Round 2 Adventures of the 2013 Disney Moms Panel Search

Done. Submission complete.

I think I'm gonna be sick.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

I feel good about my essays and my DH finally got a video that he liked. I think we ended up trying about 6 times. We decided on in the house because we couldn't get the lighting right outside. It may be October, but I really didn't want to look like a ghost in my video.

Once again, good luck to everyone!

Mel-
Please add me to your list of lucky round 2 people!
I'm Jean M.

I've applied every year! :thumbsup2
My fingers and toes are crossed for luck.

WOOHOO! I always get excited when I see a Marylander moving forward. Best of luck to you!

I turned in my round two application last night. I did my best, but my video is a bit choppy. I have our winterized pool in the background and my 8 year old dd shot it - lol. My husband thought I wasn't my normal silly self, but too late now!
Good luck everyone - it is very exciting:flower3:

I was gutted about not making it to round two but as a consolation I have applied for the WDW UK family comp.

Good luck to everyone who made round two xxx

And anyone who has entered WDW UK family good luck xxx

I've been lurking this year. I didn't post because I didn't think I had a chance to make it on to round 2, but for the first time in 4 attempts - I made it to round 2!!!! :cool1:

I made my video yesterday on my Mac while home alone (so no one would laugh at me) and submitted everything today.

I wrote out the script for my video Friday evening and practiced it every chance I could. In the car, in front of a mirror, in the car. LOL

I'm applying for DCL and used the same memory for the essay and video. It was also a DCL memory, so I hope it will not be my demise.

Now I can relax the rest of the weekend. Well - relax as much as possible until round 3 contacts come out!

Good luck to everyone! Thank you for letting me lurk with you all! :flower3:

I'm working on my stuff now. I had a slight delay that distracted my train of thought. Friday night my husband said we could book a trip to WDW! He took 3 weeks off from work and has been telling me all along we weren't going anywhere and he just wanted to rest and hang around the house!

We are staying at AoA from 10/24-10/27 then heading to my parents' in Lakeland and then 10/30-11/1 heading back to WDW and staying in The Cabins at Fort Wilderness so we can enjoy all of their Halloween fun!

I've been to WDW over 40 times but this trip has lots of new adventures for us! AoA, MNSSHP, Pirates League for my son, and Halloween at the Fort! We are also doing the fishing trip which will be new to my son and husband. Plus my son will be tall enough for Soarin'!

Good for you, I bet it feels great to hit submit!

Would you share the format you recorded your video in? I have a mac and iphone. Someone reported that the iphone video would be too large. I have to do the filming by myself, as my dh is traveling for work. TIA!

Hi! I just shot my video on my iPhone. When I uploaded it from my phone to my computer it turned out sideways. Does anyone know how to rotate it? Any help would be great!

I'm done! I laughed so hard at the comment by Luvtheears, who said: "I made my video yesterday on my Mac while home alone (so no one would laugh at me) and submitted everything today." Tried having my daughter take the video on my phone, but the sound was terrible, and she got tired of all of the retakes. She finally said, "Just do it on the webcam on your computer" and disappeared. Great support I'm getting from her! Oh well, it worked, and the only person I bored with the redos was myself.

Good luck to everyone!!!!!

I used Photo Booth that came with my Mac. I used iPhoto to shorten it to 59 seconds and when I checked to see if it was over the 50mgs it was only 47kgs. (I hope that's the right letters:confused3 - my son and husband are better with computers than I am.) :rotfl2:

I also have to admit I didn't know what to do with the background because I was in my sewing room. I just cleaned up and put Mickey stuff on the shelf behind me. I wore a plain aqua colored shirt, with matching Mickey jewelry. The jewelry is hard to tell it's Disney, but it made me feel good. :goodvibes

This is exactly why I did it alone! In fact when my family got home I thought they would enjoy seeing the out takes, but they didn't. :confused3:rotfl:

I'm getting really stressed! I've answered all my questions and uploaded my video, but when I press submit all that happens is that the link to my video disappears!

What am I doing wrong? (The video is in the right format, correct size etc)

Haven't submitted mine yet. Need to finish up the answers tonight, and shoot the video.

Finally getting to Round 2 was the push we needed to get a camcorder. No smart phones, and while the cameras will take video, the sound quality on them is terrible. So, if nothing else, we got a camcorder out of the deal. ;)

That's definitely the most important part of choosing what to wear/display in your video. If your styling choices help to boost your confidence and remind you of why you're doing this in the first place, I think that will help ease any nerves you might have while facing the camera.

Have you tried e-mailing Laura to see if there is an alternate way for you to submit your video since you are having trouble with the website?

No I haven't tried that yet, I've emailed the address at the bottom of the page and I'm waiting for a reply. I was thinking about logging out and then logging back in again but I don't know if it will lose all of my essays?

Last year I didn't have any problems with my video so not sure what's gone wrong this time? (Really hope this isn't an omen!)

Well, Round 2 submission is complete. I think it is about as good as I can do at this point. Great idea to use Photobooth. Didn't even think of that! My DH shot it on my son's Sony Bloggie and then we edited off a few seconds on the front (dead air) to get it at 60 seconds. Weather was horrible here today, so video had to be shot inside. We tried to get the lighting as good as possible, but we are no lighting experts!

Good luck to everyone! It is an exciting process!

I would copy and paste your essays into a Word Processing program, just in case they do get lost from the website. You may have to re-type them, since there are issues with copying and pasting, but that's better than trying to recreate them altogether.

Here is her email address: Laura.spencer@disney.com

I think you may receive a faster response from her than from the generic help e-mail on the application page, since she is very aware of what a time sensitive issue this is and how much it means to everybody applying.

Good luck!

Just wanted to wish all the Round 2 hopefuls tons of pixie dust! pixiedust:

Can't wait to hear who moves on to Round 3! :goodvibes

Thank you so much for your help. I logged out and back in again (after copying my answers!) and got a blank application form. I've re-typed my answers, uploaded my video and it's all gone through - phew!

Thank you again xx
