What happens when it rains?

We are here today and walked back to our hotel a couple hours ago. It is now raining...and it has been for a few. We heard a lot of rides are **** down now. What happens when it rains at Disneyland? I've never experienced it. Will they cancel world of color? Are there any suggestion of things we could do instead of rides?

The Animation Building in DCA has lots of activities. Aladdin, the show, is a good choice.

All indoor rides will still be operating.

A lot of it depends on how much it is raining. The outdoor attractions will shut down if it starts raining hard enough anf long enough. I know Alice and the Tea Cups shut down, as well as Dumbo. BTMRR and the Mark Twain/Columbia also stop. I would guess other mainly outdoor non-water rides will also stop (e.g., Astro Orbitor, Canoes, etc.). F! runs a reduced show if it's wet, but might be cancelled if it raining hard enough at show time, but I think WoC will still go on (it's more impacted by wind).

We are setting in our motorhome now, just checked the radar and looks like one more little hit within an hour then clear skys. We are going back in, but just for a cpl hours.
I'm not sure if it does stop will they have the parade and fireworks?
After last nights madhouse I'm not sure I want to try that again.
Although the parade was great.

We usually love rain days, park tends to clear out the harder it rains and everyone is kind of enjoying the weather. Raining summer days are even better, since it is warm rain. (as a SoCal resident, we need every drop of this rain right now, and more if we could get it). :) Just be prepared for the wet (wet ride seats and the works, even when it stops), plan to enjoy it and you will!! :teleport:

Now I am not as sure about BTMRR...it was still raining/drizzling when it syarted back up. So that might have just been a coincidental closure.

I've Been on BTMRR in the rain before so it does run but I'm not sure if there's a point where it's raining too hard that they will shut down. It was quite the experience in the rain!

In my younger days we went as a group of kids 12-15 one time it rained. We went four straight times on POTC. It was great although we had to be careful running back to the line.

They'll cancel the parades if it's raining but the rainy day parade is fun. They shove some face characters on to the old timey cars and bus and they drive them down main street. It's a lot of fun and we enjoyed seeing it. Sadly not a full parade but something you don't see every day. Magic Kingdom has a "real" rainy day parade because it rains a lot there; California gets like zero rain so that's what they do.

Well, it rained a lot. The afternoon parade amd the first PtN was cancelled. Not sure about the 2nd PtN. And fireworks were cancelled.

The rain was a bit of a bust. I thought the parks would clear out but DL seemed as crowded as ever (at least the walkways).

As elaine amj pointed out, PtN was cancelled due to the rain. I spoke with a few CMs and they said that if it was raining or if the route was wet, the PtN parade wouldn't run. It'll be interesting to see what that means for the wintertime when rainy days will be much more common. The fireworks were not cancelled because of the rain (it was due to winds at higher elevations - the standard reason). F! was also cancelled on Saturday due to the rain.
