Zip-ah-de-doo-da, Zip-ah-dee-EH! Two Canadians Visit WDW for the 1st Time - COMPLETE!

I went on the Behind the Seeds tour *years* ago (ok now I am counting, 15 years, maybe?) and I loved it - I assume a lot has changed, but learning about how all of it worked was amazing and the subject matter can't have changed that much.

I'm sure it hasn't changed too much, just new techniques that have been created since then? I really need to try and put this into our schedule for one of our upcoming trips!

Yeah I just read the description on the WDW site; the description sounds identical to the tour I went on. I'm not even sure the price has changed :) It would be interesting to go on it and ask what, if anything, has changed over the years in how they do things. It was pretty cutting edge when it opened.

I love your Baymax pictures!

I love your birthday girl story - I'm guessing she had a rough morning the next day, but hopefully she had a fun birthday!

I'm really impressed that you did Mission:Space. I refuse to do it. No way ... not even green.

I'm excited to read about your PPO breakfast!

We are doing the Wild Africa Tour on our next trip, but I think I'm going to put Behind the Seeds on my list for our 2018 trip!

Great trip report, thanks for sharing! Your photos are great :)

Thanks for reading!

Thanks Sarah!

I was quite entertained by birthday girl, she seemed to be having a good time! Oh to be that young again haha...

I'm really impressed that you did Mission:Space. I refuse to do it. No way ... not even green.

:crazy2: I think that might be the only time I ever do it...

I'm excited to read about your PPO breakfast!

I hope to have that post up shortly!

Day Seven - Part One - January 11, 2016 - A PPO Breakfast!

After a great night's sleep, our alarm went off the next morning way too early, but I was excited for breakfast so I slowly pulled myself out of the bed... We had a bus to catch at 6:30am! There was only one other family on the bus besides us (and we stopped at all three All-Star resorts), and very little traffic on the road so we made it to our destination quite quickly - MAGIC KINGDOM! It was a little before 7am when we were dropped off, so we had some waiting to do. It was really cold that morning too (this is not how I remembered Florida from my two previous trips to this state!). I spent a lot of time hopping around trying to stay warm, but I did stand still long enough to get these pictures as the sky started getting brighter:

Around 7:30 they started letting people through security for bag check, and since we had got there so early we were one of the first few in line so it went really fast. From there they were checking names/Magicbands - if you had a breakfast reservation between 8-8:45 you could get into one line, there was a Steam Engine tour happening that morning, and some people are just really eager to watch the opening show so they just had to stand around and wait longer. After they scanned our Magicbands to ensure we had a breakfast ADR, we were directed to stand in line. Around 7:45am, they opened the gates and let those of us with ADR's enter the park - we were one of the first few dozen to enter the park that day! That was an awesome feeling!

We hurried down an empty Main Street to see the Castle with no one else around it! What a sight!

We noticed a Photopass photographer all ready to go, so we went over to him and ended up being his first people of the day! I love that these are basically private pictures in front of the castle, this was so cool to me!

After getting our Photopass pictures, it was still not even 8am yet. Our reservation was for 8:15, but we decided to see if we could check in early - no problem at all! Where were we going, you ask? Why Be Our Guest of course!!

We were escorted inside almost immediatedly, and since we had pre-ordered we were handed a plastic rose with a tracking device inside and told to sit wherever we'd like. We headed to the West Wing and managed to find a table! There were some really neat effects in here, with the enchanted rose and the portrait of the Prince that would change to show the Beast (signaled by a loud clap of thunder).

We set our rose down, and then went to grab our drinks from the self-serve fountains. We were both cold from standing outside too long, so we both wanted something warm - a coffee for Luke and a hot chocolate for me. We did not have to wait very long before a little cart was rolled over with our food!

If you want to know more about our food, head on over to my dining report :teeth:

After we finished eating, we each grabbed a new cup and filled it with water, and put a coffee lid on it so it wouldn't spill. It saved us from buying a bottle of water right away! I stopped to snap these pictures on the way out:

Oh cool - that one sounds interesting, I look forward to hearing about that in the 2017 TR :) I did one called ShowBiz magic as well, looks like with it called Backstage Magic now, that was really fun and interesting.

Day Seven - Part Two - January 11th, 2016 - So Many Rides!

When we left Be Our Guest, it was still only 8:45am, so the park did not officially open for another 15 minutes. We realized that the Mine Train was already up and running, so we quickly headed in that direction, which isn't a very far walk at all from BOG.

We had planned on skipping this ride today, since we didn't have a Fastpass for it, but since the line was non-existent we actually walked right onto it! We even got to admire some of the queue line at our own pace! There were not even enough people to fill the entire train, and we ended up riding with only 6 other people!

On January 6th when we were on this ride, the cameras must have been broken or my Magicband didn't work properly, because we didn't get any pictures or video from the Mine Train that day . I didn't realize this until way too late to try and do something about it. You'll notice in the pictures above, Luke and I were actually taking a selfie since we didn't realize there were pictures on this (if we did know, we would have been making funny faces...). Here's proof of our selfie :rotfl::

By the time we got off, the park had started opening, so we headed straight for Peter Pan's Flight. We had less than a 10 minute wait until we were in a ship, sailing over London! It was a really cute ride, but there's no way I would wait for over an hour for it! The standby line is really great too, so much detail! We actually had a Fastpass for this scheduled for later in the day, but we didn't feel the need to re-ride it so we went on our MDE app, dropped that FP+ and managed to pick one up for Haunted Mansion in the afternoon. Score!

From there, we decided to go on Winnie the Pooh. I had my entire bedroom done in Pooh bear when I was younger, so I love this ride! So cute! And the interactive queue line is fantastic! I also prefer the motion of the ride over the Pooh ride in Disneyland. (They are practically the same ride, but I find the one in Florida has better movement during the windy day part).

