Hehehe. You sound like me! I promised I wouldn't't change the resort side of things so I've been tweaking ADRs the past couple of days...

Of the following, which is/are your favorite?

Kona
Raglan Road
50's Primetime

Enjoy the extra long weekend!! DS has 2 more days of school after Memorial Day due to snow days...But I am done for the week. :-)

All good choices in my book! We've only done Kona for breakfast because dh loves Ohana for dinner so I never want to go back to the Poly for a second meal. I've heard the dinner menu is good though.

Raglan Road was a lot of fun. However it was loud! We were the table that is right up against the stage though and I think it was just where we were sitting. The kids liked it and it and I would go back:)
And 50's Prime Time was hilarious. The food is basic but enjoyable and the waitstaff were great. The only problem I had here is it gets really backed up during free dining and the wait was long. But there's a lot to look inside the waiting/lounge area. It wasn't too bad.

My son has to go until June 14!! I really hate his school system, but such is the military life, you go where you're told.

On a similar note, we are hoping we can get orders and move this November (earlier if possible, but unlikely) then the kids can get in a new school. Next year my daughter starts kindergarten so we have a bunch of changes after the trip! :)

I just keep messing with my ADRs!!! I think Disney has gotten at least 5 more ADRs out of me because I keep checking for the Dessert Party in August!! When I do that, I figure "hey, I'm already here, wonder if I can do something else!!!!" :lmao: I just looked at Josh's site for crowd levels again and TWO of my MK days are now RED--my first day is one of them!! :confused3 ARGGGGG I don't want to change them--although I've toyed with the idea of doing so. But I KNOW if I change those two its going to change others and I have ADR's to consider!! Oh my GOSH I'm tired!!

DSs school was over this week. But, since he has been on homebound for most of this semester, he still has math to make up. Grades have to be turned in by 6/28 so I HOPE he can just get it together by then!!! I don't want him to be behind going into his senior year!

Uh oh.. I better check the crowd calendars. Switching a park day starts a chain of ADR destruction. It's never as simple as I think it's going to be. However we are trying not to get hoppers this trip so I'd like to make sure I am in the best parks on my park days.

Here the kids get out the last week of June and go back the day after Labour day. I was talking to a teacher about this recently and saying how rough it is that a lot of the Elementary schools have no air conditioning. She said that if we did they would do year round school here likely and we'd have longer breaks through the year but no real summer. That would be hard for working parents. June 27th is late to get out of school but I do prefer one 8 or 9 week break.

There are some school districts in St. Louis that go year round. I live in Illinois and I don't think there are any districts near me that do that. It would be hard for working parents. I guess it won't really affect me at all since this is Josh's last year. It will be a different experience to not have to worry about a school calendar before planning our vacations!! But I guess I have at least 5 more years, as he plans to go to college after his last year of high school this year!!

Geez, I thought the 14th was late, but June 27 seems super late!! My little sister in Iowa gets out the last day of may. That's more what I'm used to :)

It's been this way since I was a little girl so I think we're just used to it. I know June and September can be miserable for the teachers and kids though with 25 hot and sweaty kids in a room with no air conditioning. July and August would be worse I suppose.
We have to have 194 school days in our calendar. By the time summer comes it's only about 8 weeks. Between a few weeks of summer camps, and our big trip at the end of the summer it goes in the blink of an eye!

That "blink of an eye" thing SCARES me!! I can't BELIEVE my DS is ALREADY 17--where did THAT time go???? And although I am SO EXCITED about our August trip to WDW, I certainly don't want to wish his last summer before senior year away. This will be the first year he hasn't gone to summer school. Time is just going TOO TOO fast!!!

Just wanted to share. This semester was really tough for me, health issues, tough classes, life... So, although I gave my best effort, my school work suffered a bit.

HOWEVER. Two of my grades have been posted so far -- B+ and A. I am THRILLED! The other two classes I have to wait for still. But anyway -- yay! :cool1:  :woohoo:

LOL. I have multiple dinner ADRs on a couple nights until I decide which to do! I've looked at Touring Plans and the crowd levels seem to be about the same...most days are good for MK and bad for HS for some reason...?

Oh I hear you!! I spend a lot of time lately wanting time to just sloooow down! I have a 16 year old all of a sudden. I can see myself sitting with her brushing her hair and putting it in pig tails like it was yesterday. It goes so fast:worried:.
However for me.. that's why these trips are so important. It's time away where it's just the 4 of us having a blast and enjoying eachother. Priceless.:goodvibes

Good for you!!! I bet you are so relieved! Dh has been in his program for 3 years. We're nearing the end and I know how stressful it is. So worth it in the end though and we're getting close. He'll graduate in December:)

THAT . . . is AWESOME!!!! Congrats!!!! :cool1:

Same here!!! And the fact that my DS still wants to go to Disney with me and his grandma just makes it more special!! He is actually trying to get some of his friends to go in May for their Senior Trip--the same time we are there of course. They will all be 18, so they can get their own rooms!!

Thanks everybody! The real reason I am psyched, not to jinx myself, is that these grades are from classes I was most worried about. The other grades I have a pretty good idea what I'm getting, and it should be good. Hope I'm right!

Absolutely, and well said! Besides, if it says on my tombstone "Good Worker" and "Met Societies Expectations" I will have failed. The most important thing we can do is bond with the people we love when we can, and not take it for granted. It goes by so very fast, and every moment is precious.

ITA!!! I LOVE that my kids still want to go to WDW with me. I was talking about WDW with some co-workers last week and a fellow nurse said she used to go to WDW when she was a child but that now she is over it:scared1:

I understand Disney is not for everyone but I pray my kids never get "over" WDW out where they don't feel the need to return.

Not happening with my dd. She already talks about when she's grown up and I've purchased DVC and bringing her kids:rotfl2:
Ds.. well I guess it remains to be seen. Disney might be uncool for awhile when he's older, but it's been such a huge part of his upbringing I can't see him turning away from it completely. Disney is kind of like the family cottage..well except at a family cottage there wouldn't be 250,000 people and 4 theme parks:rotfl:

new to this thread....... haven't officially booked but I'm going to this week! :cool1: I'm having anxiety because I'm used to booking a year+ out and having all that time to obsess/plan. But we just came back from our big family WDW trip last month and probably won't (entire family) go back 'til 2015 and while in the throes of a severe bout of Post Disney Depression/Disney Withdrawal, I decided that I simply CAN.NOT wait that long to go back, and that I *must* go for my b-day in August -- withOUT the kids! And in case that wasn't enough to convince DH (not a uber-fan like we all are) I threw in that since I'm newly a TA and can get a decent resort rate, I simply *must* take advantage of my discount. ;) :thumbsup2 So it will be just DH and I at I think the Yacht Club!!

I have so much to plan, my head is spinning but I don't want to officially start planning until airfare and hotel is booked but I already have all kinds of things running through my head --- park plans, tours, ADRs, etc. Ugh! This is going to be a trip of firsts - first time doing certain restaurants, shows, tours. Must. Start. Planning. We'll probably just do 4 nts. so not a whole lot of time ( :( ) but I'm thinking my must-dos are (in no particular order):

Cape May Cafe for dinner
Fantasmic
Keys to the Kingdom tour
Boardwalk area

that's all I can think of right now. I need to just book so I can get going already.
