I am not really sure. I know the wedding cake comes with my package. I am sure just putting a couple extra dollars in for your server and head server would be greatly appreciated.
No real need to tip. Just note it in your reservation and tell them what night you want to actually celebrate it. The Head Server is the one that places all of the orders in and brings it out with your regular servers. Some of the additional table servers, your asst. server and server and the head server all come to the table to sing Happy Birthday. My cousin's little girls actually got it in three different languages sung to her. Since these are the people you tip normally, no need to at the time of the celebration. It is really quick and flawless. No planning needed. Sometimes people do not even mention their b-day and the staff notices with the reservation that it is and surprise them this way.
Heard back from DCL Weddings and she talked to the pastry chef and said that he will do red roses, a red border or both. NOW I HAVE TO MAKE A CHOICE!!! ERRGGh...I was not wanting options. I just wanted them to do their thing. Any suggestions?
I don't agree with the no tip for the cake...I did put something extra in my head servers envelope...tips are for excellent service and getting us an extra cake was excellent!
I would tell them to have the chef use his best judgement as to what looks good. They are professionals, and will know how to add red with being overwhelming. If you get too specific, it could restrict what they need to do to make the cake beautiful!
Was not saying not to give the HS a little extra if you choose. Was letting you know it is a position you already tip for. No need to make EXTRA request or tip an ADDITIONAL person. I just want that to be clear since it has been taken that I said NOT to tip. I was not saying that, just letting you know you did not have to SEEK someone out. Believe me, my HEAD SERVER leaves VERY VERY happy when we cruise. I put it this way, he walks away with at least 200-300% more than the recommended. We actually count on our head server and have a better relationship with him than the table Server. We are the table that people on here comment about; saying we do not think the HS does much, I did not ever see him as he spent all of his time at one table..... I want to comment, if cruising with us, it was our table-sorry. We have a lot of food issues and therefore we are always THAT SPECIAL table... So, I just wanted to clarify since I think DisneyDmbNut took my post the wrong way. I was saying no need to tip cake night, it can be taken care of at the end of the cruise all of which will make sense even prior to tip night.
