“IF THIS IS A DREAM, I DON’T WANT TO WAKE UP!” – POP! Goes The Solo Trip **THE END**

THE MOST EMOTIONAL, MEMORABLE, UNBELIEVEABLY WONDERFUL,
PERFECTLY MAGICAL MOMENT IN TIME... EVER!
Day 4 – April 30, 2013 Part 1

One of the main differences for me of being on a solo trip was I didn’t plan everything out beforehand.
Normally I’m in a group, so everyone looks to me for the agenda of the day.

This time, I was free-wheeling and fancy-free and I had no target destination as I awoke on day 4.

As it turned out, this would be the day a Trip Report gets its title.

Unfortunately, I awoke to some pretty heavy rain.

So I made the decision to head to MGM since it’s the smallest park physically, and it’s easy to find cover if needed.

As luck would have it, by the time I arrived, the rain had stopped, but it had rained hard enough to keep people away for the time being.

Since I had missed it a couple night’s prior, my first stop was RNRC.

01.jpg

Before long I was in the pre-show (and tucked up against the door so I would the first one out).

02.jpg

03.jpg

I usually enjoy the pre-shows the first time each trip. After that it gets pretty tedious.

That said, this one was actually a little different than any I had seen before thanks to a very keen CM.

Every time the “manager” talked about the “car”, the CM would insert “rollercoaster” over the intercom.
She had me in stitches.

Finally, we were led “outside” to our waiting limo (rollercoaster).

06.jpg

”Hmmmm, Did I leave the stove on?”

Since the line was still short, I headed around for one more run.

07.jpg

”Ah who cares… I’M ON VACATION!”

Having finally gotten my RnR on, I headed over to Tower next door, which still only had a 5 minute wait.
The earlier rain was paying off.

I hadn’t used Fastpass at all today so I figured I may as well use one for Toy Story since nobody else ever does.

So that’s where I headed.

On my way to Pixar Place, I passed a commercial in the process of being filmed…

11.jpg

12.jpg

Hosted by Disney’s newest fairy… Propaganda.

I overheard some of the dialog and realized it was some (unknown) company’s convention promo, so I lost interest, and continued on to retrieve my Fastpass.

13.jpg

As you are all aware, these are more valuable than currency… and possibly some small countries.

Fastpass in hand, and having a few hours to kill before it could be used; I went back to Sunset, grabbing a photo of Miss Propaganda from the other side on my way.

14.jpg

One thing I wanted to see was the Beauty and the Beast show, since I had never taken the time to do so, generally because no one else wanted to see it.

Since I had no one to answer to, I was going to see it today.

But, I had a tiny bit of time before the next show, so I did what one does when there is a bit of time to kill…

I went on ToT again!

I must say, I was excited to have Batman on board for protection.

Love the "who cares" pose! :lovestruc

Batman is cool but is no one concerned that the kid in the front scalped Chip??

I like watching the Beauty & the Beast show and I try to figure out how they change the characters so magically at the end!! Hmmmmm .... I need some insider secrets!

Thank goodness the rain kept the lines short at some of my favorites... 5 minutes for ToT is practically walk on.

Nice update :thumbsup2 Ya know now that you mentioned it , I have never seen the Beauty and the Beast show :confused3 I guess I better go see it next time ::yes::

Yay for Wilderness lodge, I do have to say, never been there, wanna go, looks wonderful! I do want to try WCC and was gonna book it this trip, BUT, with HDDR it made sense to do soemthign else instead.

Bad deal with wishes, I remember reading that on twitter, next time!!

nice pics from ToT!! I hope to get some footage up there next time!!

Great ride photos, as always! Who cares, I'm on vacation!! Those little girls in the last one look so scared.

Propaganda. Hahahahaha! That's awesome.

I love the beauty and the beast show. I want one of those pink dresses. Now only if I had somewhere to wear it... I can't believe you've never been! Such a good show. Drag people there!

Can't wait to hear more! :)

Rob - I have really enjoyed this TR, as well as your last one. Thanks for sharing. BTW, nice name - mine is Rob too.

It is funny you mentioned the TSM fastpasses being like currency. A few years ago my DD and I, having ridden TSM 2x already that day, decided to leave the park early and give away our upcoming afternoon TSM FP. We found an older couple who had just gotten into the back of the 120 minute standby line. We approached them and offered to give them the FP's, but as it turned out, they did not speak English. After looking at the FP's, the man pulls out a roll of cash and starts offering me $$. I was finally able to convince him I was trying to give, not sale, the FP's. I left money on the table, but kept good karma with the Disney gods.

What a great morning! The rain really paid off!

I LOVE the Beauty and the Beast show. I cry every single time, even though I know what happens at the end...whatever, it's true love! So glad you enjoyed it.

I'm getting excited for the incredible, life-changing, TR-title-inspiring moment to come!

Aww thank you Brenda. You'd almost think I planned it all out in advance

Haha, I didn't even notice that. Batman will get him though.

I really really liked it. This was my very first time.

Absolutely. Sometimes the rain can be a blessing. ToT was totally a walk on. It was great.

