I booked a while back this date and just noticed that is almost completely booked at all resorts (only costly rooms avail and pop century has preferred rooms). I know Halloween party, FW and the chew taping going on but is there something else going on that time that would have them booked so solid? Kinda little scared as we were just hitting it one last time this year before passes expire and wondering if crowds are going to be nuts.

I was recently looking to switch my dates around to incl these and noticed the same. It is fall break/Columbus Day a lot of places but I was still shocked. For us, there were only very expensive ($1000+/nt) suites available.

Our county in GA has Oct 6-10 (5 days) off for Fall Break. It's Columbus Day on Oct 10. My FP+ 60 day was yesterday. FEA was already gone for Oct 5-6. ToT is gone for Oct 8, many popular FP+ only available in the afternoon. We went last year these same dates, and Tourinplans' how did we do yesterday, put the weekend at 10s. Now, of course, the wait times don't tell the whole story, but it "felt" very busy.

Fall Break. Ours is that week and I'd venture to guess something like half of DGD's school goes to Disney that week.

Here in the northeast, a lot of school districts are off on 10/3, 10/10 and 10/12. The 3rd and 12th are the Jewish high holidays and the 10th is Columbus Day.

Our districts fall break is 10/10-10/14 and one of the reasons we are visiting during this time.

Yep, it's fall break. Ours is also 10/10-10/14 and just easier to go at that time than pull the kids out from school for such a lengthy period. As more school districts have adopted fall break, it's become a popular time to go.

7DMT, Space Mountain, and Peter Pan FP+ all currently gone for Friday, 10/7. Starting to wonder just how crowded it's going to be.

Yesterday was my FP Day. I was able to get "most" of my desired FP selections but with 10/6 being predicted a relatively lower crowd day at Epcot I was very disappointed I couldn't get anything for Frozen. Even searched for singles.

What's confusing me the most is with Touring Plans updated crowd estimations, the wait times in those plans haven't reflected the larger predicted crowds. It's thrown me for a loop.

If things are this crazy at 60+ days out as a local planning to go to Epcot 10/8 especially since it's a Saturday with Food and Wine BOO

Our Animal Kingdom day is the day after our party. It was originally a lower crowd so we were going to sleep in a bit after our party night...Now it's predicted to be a 9!

Anybody know what it means for crowd levels when FP+ is gone for multiple rides 60 or 61 days in advance? (Obviously not good, but does this happen often?) I mean, the TP Lines app is showing some availability for Space Mountain and Peter Pan tomorrow, but not for October 7?

I'm curious as well. We've never had issues getting FP that we want so I'm so unsure about lots of things.

Its a long holiday weekend (at least here in New England, almost all schools are off on Monday) and it's a good time to take a short trip before the cold weather sets in.

Every October has gotten exponentially more crowded than the last for almost a decade. Expect it to be crowded, have a good plan and be thrilled if the crowds don't feel as bad as you were expecting.

We always used to go in October and every year it did get more and more crowded. I think it's due to so many school districts switching to balanced calendars with longer Spring and Fall Breaks. The F&WF is very popular too.

We went to Disney in August last year - a first time for us - and we found the parks, especially Epcot, to be much less crowded than October.

Oct 10 is Thanksgiving in Canada :)

There is also a Fall Free Dining promo that synchs with the Cdn Thanksgiving Long Weekend so more Cdns descending on WDW. Personally, I couldn't/wouldn't give up my family Thanksgiving for anything but I understand why this is an attractive prospect for many Canadians wishing to get in on FD over a long weekend.
