So why does this work for the California Coast Repo? PV and Cabo are more distant than Vancouver and Victoria. :scratchin

I keep hearing about wine packages... but ones that you can sign up for on your first night in the dining rotation. I'm assuming these are separate from what's available for order on the DCL website?

What do these entail? How much are they (for the whole 14-nights)?

The only time a DISTANT foreign port is required is when a cruise is sailing from one US port to a different US port. The repo doesn't require it because Vancouver is a Canadian port, not a US port. This is why, when DCL sailed Alaska out of Seattle, the repo to get there went to Vancouver and then the first Alaska sailed from Vancouver and ended in Seattle. Subsequent cruises were closed-loop from Seattle, so Victoria counted as a foreign stop since a DISTANT stop was not required on a closed-loop US port origin cruise.

The wine packages on the website are exactly the same as what's offered by your server in the dining rooms. If you want 14 bottles of wine, you buy two 7-night packages. You can also select smaller packages; on our honeymoon a couple at our table bought a three-night package for a seven-night cruise.

I believe you are allowed to take two bottles off the ship with you through customs when you disembark at the end; I don't know if that's per person or not.

Jealous - enjoy your week! If our vacation $ didn't go to DCL, it would certainly go to WDW. I am waiting 'til the girls are brave enough to ride "the good rides" - eight years in Fantasyland is my limit!

    Good Morning, Happy Cruisers!

Knee deep in packing boxes here, so barely any time to think about cruising.

That would be correct! Cartagena is a LOVELY city. We took a private tour hit the highlights, did some shopping, and had lunch. I didn't see one "drug smuggler, prostitute, or man with gun". Can't WAIT to go back.

Aruba is nice, but you can see it all in one day and if you've seen it once, you've seen it all.

    Happy Day, All!

Oh, I didn't know that. Cool, thanks for sharing! I'll have to see if there are any threads about the tours there from previous cruisers.

I think the 2008 Eastbound went to Cartegena as well.
