We are on the dining plan. I am not so interested in the food, just want to be inside the castle and don't feel like waiting in line a half hour for a quick service meal.

This is kinda how I felt too. I went back and forth over if we should do a qs lunch or a ts dinner. I think this is what made me do dinner. We are on the dining plan, so I don't mind the extra "cost", but mostly I didn't want to stand in line forever waiting for quick service. If we end up with a reservation later in our trip, we may try and see how the line is, and if it is tolerable, then I may cancel our reservation later in the week. We shall see :)

Glad to know it's not just me! I was starting to wonder what I'm missing! Last trip we went with our four kids, and we were there during Fantasyland grand opening weekend so the line-up was ridiculous so we didn't bother. I'm hoping it won't be so crazy by August, and it'll just be dh and I this trip so if we have to stand in line for a bit it's not a big deal since we won't have 4 whining kids with us.

I was good with BOG as a CS Lunch, that was until I realized Brown Derby was 2 TS credits and that I wasn't going to be able to eat there....:sad2:
Then I really wanted to have dinner at BOG, I really really wanted to have that experience.
On the bright side there's a Brown Derby in Albany NY and DH was taking me there for our 17th anniversary in April that is until I just googled it and found out that it closed in August!
BOG Here I Come!!

Am I the only one who's not interested in trying BOG for dinner? I saw some pictures of the food and looked at the menu and it just didn't seem worth it to me?

If I was doing an adult trip I think I'd try for the dinner ressie. However, with 2 LOs who live on chicken nuggets, it just didn't make sense this time. It doesn't hurt that we're going without the dining plan this time and I have to prove to DH that we'll save $$ paying out of pocket. :thumbsup2

I added the times ;).
7/30 Prime Time Cafe 6:30
7/31 Hoop De Doo (our first time !) 4pm
8/1 Via Napoli. 4:30
8/2 Boma 7:35
8/3 Rose and Crown 6:00
8/4 BOG!!!!!! 5:00
8/5 Raglan Road 7:45
8/6 The Wave.(though we'd give this a try) 5:30
8/7 Brunch at Cape May 9:45

:)

I just got my BOG for 8/27 at 6:55pm which is exactly what I wanted so, no more chef mickeys and BOG instead which makes all my plans complete!

For now.....

I just saw this thread! We are booked for August 15-22. Six of us in my family--hubs & me, Son 16, Daughter 12, Daughter 10, Son, 5 (will be 6 when we go). Staying off property at Reunion. We stayed there two trips ago, and it was gorgeous, relaxing, and close enough but far enough. Cannot wait to get back!

Our ADRs thus far are:

8/17--CRT, 6:45 PM (celebrating 19th anniversary & taking the Princes & Princesses with us!) :0)
8/18--Rose & Crown, 1:00 PM
8/19--Hollywood & Vine, 8:05 AM
8/20--Yak & Yeti,11:30 AM; Chef Mickey's 6:45 PM
8/21--Crystal Palace, 8:40 AM

Still trying for a BOG on the 17th or 21st. Also I'm just keeping on trying to see if I can get any earlier at the Crystal Palace, but if not, it's still before park opening.

So, that's all the OCD planning I've done so far!! :0) Looking forward to reading everyone's plans!! So glad there are other disney addicts, errr--enthusiasts! like me who love to plan and dream!!

So excited I have time today to do some serious planning :dance3:

Work has been insane since the first of the year (I'm an accountant, and although I don't do taxes, I've needed to prepare all my clients for their audits and tax prep) - I'm finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel! And now I can spend some of the money I've made on Disney ;)

I think we've changed resorts again - were originally planning 4 nights at CSR and 3 nights Poly CL, but we're all dying to spend more time at the Poly, so I've changed to 2 nights at Pop and 5 nights at Poly CL. Now if I could just get one of those pin codes, maybe we could spend the whole week at the Poly?? :worship: That would be my dream come true :goodvibes:

