We've got Deluxe APs but we're out of DVC points! A year of Disneyland trips- updated 6/27!

Did you make your spa reservation?

YES!!!! I did just now! For 1PM so early lunch or maybe I cut out early and leave Fran with the check! But that gives me about an hour afterwards to get ready for dinner and happy hour! I'll have to update my thread. I sooooooo need some fun and pampering. This weekend is going to be awesome! All the girls and pseudo girls :rotfl2: please take me away!

I need to start my list of when to thaw things and get stuff going for beforehand!

Yay for the spa ressie! I cannot wait! It's the only thing getting me through the next 2 weeks of work.

This and her appointment with the Dr. next Tuesday. If she can start bearing weight on her foot I will be over joyed! And then the party, I can't wait. I'm just going through the motions until we get there.

Um proof of my Grimaldi's Obsession:
1. I had a friend ask me recently if we would move back to Las Vegas and I said "If I won a year's supply of Grimaldi's I would" :worship:
2. I had my baby shower in Vegas and requested Grimaldi's pizza as the food (which my gorgeous friends accommodated) and when my DD was 8 days old I took her there because it was around the corner from my house and I was craving it. I have a pic where she looks like a doll in my arms and I'm shoving pizza in my mouth
3. I worked for the World Series of Poker and last year when I wasn't there had Grimaldi's send pizzas to the media room at The Rio Hotel to say "hi" to former coworkers and you would have thought I walked on water!!!

OMG I'm gonna buy that mug in July - gorg!
Looks like a fun trip and you're a fun Mommy :lovestruc

Props friend for giving one of the most accurate dining recommendations ever! Grimaldi's was just as you described.

Love the baby story! That's fantastic!

Feel free to send Grimaldi's here.;) We have a few decent thin crust pizza places but nothing that compares.

I can't believe I'll miss you by 6 days in July. :(

Thank you! I try to be a fun mommy. I think we are a fun family. :cloud9:

All the girls and pseudo girls: definitely a trip report title option!

party: Two weeks! party:

Hoping her appointment goes exceptionally well.

Pam, I had a crazy dream about us last night. Ozzy was in it too.

After a typical interrupted hotel night sleep, I was up by 5:30 am. I wanted to go down and grab some yummy hot free breakfast before heading into the parks. I was not disappointed; even the coffee tasted good. I did bring my own creamer. Its in the fridge pic. ::yes:: I am one of those.

The parks opened at 8 that day. We did;t have access to EMH/MM so we decided to do the park opposite the extra hour. Disneyland was our destination! :lovestruc The first shuttle left the ES at 7:15; 45 minutes before official park opening. We were all ready, walked outside at 7:10, saw the line for the shuttle, and decided to drive. :lmao: We are just too old to battle for shuttle seats and deal with strollers and people's children. ;) I know that sounds terrible and that we are out Disney but if you've been on a shuttle, you know what I mean.

Michael was game for driving and that made me happy.

We arrived to the parking structure at about 7:25; a little later than I wanted but no later than the shuttle would have dropped up.

We pulled up to pay our $17, Disney music blaring, and happy shiny faces smiling. The CM smiled and asked if we were celebrating anything. I told him that Michael's birthday was just a few days before, he said wonderful, chatted another minute about where we were from, and asked me to hold on....All the while Michael tapping his fingers because there I go chatting and being friendly again. :lmao:

The CM returns and tells us we are the Mickey and Friend's Guest of the Day. :woohoo: Now what the heck does it mean? Well it meant we got free front row parking all day- even when we came back after our break. We got an escort to the park a cute certificate.

Tim was our sweet escort who took us to our spot. Of course I had to get his photo.

It was such a magical way to begin the day! Soon glad we opted out of the shuttle.

Because we used the parking garage we had to take the tram to bag check. Its been years since I've been on the tram but it brought back loads of happy childhood memories.

Once off the tram and through security, we had about 10 minutes until park opening. It wasn't crowded and I wanted my crew not to get a false sense of security because it was Spring Break and it would get packed. I hate being right. ;)

The allowed us in the park and then to the ropes. Ahhhh, back on Main St is where I love to be. :cloud9: I didn't get any Main St pics that morning because my family is always too hyped to stop during the first morning.

I did stand back and get this. I caught up to them.

We decided we wanted to start in Adventureland. Its our collective favorite. I had a date with a handsome Dr. Jones!

The CM chatted a little, we counted down, and she dropped the rope. Everyone did that weird run/walk thing.

Indy was a walk on so we decided to grab FPs too.

We never have to walk through the queue but today we did so I took advantage and got a few photos. Every pic was taken with my iPhone. We brought the big camera but wanted to travel light.

After Indy, we headed to POTC. After POTC we went to BTMRR where we grabbed FPs

And rode without FPs. Thats my favorite early morning thing to do. Grab FPs, ride, and then use the FPs at the end of the window time.

