what do you cook from WDW

    Thought I would ask you all which recipes you cook from the wonderful restaurants at WDW. Some of the recipes I found are not all that good, which is probably due to the downsizing of the ingrediants to just serving 4-6 etc.

    One of the recipes I have found tobe really good is the Stir Fried Noodles from Ohana at the Poly, it has a great peanut sauce with it:)..we tend to add tofu to bulk it out for a main meal but I am sure it would be great with chicken as well.

    I am thinking of having a go at the Flourless Chocolate Cake from Boma's..I remember it as being really squidgy and light..Mine may well turn out looking like a biscuit:rotfl:

    Which ones have you tried and tested...? popcorn::

    We like the coconut chicken curry from Boma and the sticky peanut rice that goes with it. I've made it dozens of times and it's one of our absolute favourite meals.:)

    That's sounds right up my street. I think I may have to try this. So far I have not been brave enough to cook anything from WDW.

    I have also made the banana bread pudding! That is fab-u-lous..but its enough to feed an army. It freezes well though.

    I am intrigued by the cocoa cola bbq sauce recipe! I sort of want to try it but on the other hand it sounds rather revolting:)

    There are just so many to chose from on that site..I thought I would make the effort a week before we go and just do recipes from WDW..

    That does sound yummy...I would have to substitute the chicken as we are both vegies but that peanut rice is calling me.:thumbsup2

    Our only experiment has been Mickey waffles :lmao: Always a winner in our house though! :) Minus the bacon!

    I have cooked with Coke a few times. Nigella has a few recipes for cooking with Coke. The Coke Chocolate cake was nice, although my favorite was boiling ham in Coke. That was really lovely. Something to do with the acid breaking down the ham and the sugar just making it all sticky.

    I think the secret it to use the real thing and the full sugar (No diet or zero) versions. I would imagine coke BBQ marinade for ribs would be lovely.

    Yes I forgot them...we go through stages of using our Mickey Waffle maker..like you its minus the bacon.
    I think I am gonna dig it out of the cupboard and do some this week. Must add maple syrup to my shopping list (that is something I always bring home with me from USA as its loads cheaper).:)

    Thanks, I'll have a read before I go shopping tomorrow. With no WDW holiday planned I could do with a Disney fix.

    I bought a Mickey Waffle maker but find it takes about 4 minutes to cook just one (quite big) waffle. By the time the last one is ready (my one) every one else has eaten and I'm left eating all by myself.

    I've cooked Coke chicken wings, they were sticky and yummy.I also tried to make Hoop de Doo cornbread yesterday but it was a disaster.You could feel the crunch of the polenta, does anyone know maybe where I was going wrong, it looked right but tasted wrong, it was the recipe from Allears.

    There are different grades of cornmeal/polenta, so I wounder if maybe you chose one that needed a slightly longer cooking time..:confused3 Or it could just be a rubbish recipe.

    I made the banana bread pudding last night. BUT..I substituted the double cream with coconut milk because I forgot to buy the cream and added some coconut to the mix and sprinkled some on top as well..if I say so myself it was an improvement on the original...Just call me Nigella from now on:rotfl:

    sad though this is...I usually bring back a few boxes of ready to make cornbread from publix..I think I had to add a can of creamed sweetcorn and an egg and that was it, bung it in the oven and hey presto it was surprisingly good! So obviously thats been of no use to you what so ever:)

    Ok, thanks i think;) I'll keep searching.There is an American food shop not far from me, i might go and take a look for some cornbread mix:thumbsup2

    Also, i know this isn't Disney but last trip we went to Bubba Gumps and had Hush Puppies,they were amazing.Anyone have the recipe or something similar?

    I cook the cheese soup from Le Cellier and the tiramisu from Victoria and Alberts. I also make the BBQ sauce from Flame Tree BBQ. I have the Mickey and Friends cook book which has recipes in from the Disney parks and hotel restaurants. I have made a few other things from it too, but those are the things I make the most.

    The Cheese soup is the one thing that I am always tempted by. Is it difficult to make?

    No, it is quite easy. The recipe makes a huge portion and you can't scale it down due to the beer in it (although I guess you could drink some of the beer if you like it! lol)