I completely agree! We ultimately canceled our BOG reservation because there wasn't anything our 2, almost 3, year old would eat. He is extremely picky despite my best efforts! :( I figured even though we don't pay for him, he wouldn't eat off my plate and there was nothing for him to eat OOP, except a cupcake! :rotfl2: So we'll eat elsewhere and hopefully try it out on another trip. Praying he doesn't stay this picky forever! :scared1:

Obviously I'm more or a lurker (this is my first post!) but I'm officially ready to join the fun!:goodvibes
I've booked a Cars suite at AoA for Aug 25-31st! It'll be my DH, DD4, and DS1 going for their first times! We're also taking my sister who hasn't been since she was 5, and my dad who hasn't been since '95. My last trip was POP in May of '07 and I loved it, but this trip is super special since it's our first official family vacation! I can't wait for them to experience the magic! pixiedust:

We had to change the dates of our trip because the airfare was much less expensive to fly in on July 30th than to go out that following weekend so we shifted by a few days... we are in POR from 7/30 to 8/6... still hoping for a promotion or discount, but we did book DDP as well for this trip although we were back-and-forth before we actually booked. Next thing to do... ADRs - although I feel like I am already behind the 8-ball on that being 150 days out. So much we want to do - time to make decisions. :)

Yay! :welcome: You will love the Cars suites! We stayed in one in December and loved it! The theming is perfection! The whole resort is so fun! Congrats on your first family vacation!

Made my first ADR today :cheer2: (not that we are making many......but we do have a couple of Disney restaurants we want to eat at while in Orlando).

We have Planet Hollywood reserved for 7 pm on Wednesday, August 28th.

I have also promised my boys their favourite, 'Ohana, for breakfast. There's a couple of days yet before I can make that reservation for August 30th. And we may even toss in one more character breakfast at Garden Grove or Cape May. Decisions, decisions :scratchin.

You can make that reservation now, I made mine all the way up until Sept 3rd on Monday.

So, I was going through my old Disney Stuff and I found a old Epcot World Showcase passport, which got me wondering, do they still do anything like this?

I know there is Agent p's adventure but this was a nice free souvenir from the parks that I obviously still have.

And does anyone one have any good ideas as to make the time go faster, I am currently working on a time machine to have it be August already, but it seems so far away.

If you think of anything please let me know. The days are passing so slow. At least spring is almost here!

We just need to liven this thread up! (Although a time machine would be nice!)

How about a question of the day..... What are you most looking forward to this trip?

As for me, I can't wait to finally go on rides with dh. With 4 kids, we always have to divide and conquer so we've never been able to ride anything sitting beside one another. I also can't wait to be able to go to some of the amazing restaurants and really enjoy it since we won't be distracting kids or cutting up food, etc.

YAY! QUESTION OF THE DAY!!! ( I love this stuff)
I'm soooo looking forward to playing all day for 7 days. To seeing the magic on my kids faces. And to seeing MK & World Showcase and all I remember from so long ago. It's been 28 years after all!

That sounds nice! I hope this trip is extra magical!

I'm looking forward to the Pirates & Pals fireworks voyage, my little one's excitement over the monorail (since he asks to ride it everyday!) and Wilderness Lodge for the first time! Oh, and all the food!

You're going to have so much fun!!!! I went when I was 11, then our first family trip in 2011 (I was 28). It was AMAZING! It was nothing like I remembered, everything was bigger, better and even more magical. Let alone getting to experience everything with those you love most in the world.... pure amazing-ness!

Looking forward to BOG for lunch and finally touring new Fantasyland

Me too!!! Here's hoping the lines not crazy long, that french onion soup has my name on it!

Thanks, I'm sure it's going to be great! We haven't had an alone trip in a couple years, and being alone in WDW has been my dream ever since our first trip so I can't wait! The food is definitely high up on my list too, I've been dreaming of Le Cellier mushroom risotto and filet, and Starring Rolls cupcakes, and turkey legs, and Peco's Bills' burgers and fixins.... I could go on and on and on!

You can make that reservation now, I made mine all the way up until Sept 3rd on Monday.

Maybe its because I'm not staying onsite? When I tried to make the reservation, I got a message popping up that indicated I was trying to book for a date that was more than 180 days out.
