I think I'm going to have to just go with a AAA discount for now - it drives me crazy waiting for deals!
I know, it is really hard to wait for deals to come out. The first half of the current special offer expires next week, and the second half expires at the end of this month, so we may see new offers shortly!

Hey! We are going in August. 12th-16th and will be staying at the AKL!

The Question Of The Day Is......

What is your #1 favorite ride? For those that haven't been, what ride are you most looking forward to going on?

I would have to go with The People Mover. It is the first ride we hit every trip and it just screams "You're Here!" to me.

Big Thunder Mountain is my favorite ride for nostalgic reasons. I have pictures and vivid memories of myself on it as a child at Disneyland. My oldest thinks it's too wimpy, but it was my first roller coaster for a reason and I will always love it!

My favorite ride is Splash Mtn. Mostly because it's the one I remember best from going as a child.

Thunder Mountain, best memmories as a kid. Looking forward to riding it with my kids.

We just need to liven this thread up! (Although a time machine would be nice!)

How about a question of the day..... What are you most looking forward to this trip?

As for me, I can't wait to finally go on rides with dh. With 4 kids, we always have to divide and conquer so we've never been able to ride anything sitting beside one another. I also can't wait to be able to go to some of the amazing restaurants and really enjoy it since we won't be distracting kids or cutting up food, etc.

Looking forward to staying at AKL for the first time. Also, looking forward to having everyone healthy. Our last trip, everyone in our family was sick for all but one day :(

#1 favorite ride is "Tower of Terror," but" It's A Small World" holds a special place in my heart too.

My favourite ride at the parks is Big Thunder Mountain. I'm not much of a ride girl (I honestly don't like being shaken, dropped, spun around, jostled or otherwise freaked out :rolleyes1) but this one, I grew to love on our last Disney trip :thumbsup2 .

This trip, I am looking most forward to the wave pool at Typhoon Lagoon. I have a feeling its going to be my happy place! :woohoo:

How many of you make your ADR's then play with them, tweak them, change them over & over again??? I had them set at 180 days out..then ran it by my family who weren't thrilled with all the times/choices, so I have made more and changed others. I am now doubled up on some days until I run them by my family...again! ;) So far, these are the plans:

8/17 6:45 Raglan RD (DH, me and 2 dear friends that live in Orlando)
8/18 6:00 Restaurant Marakesh (DD & SIL Anniversary)
8/19 9:55 Chef Mickey's
8/20 9:35 Kona
7:00 Wolfgang Puck (DIL Birthday)
8/21 12:15 Akershus Princess Lunch (DD, GD & me)
6:00 & 7:10 at Boma (Need to decide on time)
8/22 12:45 Yak & Yeti
8/23 1:40 Sci-Fi Diner OR
5:00 Mama Melrose Fantasmic Package
8/24 9:35 Ohana's

I still need to decide on reservation for Sunday for DH & myself as we are there longer than the kids.I am just not sure to do lunch or dinner. :confused3

Has to be Small World for me - classic Disney, love the song, it's how I know I've arrived!!

Although I love pretty much everything in MK, and am more than a little sad that I can't ride Snow White again.:sad2:

Oh that's difficult... its a tie for me, between the haunted mansion and tower of terror! :lovestruc

I'm looking forward to that too! When we went last December, I had to cancel 4 or 5 dining reservations and we had to cancel 2 park days as my dh got the flu. Then my son got a stomach virus, then the kids got the flu, etc. It was still fun and even being stuck in the room in Disney was better than being sick at home, but still....terrible timing!

I had to postpone my trip, only by a week though, so all is good! My grandma offered me her aeroplan points to use for my flight, and the only availability for a time we could go was August 20th. So now we are going August 20th-26th, still in the same resort. The crowd calendar puts the week we will be there now at a 4-5 which is great!
I still have to update our ADR's, so I will post my new ones when I make them.
DBF got his first taste of Disney tonight, when I had him call to switch our hotel ressie, after he got off the phone he couldn't get over how nice the cast member was.

We are part of Team August on a bounceback offer as well. Staying at French Quarter August 19-Sept 1.

Just recently passed our 180 ... booked our flights, booked our dining, now we just have to WAIT!!!

Would love to get one of the Lime Green Mickey Heads so I can put it on my knapsack.

Thanks for the info! I knew there were pins sent out a while ago, I was just hoping there was a new round - so I could start stalking my mailman ;)

I think I'm going to have to just go with a AAA discount for now - it drives me crazy waiting for deals!

It doesn't hurt to call and see if you have a pin attached to your name. We had one tied to our name and we didn't know:)

I have now read the ENTIRE thread and I'm really disappointed I never got to see the rooster curtains....

Our ADRs
8/25 7:15pm Chef Mickeys
8/26 5:15pm Crystal Palace
8/27 5:15pm Akershus
8/28 8am 1900 Park Fare
8/28 7:30pm Rainforest Cafe
8/29 9:30am Ohana
8/30 5:45pm CRT

Question: My husband is not interested in Akershus or CRT :confused3 so I'm going to book a different place for him to eat with my dad. My husband is just home from a deployment and is not super great with crowds (so of course Disney World is a super great place to go :rotfl2: ) Does anyone have suggestions where he could enjoy a more relaxed meal? He doesn't want a buffet (too many people getting up and down) or sharing a table with strangers. We would need one in Epcot (while I have my kids at Akershus) and the other can be anywhere (we'll be in AK during the day, but I'll be park hopping to MK with my kids for CRT, so he can go wherever he pleases.)

Thanks!

I have to say that my husband is the same way. I swear Disney, especially Magic Kingdom, makes his PTSD act up. But he muddles through for me and the kids! He liked Rose & Crown last trip, but he also likes most any place he can get a beer! ;) We are going to try Via Napoli next trip. Actually his favorite part of Disney is the food so we're doing the DxDP to appease him. Raglan Road at DTD is another favorite of his. (However, they're kind of similar, but the food at Rose & Crown is much more traditional pup fare while Raglan Road is more creative and upscale I think.) Nine Dragons always seems quiet or San Angel? I asked him and he just shook his head. He goes with the flow as much as possible!

I know this is the question from yesterday, but I didn't see a new question for today, so I'm answering this one. We love the People Mover as well. My 5 year old loves it because she wan't big enough for space mountain, but she still got to go in and see it because of the People Mover! It's also a nice relaxing ride to take a break. Although, we almost never ride it in the day time, this is always one of our last things to do!

I would probably recommend LeCellier for Epcot and Liberty Tree Tavern for MK. We didn't feel rushed at either and, at least for us, the tables we received were situated nicely apart from other tables.

, but I didn't see a new question for today,

You are right! Hope no one minds me putting one out there. If you could stay at any resort, which would it be? I have always dreamed about Grand Floridian. Love the exterior and the monorail convenience!

Excellent question!
I would really love to stay at the BC. Then I would definitely get park hoppers and eat at Epcot everyday! I just love Epcot! It would be so cool to be so close!
