We are trying to find someplace to have breakfast before my sil plays golf. Wondered about Shades of Green. He is about a year our of the army if that makes any difference. Can we eat there , can he play golf there and how do I make reservations for meal and/ or golf?

    Thanks!

Anyone can play golf and eat at Shades of Green. I believe there are 2 options for breakfast- a all you can eat buffet that was about $10/person the last time we had it or you can get a sandwich or pastry at the little coffee kiosk/shop. You should be able to call Disney to reserve the golf- both the Palm and Magnolia courses are at Shades of Green. You don't need reservations for meals at Shades of Green- just walk in and there will be plenty of space.

If you have a reservation and a car you should be allowed in through the gate by showing your id. If you don't have a car then you can either take a taxi or walk up for the Poly.

The Palm has closed for renovation until November. And I think that you can order off the menu at the Garden Gallery if you don't want the buffet.

The restaurants may a bit tricky now unless someone in your party has a military ID or is staying at SOG. This was on the Shades of Green Facebook page recently:

The 100% ID check has been changed to take effect Monday, May 20, 2013:
-- Day use of the resort and its amenities -- such as the spa, restaurants, tickets, and AAFES -- is still allowed and encouraged to any guests who have a military ID, or the resort ID received at check-in + photo ID.
-- In testing a 100% ID check, we have not experienced delays. We expect the same success when it is fully implemented though there may be minor delays during peak periods. We ask that all of our guests have their IDs out and ready to show the bus driver prior to boarding the bus to help avoid those delays.
-- If staying at SOG, and you have guests visiting you from other resorts who do not have a military ID, you may call our security gate and put them on the guest list.
-- An ID check for the walking path onto Shades of Green is also part of our plan for increasing security in the very near future.
-- The motivation for these decisions has been and always will be to maintain the safety of our guests and employees. The safety of you and your families is always our priority.
