We have finally decided on our first Resort stay to be at the Wilderness Lodge. Awesome price on Orbitz. We are in a courtyard room. Any comments?

Hee hee I don't even know what the difference is that is just what they offered to us when I made the reservations.

What about the distance to the parks. I know you can get on a boat for MK or the monarail thru Epcot. How far is it to Epcot or MGM.

yay for WL, we're going there in May for our 4th trip. In the past we have always booked a standard room yet always were lucky enough to get a courtyard room update for free, now they make it nice so if you want a bunk bed room you can book one, before it was the luck of the draw. This year we went ahead and just booked a bunk bed courtyard room so hopefully we get what we requested! The three other times we stayed there we always had a rental car which we used for epcot, mgm, and ak, so the drive for us was prolly shorter than the buses so I cant really comment on those, but usually around there the ride is no more than 15 mins.

You aren't able to walk to Epcot? For some reason I thought I read that.

From the WL, you can take a boat to the MK, or a bus to Epcot, or a bus to AK, or a bus to MGM. Those would be the quickest ways to get to each park. You can't walk from WL to any park.

No from the WL, you take a bus to EPCOT. It has a boat to MK and a bus to the other parks.

I stayed at WL in October with a courtyard view room and loved it! The theming of the resort is awesome! My room had a great view of the pool area.

For comparison, the rack rate for a Courtyard room at WL is $270 in the later part of summer and $320 during the busier part of the summer.

I would be happy to e-mail you a map of the entire Disney Property. It is a PDF file which is why I have to e-mail versus jost posting it. PM us if interested in the map.

Besides the boat you can also take a bus to MK.
