    Hey all!

I am booking for next May (1-16th) and am planning on diving my trip between a week at CSR, 4 days at Universal, and then my remaining days at another WDW - I;d love one with a beach so we can chill out a bit before we come home.

I've looked at the Poly, and its more expensive for 3 nights there than 9 at CSR, I'm happy to pay if the beach here (or the GF) are worth these prices. I realize the prices are also higher for their Monorail and location.

But what are your opinions on the other beaches that can be found at WDW hotels?

Are the ones at CBR and Saratoga Springs usable? Or just for show?

You can use the beaches at CBR. You aren't allowed to swim in any of the WDW lakes.

    Thanks for your reply!

Wow, that seems weird, my brochure from Virgin Holidays has people in them! A bit misleading!!

There is a fresh water amoeba in the lakes here in FL. They live in the shallow water. If they get in your system they can cause death.

    Eeee. Good reason then! Lol!

So are all the beaches pretty for sunbathing? Do they get very crowded at the cheaper resorts?

As is mentioned, swimming is out of the question, but if you are looking to relax on the beach, the Wilderness lodge is a lot less expensive than the Poly. The Yacht and Beach Club has a nice beach area, although it is about the same price as the Poly. IMHO the beach/pool and bar area at the Swan/Dolphin is fantastic and also has close access to the Boarwalk. You can also get a room for under $200.00

We have stayed at CSR twice and loved it. They do have a beach area with hammocks. I have never seen this are in use by any guests, so crowded... no! You could also stretch out on a towel in the sand to sunbathe.