BTMM selfie:

After BTMRR we got a churro

And then went on HM. Its been a while since we've done HM without the NBC overlay. I forgot how great it is!

I went a little overboard with the pics.

To be continued.....

This is why I don't like riding the bus or shuttle to the DLR and why I stay at walking distance hotels since the transportation can be very busy first thing in the morning and late at night when the park closes. Even though you had to pay for parking at the Mickey & Friends Parking structure, that is so neat you were selected as the Mickey & Friends guest of the day.

Very nice day at DL where you were able to go on Indy, BTMRR & HM. Very nice selfie shot when riding BTMRR at the end.

Bret, we didn't have to pay that day. We got free front row parking! :woohoo: It was awesome! I agree; walking distance is the only way to go......if possible.

My mistake, I didn't read it carefully when I saw the price. That was great that you were able to get free front row parking. I do feel bad when you didn't get to use the ES shuttle to the Transportation Plaza that morning.

Awesome start to your day! Major pixie dust on the family of the day no charge! Plus you got a lot of rides in without having to use your FP right away!

I will always look for within walking distance unless a hotel has a true dedicated shuttle.

It was a wonderful morning. It's so worth the total exhaustion for us to rope drop. I feel like I wake up half alseep but once we arrive, the excitement sets in.

Yay for parking pixie dust! How fun!

Jill in CO

We have had a lot of pixiedust but never parking lot pixiedust. I didn't know it existed!

party: 2 weeks!!! party:

What great pixie dust to start your day. Nothing better than free parking! So, I thought you had an AP there. Don't you get free parking with that? Just curious.

Love that they still have the old FP system.

The indie ride looks very cool. Love the pics. And what's not to like about two rides on BTMM. One of my absolute favorites!

Pam, I had a crazy dream about us last night. Ozzy was in it too. [/CENTER]

 Can you believe it's been a year since our cruise? I just realized that the other day. Time really does fly sometimes.

What a fabulous first morning. Too cool about the parking lot pixie dust! Loving all those cute pics of you guys :) did it feel weird to be there without Gabby?

You got a lot of rides in! I can't wait to go back :hyper:

After we checked in to the ES and made it to our room, we unpacked completely and then headed to DTD. In all honesty, I knew it wouldn't be a late night. Joshua was feeling whooped from his multiple games in the 90* weather and the rest of us, well somehow the driving took it out of us.

Yay, you are at Disneyland.

I received a coupon for a free birthday sandwich and because we don't have EOS in Utah, it was use it now or let it expire. I had read they brought the Cannonball back (their meatball sub).

I still have not made it to EOS and I had two free vouchers. The did not have the cannonball then and there was nothing that grabbed me. However, on my next trip I will pretty much stick to quick service so I may finally try it.

Our plan wasn't to really buy anything the first night, just walk around, soak it in, and do some window shopping but when I saw the below, I couldn't resist....having a graduate and all.

I love the graduation ears.

I saw this mug and how cute is it?!?! I wanted it but had my eye on another Disney mug. I like to buy a new one every trip and I am glad I waited though I may buy this one during Alison's BIG 50 trip in just over two weeks.

For some reason I cannot figure out how to quote a photo, but I love that mug. I hope that you manage to get this on your next trip.

We arrived back about 7:25 and I realized that our Manager's Reception still had 5 minutes left. I know they close those rather promptly so Michael dropped me in the front while he parked the car. The manager was funny because as I was running in she said: you better grab two drinks each, we're closing up soon. LOL!

Talk about perfect timing.

I am glad that I am not the only one that does this. I always blame it on jetlag, but maybe it is just pure excitement.

What a great thing to happen.

Indy was a walk on so we decided to grab FPs too.

I don't think I have ever seen Indy being a walk on even if the parks are really quiet.

And rode without FPs. Thats my favorite early morning thing to do. Grab FPs, ride, and then use the FPs at the end of the window time.

You definitely got lucky that morning.

And then went on HM. Its been a while since we've done HM without the NBC overlay. I forgot how great it is!

I have been spoiled with the NBC overlay. I really love that and when I am at Disneyland at other times of the year and do Haunted Mansion I now feel something is missing.

Can't wait, can't wait!

Anyone else bringing a swimsuit in case we want to use the hot tub? I love GCH hot tub. :cloud9:

WE do have APs but we didn't buy parking with it. Parking was extra and while I cannot find the exact amount now but it didn't seem we would recoup our cost. The days we will be at Disney have increased so purchasing parking may have been a better idea.

 Can you believe it's been a year since our cruise? I just realized that the other day. Time really does fly sometimes.

It has?! I can't believe it. We miss you and I can't believe we haven't seen you in a year.

