This may seem like an odd questions - a friend of mine recently went on a Carnival Cruise and she said the water in the pools is actually salt water (from the ocean??). Is this true on DCL too? (Can you tell I've never been on a cruise!! )

Disney pools do not have salt water.

They have filtered salt water. Can't really tell its from the ocean at all.

Desalinated water (sp)....it is sea water that has been purified and the salt removed and cholorinated....so it is just like fresh water!!!

The Carnival cruise I went on, 9 years ago, had salt water in the pool. If I remember correctly, they drain them at night and refill them in the morning. I hate the feeling of salt water drying on my skin.

It was a nice surprise, on our first DCL cruise, to find out that DCL fills their pools with desalinated water.

Does anyone know which cruise lines desalinate and which have salt water pools?
