Wishes from our room or just wake up and roll onto the monorail to get to MK though.

Easy question for me. I have planned a trip that I'm super excited for, but I'm going all out... NO REST DAY! I would add another day and plan to do.... nothing! Except for sleeping in, shopping at DTD and swimming at the resort.

I would definitely add another night! Or pay for the extra night we just added actually! Now where is that Fairy Godmother????? :rotfl2:

I am thinking of adding a night specifically for that reason!!

Ooooooooooooohhhhhhhhh, a Disney waterpark cabana. Yup, I'd like that too! :thumbsup2 .

They are so stupidly expensive though:sad:. I just can't justify the $316.00 it would cost.

Now if you had asked this question about my December trip I'd have quite a few answers. That one is more expensive and could easily get out of hand. I want party tickets, candlelight processional package, 2 days onsite at Universal, Hoop Dee Doo (my little guys favourite). There's no way to do it all though.

Yes! Actually, can I transfer those $500 Fairy God-mother dollars to my Disney cruise?? I would LOVE a cabana rental on Castaway Cay for the day, but at $500 for a cabana, there is no way that is happening! We are getting one for our resort day at Poly, but they are surprisingly much less expensive.

We are big cabana folks (as you probably already know). We have rented cabanas at both Aquatica and Discovery Cove, and even had one at Great Wolf Lodge once. I had always thought the DC cabana, which came with all sorts of neat stuff like a t-shirt, photo frame, underwater camera, sling pack, 6 x 8 photo (and more) was a big splurge at $229. This is cheap in comparison to Disney. And you know what I always found worse? The Disney cabanas don't even have walls or sides to close up when you want some privacy. You would think, for over $300 a day, they'd have sides AND a TV.

Oh Lord.......$500 for a day ?!?! :faint: Just when I thought it couldn't be any worse than the BB or TL cabanas !

Great QOTD!

Hm.....I'm already doing a bunch of special things for my honeymoon....

I would probably spend a day at Discovery Cove on our non-disney day. It sounds like such a great experience!

Looks like nobody has responded to this yet. That definitely sounds like a good amount. Of course, I prefer at least 7 days at Disney (I'm also 1 half of a couple without kids) but to each her own! Is this your first time to the World? Do you plan on going to all 4 parks? You will have more than enough to do if you go to 1 park a day. Time at the pool depends on how much time you plan to spend in the parks and whether you need to "do it all".

This will be our second time there, but last time we only had 2 days. We do want to do all the parks. I'm not so concerned with pool time and am even thinking about just going to the parks by myself if he wants to hang back and relax. I know that we'll be back so while it won't be the end of the world if we don't "do it all" i'd like to do as much as possible ::yes::
