World of color dessert party?!

No, that is why I so strongly recommend them now. :D

The first row at the fence is standard chairs, the second row the high chairs.

I probably would have gone for the high chairs, but was running late and my friend went for the close option when she was asked to select our table. Lesson learned.

I am guessing we get to pick our own table - they are not assigned.

Tables are not assigned so they will lead you to one but you can request something else. They will ask if you prefer tall or regular chairs.

I was offered a second glass of bubbles. Could have been because my mom did not have an alcoholic drink, just coffee. They were very, very accommodating. Great service.

Something to consider when choosing a table: the big white ball lamps can obstruct your view of the show when seated (even in tall chairs). So maybe take a look at where those are in proximity to your table.

You are being lead to your table in the order of arrivals. That's the best way to describe it I think. But yes, if you are not happy you can switch. And my friend was given the choice of high chairs and normal table.

That is sooooo much dessert! Can you take it to go if you don't finish it? I think 1 plate would be enough for my whole family!

This is why I am doing a late lunch and this is going to be my dinner. I was planning on dinner at Carthay and then this but NO WAY can I eat that much.

Can you request extras of anything? I'm a cheddar cheese lover, I would love triple the amount they serve on that plate!!

By the way, we tried getting one with our non alcoholic drinks and they were were specific that these are given to kids only. I didn't see that mentioned before.

We had this experience too on 4/13, our younger two daughters (8 and 10) received the glow with the show cups but our 13 year old did not. If I remember right, our server said 12 and under get the cup. It was fine with us as they take up a ton of luggage space.

I agree that the high top tables & chairs are the way to go. During the show, we could see right over anyone standing who had a child or even a young lady (we saw several) on their shoulders. The view is right on the centerline of the show so it was great.

We arrived about 8:00 pm at check-in and were about the 4th group in line. Check-in began promptly at 8:15 pm for the 9:00 pm WOC show. Your server asks where you would like to sit so there is more flexibility if you arrive early. The party was not sold out on the night we attended. We were a party of 5 and they allowed us to squish at one table but we could have had two tables right next to each other as well, they gave us the option.

The desserts were great but I will caution anyone with children (or adults) who are picky eaters because they might not like the offerings on the plate. My youngest only ate her grapes, berries and cheddar cheese. However, our sever did give us a box to take any uneaten dessert with us at the end of the night. Everything is pre-plated so I don't think you can ask for more of a particular item. With 5 of us we did some sharing and trading from our plates but all-in-all 4 out of five of us loved almost everything on the plate. I was offered a second glass of champagne and the girls were even given to-go cups of hot chocolate at the end of the evening.

For us, this was a perfect way to watch WOC and it was the one splurge we had on this trip. I would do it again simply to have seats with an excellent view that we didn't have to stake out hours ahead of time. When we did FP for WOC back in August, it was an awful experience because my daughters were shoved and pushed around by adults who had had too much to drink and shoved their way into the space we had staked out ahead of time. My children were miserable then and barely got to see any of the show. This time, they enjoyed every minute of the show and it's a memory that we will take with us.

that is good to know! Hope they still have it in August! Sounds really good :)

I just booked the dessert party for this coming Sunday. Thanks for all of the useful info in this thread! Seemed like a crazy price until I realized that tax, gratuity, and alcohol are not included in the dining packages but are in the dessert party price. FYI for those with dietary issues - the CM ran through the procedure they use with me on the phone a bit ago. They make up the plates in advance for everyone, obviously, but for dietary restrictions and allergies, they will flag individual plates with the reservation number when they make it. She couldn't tell me what would be on DH's gluten-free plate as it seems like they figure that out same-day, but said we could talk to a manager if he ends up with, like, no cheese and only sweets. Guess we'll see what happens when we get there!

Is it unlimited servings or just one plate per person? I am just trying to compare it to the desert buffet in WDW

for an 8:30pm showtime, what would be a reasonable time to show up for seating?

When you make the reservation, it's for a specific time, and there is only one entry time avail per show. Ours is 8:15 for 9pm WOC. I think others have mentioned getting there maybe 15min early, but the time on your res is when you can actually get in. It's clearly not selling out nightly, so I'm not sure any earlier than that would be necessary. I booked a res for 4 last night... for this coming Sunday!

Sounds like we have had similar WOC FP experiences! Never again....
Thanks for your report- can't wait to try this out later this summer!

Pretty strong winds forecast for Monday, 04/25. Should we expect WOC to be cancelled? :worried:
