We don't do tours or special events but we do love to eat. For this trip we have TS plans at:

Mama Melrose
Be Our Guest (don't hate me!)
Teppan Edo
Boma
Raglan Road
Chef Mickey's (breakfast)

Only CM and TE are repeats, the rest are new to us for this trip. You can probably see our park of the day based on our ADRs LOL. I'm really hoping we like Mama Melrose because we haven't really liked any other TS restaurant at DHS... it's about to become a leave for dinner situation. Raglan Road was supposed to be T-Rex but I couldn't get T-Rex. Later I found out I could have called them directly and probably gotten something but by then people had sold me on RR so, we'll see how that goes.

We were at DTD for a day in May and were able to walk up to T-Rex for lunch without ADRs around 12:30. The app on my phone was showing no availability, so you may still be able to do that. That said, the food was good, but it was LOUD - as in headache loud. We are also trying RR this trip for the first time. That will probably also be loud, but loud music I can handle...a dinosaur roaring every ten minutes and drowning out my conversation, not so much!

I "hear" ya LOL. One of the reasons we stuck with RR is because there might be a dancing/musical event during dinner. My daughter is a guitar player who lives for music and loves irish dancing. She has ADHD and tends to be tough to please on vacation (we never seem to be doing what she wants when she wants to do it) so we like to add in things designed around her to help things along.

Welcome!!! RR was a very enjoyable dinner when we went in 2011 and i still hope to go again this trip but since we're not on the dining plan we're trying to keep TS meals to a minimum.

I finally ordered my UT tickets on Wed. night!!!!!! :) But, yesterday remembered I forgot to use my Mousesavers discount. :( Left a message with UT last night, hoping they can still save me the $140!!!!

Love UT! Just got a phone call from them, and they're going to credit me the discount!! <3

I don't know how I missed this thread but better late than never I guess. We will be there Aug 5-14. Can't wait!!!!

That's good to hear! Indirectly, I know people use UT and like them, but I don't hear much direct feedback about them. I just signed up for the MouseSavers newsletter. We haven't had the need to use UT because we usually book under a special offer, but if offers will be fewer and far between in the future, we may need to start considering UT for tickets!

Had a crazy experience yesterday. Our friend that is coming with us told us that she's going to bring $600 in spending cash JUST FOR OUR KIDS! I about fell out of my chair when she told me this. I told her she didn't have to do that as we don't normally spend nearly that much on the whole family for souvenirs and just slightly more than that for everything, including BBB (which we aren't doing on this trip,) tips, etc. She insisted on doing it since she has no kids of her own.

After that I was telling her about the photopass that we were ordering and she wanted to know how much to chip in for that. I told her we've got that covered, especially in light of the money she's paying for the room and now the spending money for the kids. We would've gotten the PP+ anyways so it's no problem to throw her on that.

Speaking of pictures I'm going to hit up Costco today and get the waterproof camera and if all goes well I'll test it out tonight at my friend's pool. We're off traveling for the week so I may be sparse for a few days. Hope everyone has a great week/weekend!

We used UT for our Universal trip in January 2012. A great experience, and we would definitely use them again!

I thought 250 was the limit, but we're still here at 251. :confused3

Staying at POR, we love it there. We haven't stayed anywhere else. I would love to stay at the Poly or Beach Club but the wallet isn't full enough for that.

QOTD: It's Father's Day weekend. What plans do you have for the Fathers in your lives?

We're heading up north to visit with my in-laws. I'll be pretty worn out from the 20 hour drive the day before though so hoping it's low key. I'd like to get to church, have a nice lunch and fall asleep on the couch watching the race. :lmao:

We got dh some gifts he will like and will make him breakfast in bed Sunday. I think he and ds are taking his dad to the car races on Saturday night and I'll be going to have dinner with my dad on Sunday night:)

My DH is working nights all weekend (tonight through Monday morning :sad1:) so we celebrated him with a Fathers Day dinner at his favourite local restaurant last night. His gift is a combo Fathers Day/birthday trip to Toronto and Great Wolf Lodge at the end of the month, as he celebrates his 42nd birthday on the 28th. So he has to wait two weeks to enjoy his present :) .

My dad lost his battle with cancer in October 2010. I will visit his grave over the weekend, as I do quite regularly. He was the kindest, most loving man I have ever met, and I miss him with every fibre of my being. My comfort is that I firmly believe that I will meet him again someday when my own time on earth has ended. And you can bet he'll get the longest and tightest hug ever from his "baby girl".

To all you dads out there, I hope you are honoured and celebrated to the fullest! :flower3:
