Hi everyone! I am taking the plunge. I've been a reader here on the Dis for several years. Since our family vacation next month has shaped up to be particularly epic, I decided there was no time like the present to join in the fun. Welcome to my first Dining Report!!!
Where to begin? Let me introduce the cast of characters!
I'm Georgeanne: wife, mom, and a little over a year into my second career as a PICU nurse. I'll let you all in on a little secret- I haven't always been a Disney addict. Growing up, I visited Disney World exactly twice. The first time, I was eighteen months old. I have only ever seen one photo from that trip, and remember nothing. The second time, I was eighteen years old. I visited in July, and spent the week in one room at the Grand Floridian with my parents and two younger sisters. It was hot, crowded, and I was full of teenage attitude. I take full blame for not enjoying the experience, but it left me in no rush to get back.
DH is Walt, manager of a major trade show company. We will be celebrating our tenth wedding anniversary in November. He probably isn't quite the Disney Addict that I am, but he fully embraces and sometimes even encourages my love for all things Disney. In fact, it is his fault that I have turned into the Disney Addict that I am- but I'll get to that shortly.
DS is Peyton, 8 years old. He is sweet, smart, funny, easy-going, and most importantly, happy and healthy! He loves baseball, video games, and having fun with his friends and family. He is up for anything, and I'm pretty sure being raised as a full blown Disney Addict. Because if I've counted correctly, this will be his tenth trip to Disney World.
When Peyton was about a year and a half old in early 2009, dear friends of my husband (see, this is why it's his fault) invited us to WDW as their guests-- park tickets and a few special meals included. At that time, I wouldn't have been interested in planning a Disney trip on my own, but this was too good to pass up. About three seconds after stepping on property, I was hooked! The magic was real, and I was blown away by the amazing customer service and attention to detail around every corner. The rest is history. In the years since then, we've been on a variety of trips to the world- on property and off, short trips and long, driven and flown. We've celebrated holidays and weddings in the World. Whose wedding, you asked? Let me get back to the rest of the cast-
Back to that first family trip in 2009, my stepson Walter and his girlfriend Brittany were able to join us for part of the trip. Walt and Brittany are high school sweethearts, and Brittany has always been a Disney Addict. She was on a Disney vacation with her mom and sisters in 2014 when Walter flew down to surprise her for the last night of her trip. He proposed at the Contemporary. After careful consideration, they decided on a Disney Wedding! They were married this January at the Grand Floridian, and it was everything you could have imagined. In fact, before the wedding, hubby was thinking we should take our summer vacation to somewhere other than Disney. The wedding was so amazing that we decided on a return to Disney before we even got home. One of the things that makes this upcoming trip so epic? We recently found out that Walt and Brittany will be able to join us for the last few days of our vacation!!
As I mentioned, we have returned to Disney World many times in the last 7 years. in 2013, hubby and I went for an adults-only long weekend. We joke that the whole family benefitted from that trip because we came home as DVC members! This trip, we will purchase TiW for the second time (20% off food and alcohol?? sign me up!!).
Thanks so much for joining us on our next Disney Adventure!
Up Next: The line up and a little more about why this trip is so epic!
