What company or who is the best place to book a Disney cruise through?

Considering booking a cruise for February, 2016. Have checked with Dreams Unlimited and have a quote from them.

What is the best place to book a cruise through that would have the most incentives?

Also, do you recommend pre-paid tipping? Travel insurance? We'd be leaving out of Port Canaveral and would be arriving in Orlando 4 days prior to the cruise (airfare already booked)

There are many good TAs but we are not allowed to post their names here as DU sponsor this forum. its worth a google search.

search authorised specialist DCL travel agents.

I always pre pay tips so I do not have to worry about it and budget.

Do buy travel insurance but not through DCL.

We prefer to book directly with DCL...that way they are responsible for everything, including getting us there. My daughter requires vehicles with lifts or ramps and we have found it easier to deal directly with DCL....their service and follow through has always been excellent. Always recommend travel insurance, whether through DCL or whoever you are comfortable with. We like to pre-pay our tips, it is just easier when budgeting. You can always change the amounts once on board if you feel you need to.

The rule about TAs is that if we mention them we have to put their URL. If their company isn't allowed to be mentioned, then it will look like this: xxxxxx.com when you post it or Preview the post.

Definitely try Dreams Unlimited, to see what they have (ot going to do the URL thing because I'm 100% sure they haven't banned themselves).

We like booking through www.costcotravel.com. We like the Costco giftcard you get after the cruise, and it's a decent amount of money. (I think people have figured that it's 8% of the fare?) But I need no handholding, so I don't need a super helpful TA. For our first cruise we used www.mouseunlimited.com and they were very helpful.

I have booked three cruises with DCL on their website. Very very easy. Have always made our own air travel arrangements as we like to arrive several (1-2) days before cruise trip to enjoy local area and be sure to arrive in plenty of time. I don't think u need a TA any longer.

I don't need a travel agent, but I use one for cruises so I can get the onboard credit incentives. If an incentive wasn't offered, I would book directly with DCL.

We use DU and have been really happy with Kristie. I will be honest the main reason we use a TA is the OBC. When you add the OBC from DCL to the OBC from DU it makes it worth it to use a them. We also received a really nice welcome gift when we sailed out of PC.

I originally booked on board last week and had them list the TA my father law used. But after finding out he got no rewards, no OBC I decided to have it released from her so now I am considering other TA's as well and Dreams Unlimited keeps coming up in all my searches.

I won't tell my father in law but he paid for three staterooms, over $20k and got not $1 in OBC by using his TA and I basically did all the planning and organizing. She never asked him if we needed Disney transfers, if we were interested in any amenities (beer mug, spa day passes, etc.) and she lives directly across the street from him. I know it's not the TA's job to educate their customers about their vacations, but I figured since at least she wasn't offering any OBC's she would at least help him out on something but nope, that was my job.

Try using Cruise Compete. It will get your quotes from various agencies. I used the site yesterday and basically started a bidding war for my business between agencies. PM me and I'll tell you who gave me the best quote/incentives.

I always book through DCL. My first cruise was booked over the phone. 2nd cruise was booked while on first cruise. 3rd and 4th cruise was booked over the phone. DCL CM are always
there to help with any questions and I have asked quite a few. Enjoy your cruise :donald:

Can you tell me why not buy travel insurance through DCL ??

We've used Dreams Unlimited, specifically Tracey Heinrichs, for over a dozen cruises. Always good service.

Why not give them a try and support the folks that bring us the DIS Boards. :disrocks:

I have done it myself and with an agent. I am using Dream Unlimited for the next one for the on board credit. I like that they primarily use email - as that works best for me. I'm using Beth F. Great agent as well.

In regards to pre paying your tips, it's up to you. There's no hard financial advantage in doing so as the recommended amount doesn't change. If you know you will at least pay the recommended amount, you can always pre-pay and then if you want to pay a CM extra you could always add to it during your cruise. We just pay them on board.

We don't need hand holding, so I look for the best monetary reward from the agent. For us, that is Costco. We get a big Costco card at the end of the trip. Since we shop frequently at Costco, this is a nice perk. It ends up being 2-3 months worth of groceries from there. Onboard credit isn't for me.

we use small world TA and they have good onboard credits. It's disney approved. Cost the same amount as booking through the DCL site.....we just also got OBC which is awesome. You don't have to have it paid in full until 75 days out which I assume is standard for all TA.
