View down on Dream 5E extended verandah 5026 and others! (inc. non-ext. 5024)

I just booked room 5552 which is a category 5E with verandah. I am a little confused about the different verandah categories. Can anyone tell me anything about our room and what kind of view to expect?

It's a handicap accessible room, so the verandah is larger than other rooms in that category. You should have good views all the way around, except when looking directly to your right, you'll see the lifeboat.

We haven't seen any pictures of the inside of the room yet, so we don't know what the layout will be.

I'm booked in a different HC accessible room for my Dream cruise in September, and am waiting to see if 5552 becomes available, so that I can move to it. I like where it's located better than the room I have booked on Deck 6. Truthfully, I'm hoping someone has that room booked who doesn't have the medical form needed to keep the room, and that they'll have to let it go.

Thanks, my cruise isnt until June 10th 2012 but I am very excited about trying a room with a verandah this time. Our last cruise was a cat 11 so this should be a nice step up. Hopefully with the cruises beginning someone will post some HC assessible pics soon.

I'm booked in room 5534 on the Dream, Feb. 27-Mar 3. From what I read here, it looks like I'll be in one of the extended verandah rooms...!

I hope someone can post some photos also. It sounds good to me but I've never been on a cruise and have no idea what I'm in for anyway. :)

Yes. Your room, and all 5E rooms except for 5024 and 5524 have the extended verandahs. Enjoy!

We're in that room the cruise before you. We'll take good care of it. The verandahs look spectacular! :woohoo: Did you hear? We'll have 2 chairs, a table, and 2 lounge chairs!!! :dance3:

Can anyone confirm or deny if 5650 has the extended verandah? Thank you for this awesome thread. You can PM me or post it here. Thank you!!

This is great! At first I was disappointed about having to go down a floor to get to some of the kids stuff but now can't believe we are in connecting rooms with the extended balconies! Whew! I am afraid to tell the kids in case it ends up not being true. 5530 5532 here we come!!!

Oh my gosh stingfancb, how cool!! Have an awesome time on your cruise, and we will enjoy the good karma of having had fine DIS people in our room immediately prior to our arrival!

Also, I was not aware of the lounge chairs! I am psyched about those. For my first cruise this is already overwhelming in a good way -- far beyond my expectations. I've been checking out the Dream photos posted by WebmasterCorey... looks incredible!

Where did you hear that? It's awesome, but just curious how you knew?! :)

Heard AND saw on one of these threads! There is a new thread that has pictures taken of one of the extended verandahs. It also shows the chairs. They look awesome! :woohoo:

Timon posted some great pictures looking down on some 5E verandah from their 5A room 9534. Here is the link to the specific post with the pictures - http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=39841815&postcount=38

And here are the pictures she posted -
The verandah directly below 9534, with the people on it, is room 5550. To the side of it, is the extra large extended verandah of the accessible room 5552.

I assume the man toward the top of the picture with arms extended is standing on the verandah for room 5528, and 5526 is out of site on the other side of the divider behind him. The room on the other side of the divider in front of him should be 5530, and the verandah with the curved railing where the gentleman is standing is 5532. The next 4 verandahs toward the bottom of the picture should be 5534, 5536, 5538, and 5540.

Another view looking down on 5550 with woman and child. 5548 should be room where man is sitting with crossed leg and drying clothes, 5546 should be room above that with curved verandah, and 5544 should be next up with curved verandah under the room w/blue streamers. 5542 is the verandah toward the top of the picture.

Another view of accessible 5552, and 5E rooms 5550, 5548 (where man is sitting), and 5546 (curved verandah railing.)

View straight down onto room 5550 extended verandah (reminder to keep it clean down there since the E in 5E stands for both "extended" and "exposed"!

She also got a great shot of connecting 5E verandahs with the common divider opened up! I assume these are rooms 5538 and 5540.

Many thanks, I had been asking if anyone had any info on our HA room 5552. The verandah looks really nice. Now if I could just see some inside shots.

By looking at these photos, does it appear that Room 5546 has a smaller balcony and less of a view because of the curve??

The extended verandahs with the curves are a bit smaller than the others, due to the curve and the extra railing running down the side, which is thicker than the divider between rooms. But unless the rooms themselves look different, they're probably all the same width, so it would be a matter of those nuances with the fit and finish.

But I could point out that we're talking about a difference in the extended space, which was not included in the original plans for the ship (and I don't think they've updated the room description for the extra space) so the rooms are probably all equivalent in the general space (with the exception of the obstructed non-extended 5E verandahs of room 5024 and 5524.)

This is the view that my BFF and I had on the Magic for the WBTA last September. Stateroom #8040

This was what we saw every day and we just loved it!!!

My biggest complaint is that the one big bed does not separate like on the Magic and Wonder. We are paying the same amount of $$$ and should not have to flip a coin to see who gets the big, nice and very comfortable bed and who gets the crappy couch. Unless the fold out couch is much more comfortable than on the Magic or Wonder, it might be a deal breaker as to whether we will cruise on the Dream or Fantasy. This is very disappointing.

Awesome! The one thing I didn't see in any of those pictures is the two extra chairs (sort of beach, lounge chairs) that I had seen in earlier pictures of the 5E verandahs. Does anyone know if they are still there?

Thanks for this. I didn't know that when I booked we got the Extended verandah! Now I'm even more excited!:cool1::banana::cool1:
