We are considering a 4 or 5 day Disney cruise. We have never been on a cruise before. We have a DS age 13 and DD age 7. What are your favorite activities while you are on a cruise? How do you spend a typical day?

Well, for a day at Sea when we sail with the kids, we usually eat breakfast as a family, the kids go to the kids clubs, and we usually check out seminars...the martini seminar is fun (usually later in the afternoon, they have beer seminars too), we like playing chess in Diversions...there are classes, movies, all kinds of things available onboard. We usually get the kids for lunch and hang out as a family as long as they will tolerate being out of the kids club. We don't spend a ton of time in the pools because they are usually too crowded, but we like to go back to the cabins in late afternoon and order light room service and rest a bit. We aren't big show people, we've seen the ones on the shorter cruises already, so we usually rest or get drinks before our late dinner time slot. The kids go to the kids clubs again and we check out the clubs, we pick the younger kids up, and the teen stays out as late as she can;). We go back to the cabin and pour over the next day's navigator, admire whatever towel creation our steward left for us, and order big cookies from room service! Lovely.

We did our 1st 4 day cruise in Jan with ds 13 and dd 9. we all loved it. And found there was lots to do.:thumbsup2 My kids did however spend a lot of time in the pools. Many of the kids club activities appealed to dd 9 but our weather was great and being outdoors "won" out over most of the club activities. :) Our week ds did check out the stack but reported all the kids were closer to 17 and he felt our of place. I guess ages on board and in the clubs are just luck of the draw...
There were great movies playing that we hadn't seen and again we never got around to them. We enjoyed the dining rooms and loved the shows. dd had her hair braided on board which was something she was looking forward to. I enjoyed a message.
We did an excursion in Atlantis, brought the kids snorkeling stuff and the did that, swam and para sailed at CC.
If we had different weather there were plenty of activities we could have taken part in that we chose not to as we were happy to be in the sun!!
The kids thought room service was amazing and ordered "bedtime snack" every night ( read: burger and fries for ds 13) Also the self serve ice cream station thrilled dd....one thing she tells all her friends about:rotfl:
