Saw on Disney's website that the Yachtsman Steakhouse has Wagyu on the menu. Was wondering if anyone knew if these are available on the dining plan. Will be eating there and will be on the deluxe dining plan.

As far as I can remember from our visit 2 weeks ago the menu gave a cash price ($148 i think) and then indicated anyone who chose it on the DDP would pay 2 credits plus $97 supplement charge. figures may be a couple of dollars out but that was the general idea.

I love this because it's a great way to see how badly they're screwing people on the DDP. :lmao:

They're valuing 1 TS credit at $25.50 but you're paying about $37 for that same credit.

well it's not the whole credit. there is also dessert and a beverage in it. So they are valuing it at $51 + $12 for the average sig dessert + $3 for a beverage + tax. that comes out to about $70. so you're not that far off and certainly not being "screwed." it's about $35 a TS credit for that meal. Or order the KS strip steak for $59 and come out ahead. Or go to a $42 character dinner or H&V Holiday dine for $58 and it more than evens out in your favor.

Ah, I forgot the dessert. I never figure it into my personal calculations since I rarely eat it & wouldn't order it if paying OOP.

The filet is $145 and the strip is $125. Did anyone mention those are for 5 oz. steaks?

A 32 oz. dry-aged porterhouse (for two) is $119. I've promised DS I will take him there for the porterhouse and a Louis XIII for his 21st birthday.

The Louis will be the expensive part.. Especially if he gets the two ounce pour.

Yep. I have two years to save up.
I've done it a few times... They call the manager out and very carefully measure the pour. I understand you don't want to over pour the Louis, but it seemed a bit "too careful" for the level of restaurant.

I'm talking holding it up to the light and squinting...

I haven't done it in two or three years, but as I recall a 1 ounce pour was roughly $150, and a two ounce around $250. I'm sure it's more expensive now...

K, the whole talk of restrictions to the dining plans worries me. I don't want to order the wagyu, but I also don't want to be surprised at the restaurant with other changes. I called the hotline. I know there will be lots of different information given out but this was what I was told. Take with a grain of salt...there are no restrictions to the ddp, she specifically looked up the yachtsman. They also asked a supervisor and they looked it up. They read the policy, no restrictions.
