What's the best iPhone App for Walt Disney World?

    Hi All!

I've diligently searched the forums and could not find an answer as to what people consider to be the best (most useful) iPhone app to have when visiting Walt Disney World. Any suggestions?

I'll be there Feb 12-18, 2012, so I'm looking for some quick responses. :)

    Thanks!

Hard to pick the best as it depends what you want to do.

But high up on my list the following in terms of what I use for planning and while on holiday -

WDW Lines - great wait time app
WDW Dining - dining app, logging your ADRs
DP Dashboard - keep track of your DDP credits
iOrlando - app version of madman's map
TWIz - transportation app. Lets you know the best way to travel between locations

These all sound good especially the transportation app as we won't have a car and will have to depend on Disney buses, boats and monorail to get around.

It would be nice if there was one app that did it all. :-)

Thanks, I'm going to check these out.

We use WDW Lines (also use the DL version at home all the time) & the WDW Dining apps. They're both great! :thumbsup2

I was able to find all of the apps mentioned except the WDW Lines app. There is one called Disney World Lines by TouringPlans.com, but it says you have to be a subscriber. The subscription is $11.95/year. Is that the one you are referring to?

Is there a good one for wait times that is free or not more than a dollar or two?

    Thanks.

Yes, that's the one. This one is great because it gives crowd predictions, as well as actual touring plans. For us, it's worth the cost. Not sure about the free ones. Sorry....

    Lines.

    It's the best. :)
    That's the one.

If you have a UG, you get a discount on the subscription. It's about $7.00

I got the subscription every year even before Lines existed, so Lines was just a bonus for me, but I could see where if you don't want to cough up the $7 (or $12 if you don't have a UG), you might want to skip the app.

They really should price that thing out so people can buy it without a subscription.

Undercover Tourist also has one called Disney World Waits that is pretty nice. They have a free one you can try out. Can't remember what the price was on the paid one, but I think under $5
We used it on our last trip and the waits seemed pretty accurate.

We used Disney World Magic Guide (which includes WDW Dining) but also has maps, wait times, park hours including EMH, and a way to mark faves. It's a one stop shop for visiting!

We used the Touring Plans Lines app the week before Christmas this last year and I must say I was not impressed. The crowd calendar was particularly weak. One of the busiest days I have ever seen at the MK was predicted to be a 1.4 (on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the most crowded). Ouch...

Yes this is the app. Definitely worth the subscription IMHO. This also gives you access to crowd calendar on the Touringplans site and a range of other tools to help with trip planning :)

One app that would be useful if more people new about it and used it is the iFastPass app. It basically allows you to exchange, pickup, or give unused Fastpasses to other guests in the park. The problem is since so many people don't know about you rarely see people in the app looking to exchange or hand out Fastpasses. I found it very interesting and hope more guests get onboard, especially with the new Fastpass changes that maybe coming in March.
