Yes, that has happened. It's very, very unusual, though, and only done if the resort you've booked happens to need the room you would have gotten, and they've got to move you, and there's nowhere to move you to at your original resort. Folks, it's important to distinguish between things that can happen and things that are likely to happen. Is it possible that Disney may bump you to another resort? Yes. Is it likely? Absolutely not. Is it something you need to lose sleep over? Nope. Keep in mind that thousands of people check into Disney resorts every single day of the year. Every day. Thousands. Are there huge masses of people being downgraded, or bumped to another resort every day? Nope. That's just not the case. The things we're talking about in this thread are unusual events. They're not the normal guest experience. The very great majority of guests will get exactly the room category that they booked, in the resort that they booked.
