To answer a few questions posted here. We are fortunate to have accumulated 1,000 BCV & 1,000 BWV points over the years.
We did this for several reasons. We use approximately 600-1,000 points each year ourselves with various trips to WDW. At least once a year with our four daughters and a couple of times a year with just me and my wife. The girls love WDW and can't wait to go back. Since we have been members (1996) we seem to always have visitors each time we go. This April we have a family reunion with 23 of my wife's family.
The other 1,000 points we rent out each year and have for the last 2 years. We mainly rent to friends and family but have rented on the DisBoard many times. We did this so we can give each of our four girls 250-350 points when then turn 30. My wife and I wanted to make sure that their children, our grandchildren, can experience WDW when they have kids of their own. We have never had a problem with renting and have calculated that we will have paid off the points with the rent that we charge in just over 17 years (based on what we paid when we purchased the points plus dues and taxes each year.) This will give them just over 20 years to enjoy WDW themselves.
If I could I would buy another 1,000. but you have to work some time.
