What do you do during the rainstorms whilst at WDW? :confused3

We went last September and we experience rain some afternoons for about an hour. Once we were stuck in one shop for ages (just a small one near pirates of the Caribbean pirate: ) as I had brand new baby pick cotton shoes on and didnÂ’t want to get them wet!

Other times we sat in our room and had a much needed rest or we went to inside attractions.

As we are going next September we are bound to experience more rain storms so I am curious as to what you all do during the rainstorms?

It depends on how heavy they are. If its bouncing off the ground then we just look for the nearest shelter and wait it out. This has proved to be an expensive option in the past as we have been known to take refuge in a really nice shop where I came out with a new watch, a pair of earrings, an ornament and an engraved glass! DH grumbled that it would have been cheaper to get wet and then buy dry clothes once the rain had stopped! :rotfl:
Other times the rain has been such a welcome relief that we've gone out and stood in it enjoying the coolness of it!

Waterproof?! Waterproof?!!!??! No way! I'm British and therefore immune to the effects of rain! When it rains it's the best time to go on coasters / outdoor rides while everyone else huddles in the dry.

It still amazes me the amount of people that buy macs / waterproofs before they go on water rides. Isn't the whole point of a water ride to get wet?!

    My sentiments exactly :teeth:

wait wait, you mean it rains at WDW? The Happiest Place on Earth? Where Dreams Come True? Surely not!!!! :faint: :beach:

We just get on with it. Heavy rainstorm? perfect for the open air rides, nice and quiet.

When it rains we just get wet, usually soaked and usually whilst we are at MGM....unless we are on Popeye's Barges at IOA.

I too refuse to wear a waterproof, to be honest I would rather get wet. :)

I like to think that it is Disney rain :rotfl:

Seriously though,we bought ponchos and got back out in it.On our last day the heavens opened just before the afternoon parade. It was so bad that we thought there was no chance of seeing it..but then down Main st came half the parade.Mickey was dry in his globe put poor Minnie, snow white etc were absolutely drowned.I figure if they can stand the rain then so can we.Mum and i were jumping up and down like loons waving at them (while everybody else hid in doorways-wimps).

We don't like getting wet  so we stay in the shops or try and head back to the hotel room with our umbrellas up and raincoats on! Either that or head for an indoor attraction.

If we are in the parks we normally just go with it, if its really bad with thunder and lightening we tend to take cover in a shop or indoor attraction, as Im a big scardy cat when it somes to storms  but if its just a downpour we stay out in it. :goodvibes

    I'm with Johnny here :)

We just carry on regardless (unless it is the sort of rain that is so hard it is painful in which case we cower in a shop ;) )

Exactly the same as we do when it doesn't rain...except for the swimming.

Can out of Misson scape once and the heavens opened up and there was about 6 inchs of water everywhere, we had to take shelter in a Restroom. We all got very wet, went to our Disney hotel changed went back and saw the fireworks as it all dried up.
