Resort Thread Walt Disney World SWAN, DOLPHIN & SWAN RESERVE Resorts

Can anyone tell me about requesting a microwave? Are they available? Do they charge? Sorry if I missed this - I've read quite a few pages but didn't see anything mentioned. Thx so much!
No microwaves for the rooms. There are microwaves located on several floors by the ice machines. Not sure which floors or if they are still available during the pandemic.

I know several people who have purchased small, very inexpensive ones once there in Orlando and then just left them behind when departing.

It’s been so long since I’ve been on this board! Long time dolphin fan but due to COVID and the increase in point values we have taken a break from staying here. But we miss it! At the end of March we have an offsite trip with one night at a hotel before we check into our condo. We have a DS Hilton booked Bc we just don’t want to use our Marriott points. But....we would love to spend time at Dolphin on our check out hotel day/check into condo day. I was just reading about Resort Pass which I guess is an outside company that reserves chairs for you? Anyone know more? Also, I swear I saw that you could also purchase a Day Pass at Swolphin - am I making this up? How else could we spend some time at our fave hotel and justify the parking costs? Thanks!!!!!

Interesting. I've never heard of either but would like to hear about it if anybody has heard of it.

Now I'm curious. Reserve a chair where? At the pool? How would that even work?

According to the site, you choose which pool and if you want a chair or cabana. There is an adult price and a child price. There are reviews as well.

If it was a pool that normally had chairs reserved, I could see the company arranging it. But are chairs reserved at Swan & Dolphin pools? If the chairs aren't reserved, then how could the company reserve then for you? That's what I find confusing.

Switching from YC to Dolphin 1 BR For late March. Is Dolphin appreciably less convenient than Swan to walk to HS and/or Epcot. Feels like not that big a diff.

and as to resort pass look at www.resortpass.Com. Looks like another moviepass.

Thank you Dan! That would be awesome if they still have them at some ice machines. I want to be able to heat leftovers from the restaurants we have selected for every night of the trip (Shula's, Chef Arts, Boathouse, etc.) - thinking they would make great lunches the next day as we aren't big eaters. Fingers crossed!

I just called Guest Services. Right now, due to the COVID, microwaves are only located in Fuel at the Dolphin and Java at the Swan. Probably a sanitizing issue.

Wow beyond kind of you! Thank you so much - we will indeed go there to reheat (and also purchase something :)

Dumb question, but is that Resort Pass thing legit? I guess a way for hotel owners with low occupancy to utilize their amenities to generate some revenue? Curious of the business arrangement there.

What is the advantage of calling in house reservations versus using the Marriott online website? Is it the ability to make requests?

Explain the points side of this a bit more... do you get any discount on points on the 2nd room? Or full pts cost on both?

I never received a discount on a second room purchased with points.

I usually reserve a 2 bedroom executive suite, but things have changed since the Marriott merger. I haven't tried suite rewards yet, as I only became Platinum in the last year.
Suites have become more restrictive over time. 10 years ago, I used to reserve the 2 bedroom suite entirely with points, over the last 5 years or so, it was a combo of points and cash (you would reserve 2 rooms on points and pay $200 for the suite upgrade). Before the renovation, the "parlor" portion of the suite had a King Murphy bed, essentially getting us a 3 bedroom.

It was 120K points for 5 days for the whole suite up until 7 years ago or so. God what a deal that was. Oh, times have changed....

ETA: considering the Swan in 2022, so if you find out anything, please post here.
