Using FP with touring plan and changing FP question

First timer questions. Was able to book 3 FP for our 2/5/16 day at MK earlier this week. Since I could only book 30 days out, didn't have much options for the 3 I wanted.

We have Big Thunder at 12:15, Space Mt at 3:50 and 7 dwarfs Mine train at 7:40 (dinner reservations at Tony's at 6:40).

When I tried to set up a plan with Touring Plans, it told me that my FP times wouldn't work and didn't include them in my plan. This doesn't make a lot of sense to me. Anyone have experience with this?

Also, I don't like the time for the last FP. I have been checking every day to change it but no luck so far. What do you think the chances are that one will pop up or if I can change it once we get to MK.

Yes, when you push optimize, it will do that sometimes. What I do is use optimize as my starting point. After you push optimize locate your attraction with the earliest FP return time and where that return time is on the plan and drag that attraction there. Then push Evaluate. Do not push optimize again. Evaluate will adjust all of the times without changing the order of anything. You may need to move that attraction another slot or two depending on the results. When you do it this way, if the attraction falls within the return time it will use the FP. Repeat until you have all your FP in place. Then you can adjust other attractions as well surrounding it if you want. I dislike crisscrossing the park so I try to get everything in a logical order for me. You may also end up with some things having unfavorable wait times so you can see what happens by moving those earlier or later. Just remember to use Evaluate not Optimize after the initial one or it will move everything around again. I do wish they would add an option that has the plan use your FP times in the best way possible, but there isn't a way currently, you have to force it. I did end up adjusting some of my FP return times based on what the plans showed me, but mostly I know what I want to do, I just use the plan to supplement that and so I have my game plan going in. We don't always stick exactly to it but it helps keep us on track and has on it what we want to accomplish that day.

Have you tried adjusting the times one person at a time? So long as you can get overlapping times for everyone in your party and enter during the overlap, that might be the way to get what you want. Remember, it will not show you times that overlap another FP return time, so keep that in mind when searching as well. Try adjusting BTM or SM to the ideal times first if they interfere with your ideal SDMT ideal return time. Good luck!