Nice update :thumbsup2 Ya know now that you mentioned it , I have never seen the Beauty and the Beast show :confused3 I guess I better go see it next time ::yes::

Thank you Mary. Yes, I definitely recommend it. It's really good.

It's beautiful Katt. If you get a chance, take a pop on over. It's cool to take the boat. I've heard so many good things about WCC, but yeah, you've got a Hoop De Doo already, so probably a good call.

It sucked.. but it just leaves something for another time. Spilled milk? No Crying!

Bahaha, you know I noticed that too. Most of the Gaston's I had seen were, let's say, augmented. This one definitely not. Maybe he'll be out greeting in September...

Thanks. Thankfully I was ready this time. It can be tough with the randomness, and sometimes it doesn't stay still long enough to focus. This one worked out! Yay!

Ah thank you so much! Oh wow, you know I didn't notice that, but you're right, they do look scared. I guess I was just too focused on Batman. :earboy2:

Hahaha, thank you. I thought it was completely appropriate as she was shilling "the best convention ever".

Seriously I know. It's a great show and I never knew what I was missing. I was finally seeing stuff I'd never seen. Yay!

Thank you so much Jennifer!! :goodvibes

Haha, thanks so much, Rob is it? I appreciate that a great deal, and believe me, it's my absolute pleasure. Oh, and since this is your first post :welcome:

Oh my, what a great story!!! It's shocking to me, but a HUGE amount of people think you have to pay for Fastpasses. Like, do they NOT watch Stacey???

Good on you for not taking any money. You will be rewarded many times over for that!! :mickeyjum

Great pics! :)

Thank you so much!!

It definitely paid off. Never knock the power of rain at WDW. :) Many are absolutely terrified of it, yet will spend the day on Splash Mountain and Kali River Rapids. :lmao:

Oh, and since I don't think you've posted before on THIS TR (I know you have on the other)... :welcome: :)

Oh me too... now. It is a shame it took me that long, but on the positive side, I got to do something brand new (to me) which is tough having been so many times.

Awww YAY!!!! Don't worry, it's written and still to come. :goodvibes

Thank you so much Bree!! Haha, yeah I'd love to stay at them as well, that's for sure. Truly stunning.

I was definitely disappointed, but it leaves something for another time. Plus I would have missed the awesomeness of the parking lot view. :rotfl2:
The good news is I have more opportunities to see Wishes on the trip.

The Beauty and the Beast show is really good; much better than I anticipated. Definitely recommended.

Excited to read more about your AWESOME day!!!popcorn::

Having so much fun reading this! I went solo in 2009 and going again in February.

I love the "wish you were here" signs. I'm going to have to remember to do that! I know my nieces (and hopefully nephews!) would get a kick out of that!

Thank you so very much and might I add :welcome:. Yay for solo trips!!

Aww thank you. It was just something to have a little fun with. I bet the nieces and nephews would LOVE it. You could even take some video maybe of the characters (the ones that talk anyway) to say a little hello to them. I've seen it done and the characters always seem to enjoy it.

A LITTLE SOMETHING EXTRA FROM THE REAL WORLD...

Hi everyone. :wave2:

I know from time to time people like to add in a little "real life" into their trip reports.

So, before the next update, I just wanted to take a moment to introduce you to someone who has become a very important part of my life.

Ladies and Gents, this is Johanna.

01.jpg

I wish every child had the opportunity to go to Disney World and I always think of her whenever I’m there; thus the connection to this here trip report.

Johanna lives in El Salvador and I am very proud and honoured to call her my assigned World Vision Sponsor Child.

I joined up with World Vision back in 2007 when Johanna was 6 years old, and she has been a big part of my life ever since.

Whenever I think about our “First World” problems, I try to remember her and her family to really gain a bit of perspective.
Originally, she (and her community) was listed as a high risk HIV area.
I am delighted to report that is no longer the case!

I receive a new photo and full health update each year, so I just wanted to share each of them in the order they were received, right up to her current age of 12.
As far as I’m concerned, she is like my own kid.

And she’ll turn 13 this November…. YIKES!!

Age 7-8.jpg

Age 9-10.jpg

Age 11-12.jpg

I also wanted to share just one of the many letters I’ve received, as we try to write back and forth as much as possible.
This one in particular really touched me.

The original is hand written in Spanish (I receive that as well) and this represents the translated copy.

Of course since, as you know, my Spanish knowledge is limited to "clearing" and "doors", I am very grateful for the translation.

Letter.jpg

And here is the drawing referenced in the letter.

Drawing.jpg

I can't even express how much I love this.

Finally, and one of the main reasons I thought to include this in the report, is that I just received a brand new photo, which is unusual this time of year.

Recently I had the opportunity of donating an extra amount over and above the normal monthly sponsorship to help buy some extra items.

The photo shows the purchases; A new dresser, new clothes, new shoes, and a pair of sandals.

02.jpg

I feel so honoured to be just a small part of helping make her and her family's life better.

Thank you to all so much for reading. :flower3:

I believe Johanna would be pleased. :)

The next update is right below.
