Loved all of your updates Erin!

I think you were able to get a lot accomplished in AK... See, we do things differently... First we do EE a bazillion times... Then we do the Safari... Then we do FoLK... Then it's a free for all... Oh yes, the jalepeno pretzels...

I loved all the pictures with V, especially the ones of her and Tink.

I just love everything about AK - I am so glad that the girls and I made it a 2 day park. :)

    Erin!!!

Just stumbled across your trip report and love reading it! Still can't believe that we weren't able to meet up while at WDW. FYI, for those not knowing, my son, DGD and I were at WDW overlapping Erin and V's.... we chatted via email and planned to have the girls get together, even stayed POR in a Royal Room in OAK Manor, but just never managed to catch up with each other... so close!

My DGD loves the Wonderland Tea Party, and like V, is she very shy. Our first trip, I wasn't sure if she would even go, as she always wanted someone to be with her, but when it came time, she was running into the tea party.

Love all of V's outfits, especially the cruise dress... My DGD tends to like to wear the same outfit over and over when in Disney. Last year, she wore the same dress every day! All the pictures have the same dress. You are very talented in sewing and V is very lucky to have such a devoted friend in you!

Sounds like you two had a wonderful time and I'm joining in to read the rest of the trip report! I'm hoping to return this summer, but don't know if we will. If we do, maybe we'll overlap and will make some definite plans to get the girls together!

    All the best, Karen

I know our schedules were so opposite and I was so hard to get a hold of phone/txt wise. Did you change your Screen name?

Ha ha thats funny about wearing the same dress. For asthetic scrapbooking purposes I couldn't let v do that lol It wasn't uncommon for her to wear something different for dinner as you will see as the TR progresses!

I've always been Cinderella909, although I think tink909 would be much more a kindred spirit for for me. Hear it's difficult to change your name, so Cinderella909 it stays!

Just don't know how people manage to have meet and greets with other dis/liners. My schedule just doesn't seem to fit things in, even though we're there for seven days, there's just too much to do. And, we seem to miss a lot while we are there, but then we do so much while we are there! If that makes any sense?!??!

While I do not scrapbook (it would become too addictive), I do do photo books. Although, I stopped working on the photobook, I hope to restart in Feburary.

Can't wait to hear more and see more pictures! V is so cute with her hair! She make a beautiful Merida!

    All the best, Karen

    Hello everyone!
Real Life Update. I've been totally non existant on the boards for the last week. Yesterday was my scrapbooking crop event day.

It is SO MUCH WORK. We donate some money to MS Research ($5 from each scrapbooker plus raffle ticket sales) and we make a bit of a profit which is saving towards a Disney trip for my parents and I.

Well we have another booked for May 11th and it is a Disney World Themed Crop. So I put together a little video (okay 10 min long) of video clips and pictures of V at Disney to introduce our next crop. so I'm showing this video to 47 ladies and while they are watching it I'm standing at the front of the room reading an email from V's mom and then I get to this part.

DO YOU WANT TO TAKE HER TO DISNEY IN AUGUST? pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

My response, in the middle of this video that some people were watching, but most were just chatting and continuing their scrapbooking, I yell out I"M GOING TO DISNEY WORLD THIS SUMMER!

How freaking perfect and embarrassing was it to find out at that time! The ladies seriously must have thought I was off my rocker and more than 6 months ahead so I can plan and you know what this means D...... (and anyone else)

DIS MEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No Ticker yet because I don't have dates yet but soon!

I am excited! I'm hoping to get an update on the TR out today we'll see. I need to get it done before looking up disney dates and such!!!!!
I honestly 100% thought we are not going this year. The day we got back last year V's mom said next time maybe we'll fly into Orlando. I really thought it was a lost cause this year sicne she hadn't mentioned it but she knew I'd like to take V, I just couldn't pay again. but then Poof pixiedust: There is nothing like Disney Magic.

not sure where we'll be yet. POR is ideal and my first choice. but values will be cheaper I am NOT paying (well we all know i'll find something extra but I have to be uber careful this time) V wanted POFQ but we'll go where the deals are and I prefer POR. She just wanted the slide at POFQ. We may have to go value because it's cheaper. I'd prefer art of animation but it will likely be excluded from discounts. so that would leave pop

I want POR! I don't have much desire to stay elsewhere and you'll be there.

i was floored when I opened my facebook and saw the message you send a whole lot of Disney Magic this weekend!pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

Gosh IDK i just ran numbers and they are WAY MORE $$$$$$$$$$$ than last year I'm confused. Last year we went peak season and 7 nights of tickets in a RGR Garden view WITH dining was like $2300 or something and that included a bit of a room discount and no park hopper no water park etc... . Value Season starts the 18th and our dates are the 16th-23. My numbers for 7 nights in a RGR garden with 8 days of tickets and reg dining, no water park no park hopper $2841 !!!

