Adorable bag! Very nice! Glad you found the bag and Oxana!

You stopped after only posting the bread? What? :faint: More please!

Love the pictures from the verandah. We've only had the verandah one time and that was on our first cruise in 2011 and it was amazing. To save money the next cruise, just 6 months later, we booked an Oceanview. It was nice, but nothing like a verandah.

Love the bag!:cool1:

I loved that bread!! It makes me hungry just looking at it and I shouldn't be as I just ate strawberry icecream for dinner.!!:rotfl:

Love the D&B bag! I can't wait to get me a DCL charm for my bracelet.

The bag was on my list of "must haves". So I was really looking forward to it and Tom made it a point we bought it early in the cruise.

They have a lot of really nice DCL charms! I cannot wait to see which one you are going to pick. :thumbsup2

Thank you! I really love my new bag, and it was so awesome to see Oxana again. We had quite a few chats with her as she was very concerned with the situation in her home country of Ukraine. Her mother brings her two sons up there and to see the developments on TV worried her a lot.

Sorry about stopping after the bread pictures. It was NOT my intention, but somehow the DIS would close on me again and again and it was getting late, but you will have the dinner update for YOUR breakfast. ;)

You know, we had originally planned to only do ONE cruise in our lifetime and tick it off our bucket list. So we went all out and booked deck 7 on the Wonder, veranda and all.
Now, you know the story - we did not stop at cruise one. :rotfl2: But somehow it is hard to go with anything else but a veranda.
But I do understand about the financial reasons to go with an oceanview. We have taken that into consideration as well, but the thought of sitting on the veranda watching the waves always wins. ;)

Isn't it just wonderful bread? And I love the olive dip/spread they offer with it. :cloud9:
On the other hand ..... strawberry icecream for dinner sounds yummy to me. :goodvibes

What beautiful pictures!

And very cute bag!!!

Thanks Ann! It was such a beautiful day and I was very happy with my new bag. ;)

Day 3, February 17

Champagne and Mickey Bars on the veranda - Part 6

The assistant server came right by to fill our glasses with water, bring some Diet Coke and he placed the Warm Herb Brioche in our basket and put the Olive Spread on the table.
Then we were handed the menus and started studying them. Having had a snack mid afternoon and a full lunch did not leave us very hungry, but Mario insisted we needed to have a full dinner. So Tom chose the

Iced Lobster and Jumbo Shrimp, with Green Asparagus, Horseradish Cream and Dill Dressing. He gave his starter a whole hearted thumbs up. My choice was something new on the menu, since they had taken away the Cheese Souffle which I had loved so much. So I tried the

Breaded and Deep Fried Brie, served with an

Orange and Cranberry Chutney. I was a bit disappointed with it. Breaded and Deep fried cheese is something quite regular here and this starter had far too much breading, and was a bit on the tasteless side. It helped to have some of the chutney with it, but I am not sure I would order it again. We both skipped the soup and Tom had ordered the

Crispy Roasted Duck Breast, with cabbage, bacon and shallots, Honey Parsnip puree and Duck Red wine jus. My choice had been the

Chateaubriand Roasted Filet Steak, Roasted Filet Steak, crushed new potatoes with shallots, Buttered Green Beans and a Red Wine Jus. We were very happy with our choices once they came out, but Mario had decided that we HAD TO try the

Roasted Rack of Lamb Medium, with Dauphinoise Potatoes, Buttered Brussel Sprouts and a Claret Rosemary Sauce. All three were delicious, but WAY too much food and we were not able to clear any of our plates. When it was time for dessert we were both so full and told Mario that we were going to skip it.
Well, he would not accept a NO, and he told me that I had to try the soufflé. Oh, well, so be it. Now it was Tom’s choice. He still opted for nothing, but Mario just would not have it. He promised to get Tom something he would like, if he told him his favourite colour. Tom chose green and we were looking forward what green dessert Mario was to wrap up. A few minutes later he came back and brought my soufflé.

Once it was set up he went back to his station and brought out Tom’s dessert, which he held behind his back until he had reached the table. And then he put the “green dessert” in front of him.

It was ONE green Mickey sprinkle stuck to the bottom of the plate with a drop of chocolate.

We were laughing so hard, I think we both cried from laughter. But he still had another dessert for Tom. He brought him a

Banana Split! Not wanting to upset Mario Tom ate a few bites of it and it was really a nice and “lighter” dessert, but still too much for him.
And while we enjoyed our desserts we watched Mario having fun with some of his guests. He again did magic tricks and helped celebrating birthdays and anniversaries. And then he came our way. He brought over a table cloth, which he draped all around Tom, then made him hold it in place,

while he folded a crown out of a napkin and handed him a huge pepper mill, to finally crown him king of the table.

I KNOW that by now we both laughed so hard that tears were running down my face. Once we had finally finished our meal we waited for Mario to be less busy as he had told us how much he had enjoyed the chocolate we had given him the day before over lunch and we had brought some more for him and his assistant server. We handed him his treat and said our goodbyes, also informing him that we would not have dinner the next day in the Main Dining Room as we had a Palo reservation.
He was not happy to NOT see us the next day, but we promised to be back the next day. We walked around the ship a bit

and stopped in at the shops

to give Oxana her daily chocolate share, watched the characters interact with the guests and finally returned to our stateroom.

We got into more comfy clothes and stood out on the veranda watching the ship glide through the night. Tom was going to pour us a drink and I felt like having another room service treat. So at around 11pm we ordered some more Mickey Bars and once they had been delivered sat out on the veranda enjoying them.