It did feel a little weird without Gabby but I guess that's something we will have to get use to. So crazy. I feel a myriad of emotions at all times. We need a nice phone chat to catch up and talk about October too. :woohoo:

We did get a lot in. Rope drop is the only way to go. With Splash, Matterhorn, and Peter Pan all down...we could feel the crowds later in the day. Three major attractions are a lot to have down at once. Four if you count Soarin' in DCA.

Yay, you are at Disneyland.

It's simply the best! :lovestruc

The Original is good if you like horseradish. I think that's the one Alison likes too. It's usually my first choice if they don't have the Cannonball.

I love the graduation ears.

I can't wait to get them embroidered.

For some reason I cannot figure out how to quote a photo, but I love that mug. I hope that you manage to get this on your next trip.

Isn't it cute? I hope its still there.

I am glad that I am not the only one that does this. I always blame it on jetlag, but maybe it is just pure excitement.

I seem to be able to rally, run on fumes, and stay fairly fun and lucid the whole trip. LOL! I was up every morning that early and would bring my crew hot yummy food to the room. The room had a full table with chairs so it was easy to eat. I can't do bed eating in a hotel. :crazy2:

What a great thing to happen.

It was fun to experience some magic in an unexpected place if that makes sense.

I don't think I have ever seen Indy being a walk on even if the parks are really quiet.

Indy first is our typical plan of action. That part of the park seems to get the most congested so we like to OD on Indy first thing so if we don't make it back it's ok.

I have been spoiled with the NBC overlay. I really love that and when I am at Disneyland at other times of the year and do Haunted Mansion I now feel something is missing.

Corinna

I love it too. My kids feel like you do.

It has?! I can't believe it. We miss you and I can't believe we haven't seen you in a year.

When I realized it the other day I couldn't believe how fast the year has gone. Of course that's now that it's gone, when I was in it it took forever!!!

It did feel a little weird without Gabby but I guess that's something we will have to get use to. So crazy. I feel a myriad of emotions at all times. We need a nice phone chat to catch up and talk about October too. :woohoo:

I'm so excited to get back to DL! When's good for you? I'm working today, but not this evening or tomorrow.

We did get a lot in. Rope drop is the only way to go. With Splash, Matterhorn, and Peter Pan all down...we could feel the crowds later in the day. Three major attractions are a lot to have down at once. Four if you count Soarin' in DCA.

All of those down at once? During Spring Break???

At this point we had Indy and BTMRR FPs to be used. :woohoo:

On the way to the little girl's room I took this. Still not loving the logo but it's growing on me.

I came back to find Michael and Chloe taking a selfie while Joshua ran to Space to grab FPs. One of the upsides to having a soccer playing teenage boy is that he can run for days.

I had to get in on the action!

Joshua came back with Space FPs in hand and we rode Indy and BTMRR one more time before heading to Tomorrowland.

On the road trip we all decided that we would venture out and not ride the same 10 things over and over. I was very happy about this.

Missing my favorite:

We decided not to ride Space standby and would wait until our FPs were ready. I like Space but its by no means my favorite and my family usually ODs on it at the end of the night while I chill on Main St. Instead we decided to ride NEMO! I have grown to love it and we generally miss it.

Perfect palms while waiting:

And we 're on. The line was less than 20 minutes. Michael LOVES to time the line and we all make guesses on how long we'll wait.

After Nemo we grabbed an early lunch at Tommowland Terrace. It was just after 11 am. I can't believe how much we got done. The burgers were actually really really good. I am not a huge fan of Tomorrowland Terrace but it hit the spot. We got two cheeseburgers to share with an extra side of fries.

Our Space window opened so we grabbed FPs for Star Tours and rode Space.

After Space we hit Buzz. Now when I say we I mean Michael and I. The line said 30 minutes so the big kids hopped in line while the little kids went shopping. :lmao: The kids ended up shopping and missing the ride but not us!

A few pics while in line. It wrapped around by Pixie Hollow which was kind of cool:

Buzz wanted to be in the selfie:

Buzz is always a good time especially when I kick Michael's BUTT!

I knew we would only last another hour or two tops so we decided to grab Dole Floats and hit Fantasyland before our Space FPs would open up at if memory serves, 1:30ish.

Heaven on Earth. We got two to share. We are big into sharing.

We headed over to Fantasyland. We had a date with a Wild Ride and a Toad.

While in the queue:

After Toad we were close to hitting our wall. We wouldn't make it to Star Tours so Michael wanted to find a family and gave the FPs away. Such a good guy. :lovestruc

On the way out something really fun happened......

To be continued....

This evening is great! Joshua has a game in Park City but we should be home about 6 pm.

I know, it seemed like an excessive amount of closures especially during Spring Break but with the 60th and all, I can understand.

Its funny how time flies. I told Joshua it's been a year and he can't believe it!
