That lobster looks great! I wonder how it compares to Narccoossees?

I would say it's definitely worth the trip, and the two dining credits. While our service could have been better, our food was outstanding!

Well, I did end up ordering the lobster on our last night from Narccoossees. I think the lobster at Narccoossees was better. But the one from Fulton's was still very good, and I enjoyed the stuffing a lot! The only difference is that Fultons really gives you the whole lobster, not broken down at all.

That really surprises me about Kip. We've had him twice and he's been awesome! My younger DD really loved him. I hope you just had him on a bad day and his service hasn't actually declined that badly.

I'm sure it was just a bad day for him. It can happen to anyone, at any restaurant and our experience with him would not deter us from going again.

Joining in! Ugh, it really cheeses me off when you have poor service like that (where the waiter disappears) and you are still expected to tip them the customary amount :sad2: It makes me cringe thinking about what kind of service you guys had that was bad enough to speak to a manager. But at least you had an experience that was good enough to speak to a manager as well.

Yummy!!! We have been going to Disney for years and never tried Fulton's. You may have convicted us to give it a try.

That Miami Vice looks so refreshing. I had my first in Jamaica a few years ago and loved it. #PoolSideDrinks

Well thank you! That may be the first time I have ever gotten a compliment on my photography! Go me!

Our good experiences far outnumbered our negative experiences. Overall though, we did experience pretty slow service throughout our trip. Not bad service, just meals taking upwards of 2 hours, and not for signatures. At our Raglan Road reservation, we elected to sit outside because it was a gorgeous day. We were there long enough that we both got SUN BURNED.

    Welcome!

    You're welcome!

I didn't try it as I was too focused on my amazing margarita, but it was gone in a flash, so it must have been good!

After a successful morning at Magic Kingdom, we took the boat over to the Polynesian for lunch. We checked in at Kona about 10 minutes before our ADR time.

We were seated and told our server would be Harold. A little foreshadowing for our meal...when we arrived, a man told his family to leave and go on ahead without him. Then, when his server came by, he asked if he wanted to charge the meal to his room. He said no way, he just wanted his check so he could pay cash and get out of there. He had clearly been waiting for a while. His server also happened to be our server.

Now, having paid myself through college waiting tables and bartending, I understand that slow service is not usually the servers fault. Our food was served at the correct temperature, so I would say the slow service likely stemmed from the fact that A) The restaurant was completely full at 1:30 and B) The kitchen was pretty behind.

That being said, Harold was not attentive and never checked in with us to let us know that it would be just a little while longer or ask how our meals were. Our service was just adequate.

However, I am happy to report that our food was outstanding, and was very much worth the wait. We were looking forward to heading back here later in the week.

For appetizers, we were super excited to find out that the rumors that sushi was now on the lunch menu were 100% accurate, so we both started there.

    Megan had this...

Crab Rangoon - crab salad rolled in Nori, tempura fried and served with won tons and eel sauce $11.99

This was so so SO good! It was served hot and crispy and tasted like a crab rangoon. It was a great choice!

    I went with this...

Volcano Roll - Spicy Tuna Seafood Lau'ai with Tempura Crunch $14.99

This was delicious! It had some wonderful, fresh tuna in the center, along with carrots and scallions. It was surrounded by little mounds of delicious seafood salad and the sauce was a sweet, almost mango-y.

We both resisted the urge to lick our plates clean.

    For entree's, Megan went with...

Pan-Asian Noodles with Shrimp - Yakisoba Noodles, Wok-seared with Vegetables in a Ginger-Garlic Sauce $17.99

These were good, but not exactly what she was expecting. The sauce was extremely sweet, much more like teriyaki sauce. This was also an incredibly large portion.

I went with this (really sorry about the bite!)

Grilled Ahi Tuna Sandwich - served with Pickled Vegetable Slaw on our Pineapple Bread with Sweet Potato Fries $13.99

It was a difficult choice between this and the fish tacos, but I was glad that I went with the sandwich. I ordered the tuna medium rare. I could have seriously just eating the bread with the spicy mayo they put on there, but everything else was great too! This too was a HUGE piece of Tuna for a sandwich, I couldn't finish it.

By the time Harold came to give us dessert menus, we had been left alone long enough that our meals had settled and we were simply too full to even think about dessert. We settled the check and waddled back to the monorail...

Your meal at Kona looks wonderful. I have heard a lot recently about how bad the service is there, which is a shame because to me it has one of the best looking menus for B, L and D.

I haven't been there for breakfast since their first trip, but we had both lunch and dinner on our last trip and it was awesome! Breakfast was also great when we went! There are a few places I would tolerate slow service at if the food is good enough, and Kona is one of those places!

Hey! Sorry I didn't get in at the beginning, but I'm here now and can't wait to read your reviews :)
By the way, I gave up cheese for Lent and my victory meal the day after Easter is totally going to be your mac and cheese (with beer) you posted about in your PTR! I already can't wait! :thumbsup2

Wonderful Reviews! I can't wait to read more!

Kona is unfortunately a place we have had horrible/non-existant service several times and my husband has said he will NEVER eat there again.

Also unfortunately my husband is allergic to most seafood so his diet is quite the opposite of yours and places like Fultons and Narcoosee's just dont make it into our Dining Rotations.