It was close to midnight when we finally went to bed.

To be continued ............

Great update Karin!! Tom King of the Table. If someone had dressed my brother up as king of the table I'd had laughed so hard I would probably have not only tears but maybe even pulled muscles from laughing so hard!!

Love the new purse. I have been eyeing that one myself, but restraining from buying it! :rotfl2:

The divider was getting kind of annoying.
Jeanette, you really should consider one of these cruises. Your kids would LOVE it and we could both sample all of the yummy cruise food. :thumbsup2

:goodvibes Maybe once my little man gets a wee bit older. I know my DS13 would LOVE it! Especially the food. That darn fear of boats of mine....however I can get over it for my kiddos. I took my DS5 to the dentist and his hygienist is doing her first Land & Sea, her son is 7 now so she's hoping he'll love it. I can't wait to hear how it goes (they are doing Halloween time).

Mario is hilarious, and the green dessert :rotfl2: Awesome!

Great updates Karin - love the new D&B purse :-)
We've just landed back in the UK today, following our cruise and trip to WDW so reading your TR is helping with the post trip blues :-)
By the way, thanks for convincing me to try the Remy Brunch - it was AMAZING!!! and yes, I did do the champagne pairing :-)

I have two Disney Dooneys that I love! Is your satchel the coated cotton finish (which I also like very much)?

MMM, that meal looked good.
I want to go on a cruise and do the FE. LOL. It looks like fun getting fun gifts when you return to the room.
Love the pics walking in town.
The hot chocolate fudge pudding looks so good.
Glad she got the door fixed.
Nice bag you got.
That is funny the dessert he brought out for him.
Caught up.

Oh my gosh!!:rotfl: I was trying to figure out what green dessert they would have...maybe something pistachio...never would have guessed ONE mickey head sprinkle!:lmao::rotfl2: That's clever!

Even better that Tom got crowned King of the table with his pepper mill sceptor!

Great updates !! Your meals looked delish !! Don't you hate it when they takea favorite item off the menu!!!

It was SO fun to watch them, especially since we had no idea what he was up to.
I am glad our assistant server (forgot his name!) took my camera and preserved the memories. :rotfl2:
That is one thing that I so love about DCL. The interaction with guests, even though these CM have such a huge load of work every day.

Love the new purse. I have been eyeing that one myself, but restraining from buying it! :rotfl2:

I really really have a soft spot when it comes to D&B Disney bags. I already have quite the collection and just seen the pattern for the new ones. I SO hope they have them on our July cruise! I NEED a new one. :rotfl2:

Jeanette, I do understand about your fear, but the fun thing is that once you are ON the ship you don't feel like it IS a ship. It is just like a huge swimming hotel.
I sometimes have to remind myself that this IS a ship. Just don't try and get into a hurricane, as this is when you can feel the ship move. ;)

Mario is hilarious, and the green dessert :rotfl2: Awesome!

He was one of the funniest servers EVER!!! When he asked for a favourite colour I was sure there was nothing he could come up with, but when he came back with the "lonely" sprinkle we both couldn't stop laughing. :rotfl:

Welcome back, Linda!
Wow that vacation went by so quickly. Hope you had just loads and loads of fun and I was thrilled to read that you did Remy Brunch AND the champagne pairing! :thumbsup2

I have to admit that I have quite the collection of D&B bags and after reading up on coated cotton (;) here you can tell that this is not my first language) I can report, that YES, it is coated cotton finish.
Have you seen the new DCL design? I cannot wait to get my hands on one of those. :lmao:

I totally forgot to compliment tge DCL Dooney Karin!!

Thank you! :goodvibes

We LOVE doing the FE! I really enjoy handing out gifts and it is so fun to return to your stateroom and find something new in the extender.

Nassau - we have taken a tour the first time we visited and ever since just went to explore on our own. I prefer to see things on my own. It was always fun and I do a lot of research to avoid getting lost. ;)

Yes, Tom's dessert that day was the funniest thing ever. :rotfl2:

Oh my gosh!!:rotfl: I was trying to figure out what green dessert they would have...maybe something pistachio...never would have guessed ONE mickey head sprinkle!:lmao::rotfl2: That's clever!

Broccoli with chocolate sauce crossed my mind, but Mario's idea was a lot cleverer. :rotfl2:

Even better that Tom got crowned King of the table with his pepper mill sceptor!

That was so much fun. I don't know how they come up with all these ideas.

Great updates !! Your meals looked delish !! Don't you hate it when they takea favorite item off the menu!!!

Thanks, Rosie!
I don't know why they always have to take away some of the best items on the menu. I loved that souffle and the breaded cheese is NOWHERE near as good. :sad2:

The D&B purse is SO nice!! How lovely that Mario remembered you- but I am not surprised! I am sure you make a lasting impression, you are both so kind. :) An aft balcony is the BEST, isn't it? Joan has one on our upcoming Dream in October (Evie and I and our husbands are next door, but we plan on spending more time on her balcony than our own, lol!). We are going to do something new in Nassau this time, a foodie tour- really looking forward to it!:goodvibes You have been to Nassau so many times, I always find in interesting how you make all your stops at all your favorite places! :cool2:

OMG, between the lovely green dessert and the "king" outfit, I think you had quite the time. So funny!!!:rotfl2: And a nice way to end the evening is with a little disney treat. :goodvibes