In 2011 we went the last week of august and our crowd levels were like level 2 or 1.5 etc... They were low! For the same time period, the last week of august this year they are a 5-7. For the week we are looking at they are more like a 6-8. That is way higher than I was hoping.

sigh... wow i have 3 weeks to figure this out :(

YEAH!!!! V and her family are so fortunate to have you as a friend!!! And, you are so fortunate to have them! Glad it's working out for you.

If we go, we'll go in July. Not looking too promising. But, who knows... my dgd has her daddy wrapped around her little finger.... time will tell, but I'm not planning anything, at least not now.

    So glad for you! Karen

    Day 2
Part 3: OMG you have a Drizella... (VIDEO TOO!)

When I sat down to write this update, I really wanted to due it justice because it truly was one of the best parts of our trip. I found it hard to write due to lack of memory lol AND because the video shows it so much better. So have a quick read and enjoy the video!
When I last left off we had left Animal Kingdom and were headed on the bus to.... The Grand Floridian. We had a date with a Prince!
Once we got to The Grand Floridian we nipped into the bathroom by Park Fare to change into V’s Cinderella Dress. They really should have made that bathroom bigger! It took a little while, but we finally got one of the 2-3 stalls and got V changed. Then trying to wash her hands or brush her hair or anything forget about it! (We did of course wash hands, it was tiny!)

We were seated at a table for 2 (next time I will be asking for a table for 4 that was a tiny table!)I just felt like we were packed in like sardines. There was no sign of any characters in sight so we headed for some food! It was hard to get V to eat much. It had been hard all day! I think because it was just so hot.
I learned that Strawberry Soup isn’t an appetizer, but dessert! Oh man was it delicious! I have utterly no recollections regarding the food at Park Fare. I don’t think I was overly impressed, but we weren’t there for the food!
Our server took the plates away just before the handsome Prince arrived. V kind of liked him! Not that I blame her, he certainly was Prince Charming!

A lovely couple on their honeymoon offered to take a picture of all of us.

After the Prince, the server brought out V’s special surprise and something I was waiting very impatiently for. Yes the kid already had birthday cakes on her birthday, but this was her birthday trip and every birthday girl needs CAKE! I was really impressed with the cake. It tasted delicious and the bakers did an excellent job. The Grand Floridian bakery doesn’t always have the best reputation with their custom cakes, but I didn’t have a single complaint! It was a yellow cake with milk chocolate mousse filling. It was decorated to resemble Cinderella’s pink dress. I purchased the character toppings the day before at World of Disney. Yummy! It was huge so much more cake than we needed but it was the smallest custom they could do. I took the cake back and packed it in a Tupperware I’d brought in the fridge.

After V blew out her candle it was time for Lady Tremaine! V was a tad nervous about Lady Tremaine coming. She does have a slight fear of the Villains, although I don’t know that I would classify Lady Tremaine as a Villain. She was a lot younger than I expected and she was very prim/proper, not very villain like. V liked her well enough.

Anastasia came next and she was thrilled with her Mini Me! It wasn’t as big of a reaction as I was anticipating.

Cinderella came next, I liked her, and she had a bit more personality than many of the Cinderella’s I’ve seen.

Saving the best for last was Drizella. I wont say too much about her, because the video shows it SO MUCH BETTER! This experience has catapulted Drizella to one of Vs faves! She was awesome.

After a little piece of cake, we headed out grabbed a picture with Cinderellas carriage and then hopped a cab back to Port Orleans and went straight to bed.

OMG!!! Loved the Drizella video! Priceless - no wonder V loves her so much now! Your mom did an amazing job on the dresses! I had to LOL at Drizella - she was so surprised that the doll did a "wardrobe change" ROFL.

    Great update Erin! :)

Ha ha, well next time Elizabeth will be home. But who knows There is a slim chance Elizabeth may have a new friend go as Drizella.
Maybe..... If she does I'll have to blame D for it! I might get in trouble :rotfl2:
