Which moderate resort is your favorite?

CSR is a large resort that doesn't share services with other resorts and offers some deluxe amenities because it's a convention resort.

CSR offers a salon, spa, workout facility, full menu room service, a courtesy coach to assist in getting to and from the main building, and is the only moderate to offer suites.

If you're on the dining plan, you won't find a better CS spot than the Pepper Market. Huge portions, great choices and tasty food. Lunch/Dinner Menu

CSR is situated around a 15 acre lake and CBR is situated around a 45 acre lake. Great place for a romantic walk romantic walk around the Lago Dorado, across the lighted bridge to the hammocks on the white sandy beach.

CSR has terrific transportation. It doesn't share with any other resort (like POR / POFQ) and it only has 4 bus stops within the resort (vs 7 at CBR). And since CSR is centrally located, you'll have a quick ride to all the parks.

And being a convention resort, the buses seem less crowded because guests are busy with their conventions.

CSR is the most central to the 3 parks. See the map below.

CSR has the best pool of the mods and probably the second best on WDW property.

Best mod pool. It offers a great slide (123 ft long), an arcade, a sand volleyball court, and a playground at the main pool area.

Review from mousesavers.com!!

Coronado Springs is my Best Value choice in the Moderate category. It has several advantages compared with the other Moderate resorts. It is newer, so there has been less wear-and-tear on everything. Also, Coronado Springs is a convention hotel, so it has a few extra amenities not offered at the other Moderates, including a salon, a health club and a more upscale food court.

The theming is radically different in the three areas of Coronado Springs. You can request a specific area when booking but there is no guarantee you'll get your request.

  • The Spanish-style Casitas at Coronado Springs are very peaceful, with courtyards featuring tiled fountains. Casitas Buildings 1, 3 and 2 (in that order) are the closest to the restaurants and services. Casitas Building 4 contains the salon and health club, if those are important to you.
  • The Cabanas at Coronado Springs have a beachy Caribbean feeling. Cabanas Building 8A is very close to the feature pool, which may be a blessing (convenience) or a curse (noise, light). Cabanas Building 9B is closest to the marina and relatively convenient to the restaurants and services.
  • The Ranchos at Coronado Springs feel quiet and secluded -- some would say isolated -- and feature desert landscaping and pueblo-style architecture. They look closest to the main pool on a map, but in actuality they are separated from the rest of the property by a swamp, so it can be a fairly long walk from these buildings to the pool, and a very long walk to the restaurants.

I like CBR because it has a very serene, relaxing atmosphere in line with it's Caribbean theme. We were there around the 4th of July and it did not feel very crowded - no conventioners walking around in large groups, mostly couples and families with kids. It felt like a vacation inside a vacation, especially after a long day at the park. It was nice to lay on the hammocks at beach and watch some of the illuminations fireworks at night.

CSR hands down! it's gorgeous (when you get back fromt he parks you feel like you are in a different place all together) and it's SUPER romantic! we love it!

the CS is also a great place!

We love CSR!! Best pool, transportation and food. Wrap all that into the beautiful landscaping and you have a great resort!!!

My favorite has been POR. I find that resort to be sooo relaxing. The landscaping is so lush, the wooden bridges over the Sassagoula are charming and the boat transportation to DTD is very convenient. They also offer fun family entertainment in the lounge. :thumbsup2

I love POR and POFQ. I love the theme of both and think the resorts are pretty. I like that POFQ is the smaller. The boat to DTD is great. I've always had wonderful mousekeeping at POR (and it's the only resort I've stayed where I've gotten towel animals). The rooms are nice at both too, and I like the mattresses at POR.

My vote goes to POFQ, with POR as a close second. Both are very relaxing, well themed, grounds are beautiful, and boat service to DTD is a plus. CBR is ok, nothing spectacular, just alright. I know there are a lot of people who like it, but I LOATHE CSR - its by far my least favorite. Not that there's anything wrong with it, I just don't get into it.

POFQ. I love the size, I love how lush the landscaping is, I love the architecture...I just really feel at home there.

POFQ - with CSR a close 2nd. I agree with the person who said CSR is the most beautiful. It is gorgeous- but it seems very 'adult' to me. Which is not what I am after when I go to Disney.

CBR is a beautiful resort. You truly feel like you have escaped the world when you stay at CBR. It is fun for the entire family with the boat and bike rentals. You can stroll around the beautifully landscaped island and enjoy the secluded tables and hammocks. One of the best things to do at CBR is to lay in a hammock on Martinique Beach and watch the high fireworks from Illuminations at Epcot. CBR is great for families since the Main pool is next to the Food court.

Definitely, Caribbean Beach Resort. The themeing is perfect for those of us that come down from the north in January/February. And, as another poster observed, you dont have constant conventioners, but then again we get the cheerleading crowd.

Another vote for CSR!! Great transportation, pools and atmosphere!!!
POFQ least favorite. Almost the same as a value resort.

I vote for CSR!! We love the grounds, pools, transportation, food...I guess we love it all!!! :cheer2:

Least favorite - POR/CBR

I love your pictures, we recently got back from CBR, I love it, your pics make me want to be there right now..... We are returning in September, trying out POR. Just because I want to stay at all the resorts...try something different every time. So far we have stayed off-site (NEVER again...) and at POP...not bad, but busy...no complaints, just not my thing....that being said, I dont plan on trying the other value resorts, just too hectic and crowded...not relaxing when you ar at busy parks all day...just want to go back to something low key to rest and refresh......... We had absolutely NO ISSUES with CBR, love it there it is a place unto its own...nice walks, great rooms, comfy beds....the list goes on....no complaints about size or buses... which is something I am a bit concerned about regarding POR, (THINGS i HAVE HEARD...)

I love POR- it is my favorite although after seeing those pics from CSR and CBR, I may have to rethink!!!

POR is nice because it is quiet and low key. You can't beat the boatride to DTD either, nice to go over there for some shopping and Ghirardelli's!

Right now we are booked at Pop for the last week of November. However, I've been thinking about upgrading to a moderate. Do any of them have any spectacular holiday decorations that would make them more appealing than the others?
