We currently have a reservation for Narcoossee's at 9:00 for dinner and to watch Wishes but my husband's really looking for the best steak. Do we sacrifice the fireworks for the Yachtsmen? It will be our last day and we're traveling with 9 and 8 year old.

Narcoosees has a filet, that's it. That's true for most of WDW restaurants. Personally, I don't consider a filet to be the best steak. I've done the surf and turf at Narcoosees and was pretty underwhelmed but I wouldn't expect a fantastic best ever steak at a restaurant that specializes in seafood.

IMO, the best steaks are at Shulas. Better than Yachtsman.

I guess it boils down to what's more important--seeing the fireworks, or having a good meal. Yachtsmans is far better than Narcoossee's for steak. Shula's is even better, but it's not kid friendly.

I agree with Pakey. Your husband wants Shula's cowboy steak.

Flying Fish, (but I haven't been to Yachtsman or Shula's). But I would go with the location since the fireworks to you are important too.

Flying Fish's NY Strip Steak is the best steak I've had (including Yacthman's). For fireworks, you could always see Illuminations at Epcot after dinner

There is but one steak and his name is Ribeye.

I think that the absolute best steak I have ever had on any Disney property was the one I cooked on the Grill at HHI last week. Got it at the Fresh Market and it was a perfect Medium rare when I was finished.

I've had steak at Le Cellier, Yatchsman, Coral Reef, Narcoossee, St Angel's and several other WDW places. Yatchsman was probably the best, but, for overall dining, I still like Le Cellier. The Coral Reef runs them all a very close race though.

I personally prefer Prime Rib, but, that is a Roast not a Steak, so that doesn't count.

I've only had steak at a few places in WDW, including Le Cellier, Artist Point & Cali Grill. Of those, California Grill was the best. It was melt in your mouth good, but only with the sauce on the side. Le Cellier was good, Artist Point was ok.

Next trip I will try Yachtsman. I gave that up this time for AP... I wish I had stuck with my first choice.

Shula's is the best in WDW. Yachtsman is the best on the Dining Plan.

The fireworks on not necessarily worth it in my opinion. You could always do an earlier dinner, then go over to MK to watch the fireworks, or slip into Epcot to see Illuminations.

We ate at Brown Derby and Yachtman on trip in June. Three out of four of us preferred BD to YM...mostly had filet. Both were very good.

The best steak I have had was at "the wave" at CR. We ate their on our last night at the world and the entire family loved the food. I did not even need to use a steak knife to cut mine, it was that tender and cooked to order:thumbsup2

I was very happy with porterhouse I got at yachtsman. Now I havent had shula's yet, so can't compare, but shula's is on my short list to try next :).

I had le cellier back when it was 1 credit, and it was certainly very good. It didnt compare to yachtsman - totally different caliber, although I haven't been back since they upgraded dinner, so I can't talk to the upgraded food there (if it was upgraded).

I have to agree, Brown Derby has a wonderful filet, better than California Grill's as well.

The problem with steak at non-steakhouse places is that you have usually but one choice. Go to Flying Fish and want a filet--can't get it. Go to Narcoossee's and want a NY Strip--can't get it.

We just had a lovely dinner at Yachtsman! The atmosphere is beautiful, very different than Shula's. Shula's is more of a dark wood, manly, traditional steak house. Yachtsman is open and bright, beachy-resorty atmosphere.

The steaks were great. We had a filet mignon and a New York. Both excellent. Quality meat perfectly prepared. I liked it better than Le Cellier. Seasonings were very heavy at Le Cellier. That's more of a theme oriented place to me. Better than average food, but still, Canada. Love those pretzel sticks though :thumbsup2

So, for my money, it's Yachtsman.