When we exited Winnie the Pooh, it was only 9:20. The park had only been open for 20 minutes, and we had already been on three rides! This day was going wonderfully! We decided to head over to Tomorrowland. We were trying to hit any and all rides we had missed on our first MK day, so when we saw a 15 minute wait time posted for Astro Orbiters we jumped in line. That ride is a tight squeeze for two adults! But it does offer some pretty great views :)

It was then time to use our first FP+ of the day for Space Mountain! I don't even know what I was doing with my face, but I think the award for funniest face has to go to the random stranger in front of me...I'm also not sure why Luke looks like he's freaking out?

Next up was Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin and Luke beat me again. I might have mentioned this already, but this ride is so much better in California. I don't like that the guns are attached and you can't pick them up in WDW. In DL, by being able to pick the gun up your aim is so much better! And yes, this is yet another ride photo where we are making stupid faces...

We started walking towards the castle but stopped for Photopass pictures under the Tomorrowland sign. The photographer was a bubbly little thing, very friendly. She was fascinated by my magenta-coloured hair and wanted to talk about hair dye for at least 5 minutes. Poor thing wasn't very good with the camera though...It's a good thing we have plenty of other great Photopass pictures that I didn't mind these ones not turning out.

Great update!

Odd question for you....was Luke uncomfortable riding 7DMT? I haven't yet had the chance to ride it and I am really excited about it. However, I do have a larger butt and thighs and was told that the ride vehicles are made rather small. Any feedback you have would be greatly appreciated...I'd be so embarrassed if I went to go ride it and couldn't get the harness closed or something like that #mortified!

7DMT has individual lap bars, and they don't need to be pulled down that far. He fit, it was a little tight with me beside him but we didn't struggle to pull down our lap bars (and yes, the ride vehicles are a little on the small side). We've been to both DL and WDW and have been on close to every single ride without any embarrassment or struggles. Universal Studios on the other hand... :furious: - I ended up with some not so nice words for guest services there. That's a place I will avoid for a long time.

Yay Magic Kingdom! You guys got there waaaaay before us ... we didn't get there until 7:45ish (but the good part of that is that we got to go in right away). And yeah, it was really cold that morning ... I definitely wasn't expecting that.

I love your "private" castle pictures!

I'm so entertained by the camera on Sven Dwarfs Mine Train getting a picture of you taking a selfie. That's pretty hysterical! I love your other ride pictures, too ... but the guy in front of you on Space Mountain definitely has the weirdest funny face!

You got a lot done that morning! In January when we did our BOG PPO breakfast we were also able to ride 7DMT, twice, before the RD crowd came a'runnin ' :) We enjoyed our food at BOG enough (I should really get over to your DR) but since they've increased the price and we'll have 4 in Nov. we won't be doing it again.
I also failed to get Steve on AstroOrbiter last week which was one of my "must-do"s, so now it's a "must-do" again for Nov.! I've been on it and I agree, the views up there are great.

I don't think I want to take the 6:30am bus in January when we do BOG for breakfast again. It was way too early, and I was not very happy standing around for that long in the cold...

...This was worth being one of the first ones there that morning.

Haha, we wanted to have fun with our ride photos, and I think we succeeded :)

With just the two of us, we did decide to do it again in January (even with the increased cost - which is gross), but I just love our private castle pictures so much that I'm hoping for more of those! Plus, it was pretty great to get so much done before the crowds came.

I also failed to get Steve on AstroOrbiter last week which was one of my "must-do"s, so now it's a "must-do" again for Nov.! I've been on it and I agree, the views up there are great.

It'll probably be a ride we'll skip next time just because it was such a tight squeeze for the two of us, but if you go in November and go with one of your sons it won't be too bad at all! I did enjoy the view you got from up there a lot!

Awesome! Thanks for the explanation. Wooooooooooooooooo! Can't wait to read more.

Day Seven - Part Three - January 11, 2016 - Back to BOG

After getting some bad Photopass pictures, we headed into the Hub. The Dream Along With Mickey show was on, so we stood and watched it for awhile. I apologize, my pictures are not in order at all and I can't remember now the exact timeline of the show.

After watching pretty much the entire show, we checked the time and realized it was time to head to our early lunch reservation - once again at Be Our Guest! That's right, we hit the BOG trifecta of all three meals! The only time I was able to book an ADR was for 11:25, which felt so early...we were still full from our breakfast, but we figured we would find a way to eat :teeth: We checked in pretty much on time, and they were immediatedley ready for us. We were led across the bridge and into the castle, where we were once again handed a plastic tracking device rose. I was so glad we had pre-ordered our meals, the line of people waiting to order at the kiosks stretched almost half way across the bridge - I'd guess they had at least a half hour wait before they would even be ordering. So pre-order people, especially at lunch!

We decided that since we had sat in the Ballroom for supper, and the West Wing for breakfast, we only had one more room to sit in - the Rose Gallery/music box room (whatever it's actually called). We had no trouble finding an empty table in here, and we sat our tracking device rose down and went to grab drinks - root beer for me and a Coke for Luke.

Within a few minutes, a cart was wheeled over with our food! Again, if you'd like more details on what we ordered, how we used the dining plan, what we thought of our food, go check out my dining report :)

Fantastic trip report! I'm actually from Edmonton, myself - my boyfriend and I are leaving Oct 27 for our WDW trip! He hasn't been since he was a very small boy (Before HS and AK even opened!).

I love your pictures from Dream Along with Mickey! I've never stopped to watch it (I'm terrible at stopping to watch shows), but it looks fun from the picture!

I'm very impressed that you experienced all three rooms at BOG! I've still only sat in the ballroom (which is fine, because I love the ballroom).
