with the other 'most annoying on a flight' thread going so well, I thought we should see the funnier side of flying.....

so what is the funniest thing you have seen or heard on a flight?

Mine was a lady who had used the in flight blankets and pressed for assistance from the cabin crew to help remove the bits of 'fluff' it had left on her trousers!:lmao::lmao: I thought she was joking at first, but she was being deadly serious - I couldn't help but laugh!

    any more?

In 2005 there was a little girl of about 4 or 5 sitting in front of us with, I presume, her granny. As we passed over the coast of Florida Granny said, "Look! You can see the beach." The little girl replied "Are there any donkeys?"

It really tickled me, she was off to meet Mickey and she was excited about donkeys! (Oh, I wish my kids were 4 again.)

On an outbound flight one time, 'naughty boys' were smoking in the toilets..:sad2:

The captain made an announcement something along the lines of 'If our cabin crew find anybody smoking on this aircraft, you will be asked to leave IMMEDIATELY'

Okaaay...so were 38000 feet or so in the air....leave IMMEDIATELY, everyone laughed including the captain when he came back to tell us, not literally but they would be met by the authorities when we land....Phew!! :) Not that it was me smoking (NEVER...) but I didnt fancy the idea of being sucked out of the flight over the atlantic because of someone else's habit!!

Not me personally but a friend of ours was on a flight to Thailand and a guy chose to sleep with a blanket over him (think like someone dressing up as a ghost!) for the whole flight! Friend actually got photo evidence of this (not going to argue over the ethics of taking a picture of someone without their consent but they were pretty funny, and his identity was disguised after all! ;) :lmao:)

Ok I've had quite a lot of laughs on flights but these 2 are probably the funniest....

On our flight to Florida in 2003, my 2 best friends came with my parents and I. Well we'd bought sandwiches at the airport to take on board with us. About an hour or 2 into the flight my pal got up to get one out of the overhead compartment, so she opened it, and what happened - the sandwich fell out and wacked the guy behind us in the head and then landed on his lap. She was mortified whereas me and my other pal couldn't stop laughing as she had to hurriedly pick her sandwich up from his lap while apologising. The guy had a dent in his forehead where the sandwich corner had obviously hit. It still makes me laugh now! Definitely wasn't so funny for the guy and the fact my pal had to face him for like another 7 hours did not make it easy for her!

The other time was last year on our flight back from Vegas. We'd been given our meals of some kind of beef thing and you know how you always get the token roll. Well my mum had whipped some of the beef and put it in the roll to make a burger as sorts. She was watching one of the in-flight movies with "burger" in one hand and a napkin in the other.....she then spilt half of the sauce down her and because she wasn't paying attention ended up wiping down her top with the "burger" rather than the napkin!!! It was one of those things that it passed from person to person down our row and hysterics just erupted. It was a 777 we were on so the 2-5-2 combo and my mum had a stranger beside her in our row of 5, she was mortified at what he must of thought.

I think this would have been in 2002 but a kid of about 10 years old had been kicking my seat for about 7 hours and I had been turning around and giving daggers at every chance I had. As we started to descend he began to puke for England so I got my retribution and kept grinning at him.

His mother who was in the isle seat got up to get him something from the over head locker and as she was quite small stood on the seat to do so. At this point her husband thought it would be funny to whip his wifes jogging suit bottoms down however he also managed to grab her knickers and gave us all an eyeful. :D

this one happened this year on our connection from Philadelphia, we are about to depart on time and just pushed off about a foot.when plane stops as ramp to runway is closed due to lightning.
A bloke get up and wanders down the plane to front to talk to cabin crew.
Next thing big flash of lightning and a large thunderclap. He then runs back down the plane and i hear him say "that's it were off"
Next he`s back at front with his partner with there hand luggage. a few moments later the walkway is manoeuvred into position/cabin door open/they get off and door shuts.
Half an hour later when storm gone we fly minus them

Are you all sure you are ready for this?..........

Well it was a return night flight and a lady across from us, was breast feeding her baby, but the trouble was, she kept falling asleep.... and as you can imagine, everything kept 'hanging out'!

I know this isn't really funny, and I for one, know how tired you are when breast feeding - and you shouldn't look - but when you've got a 16 year old son next to you who kept getting a fit of the giggles... it became a bit infectious.

It was worse, as the cabin crew kept coming back every few minutes to 'tuck her in' but the baby would moan and she'd feed it again and the cycle would start again....

    Tracy xx

Sorry to any feeding mums.... I do sympathise - been there!

Most ridiculous (not funny at all) was a very drunken man on a US airways flight.... standing up as the plane is hurtling down the runway, taking off!!!

Ridiculous!! He shouldn't have been allowed to fly!

On a Virgin flight we had a couple right at the back who were physically fighting each other and they had to separate them... sitting one at the front!

We had some heavy turbulence a on the return flight a few years ago just as we had finished dinner and had our tea and coffee served.
This caused a real problem if you had just been served with a hot cup of coffee. It was too rough to put the cup on your tray without the coffee spilling so we ended up holding the cup and trying to keep it as steady as possible until the coffee was cool enough to drink. It was like trying to drink on a roller coaster LOL

As we struggled between keeping the cup steady and trying to drink the hot coffee without it ending up down our front the stewardess walked down the plane asking if anyone wanted more coffee!

A few years ago we were lucky enough to get seats in the smaller economy cabin behind PE. It was nearly empty and we had a middle row to ourselves. So did the couple behind us. Talk about joining the mile high club!!! They were covered by blankets but you could hear and see from the movements what they were doing. The stewardess had to tell them to calm down but she was blushing so much. We thought it was hilarious.
