Hi Everyone!!!
Not too much happening Disney-wise, but before I lose all of my 3 readers, I figured I’d better post. It’s April 1st today and I have 157 more days until we’re home. Ah… I can’t wait!

I’ve made myself some new Mickey ears for the trip! I think they turned out pretty well. I wanted a new set of ears and finally decided to just update my bride ears that I purchased during our honeymoon. Of course I added the little flowers and blue sequin ribbon.

I’m not sure if anyone has a Deb’s around their home, but they are going out of business so Victoria and I did a little shopping. Yeah, 90% off is a good deal!! I found a dress that I thought would be perfect for Disney either as the Little Mermaid or Elsa. I’m not sure where I would wear it, but I just couldn’t leave it there…..it was my size and, get this, $3!!!! You read that right folks, THREE DOLLARS!!! Even if I never wear it as a dress and use the material for something, it’s soooo worth $3! What do you guys think???

Last time they did this they were able to go back to normal function, so I am hoping with some minor changes in my lifestyle, I can make them function well again. Apparently I have Stage 3A Kidney Disease and there are 5 stages. My doctor doesn’t seem as concerned as she is with my diabetes numbers right now. She’s switched me from my long-acting insulin (Lantus) to a short-acting insulin I have to take before I eat (Humilin). The only hard thing I’m finding about it is remembering to take it ½ hour before meals. And I’m not feeling quite right. You know one of those you don’t really have something wrong, but you don’t feel like yourself? The doc states it’s my body adjusting to that new insulin so I need to give it some time. I’m also back to the gym with Victoria everyday walking the track for one mile…..(I can hear Karen and Nicole now…..”ONE MILE?? ONLY ONE MILE?”) this is why they amaze me so much --- they actually RUN way more than that!! Oh, speaking of that one of my friends invited me to a Color Run 10K in about one month……Yeah, I don’t think so, but thanks for the invite![/URL]

Out of 7 eggs we only have 2 that have hatched so far and they are just soooo cute! I’m not sure if all the eggs were fertile or not, but we’ll find out by the weekend. They were all about 3 days apart so some more should be pecking through soon! These two aren’t named yet…..[/URL]

OMG She is sooo adorable! Her name is Kyra. I’m not sure if I had mentioned it, but we lost one of our bunnies over the winter and the other 2 girls were of the same little. They are all 6 years old now and in their senior lives. I thought a new little one would be great, so I picked her up at the Poultry Swap at Tractor Supply last weekend. Animals make me happy and I’m so happy to have her. I do have a new mouse that I got about one month ago that I won’t post a picture of (Hope doesn’t like rodents and I want her to continue to read this report!!) Hi Hope!!! [/URL][/URL][/URL]

She’s going to see Halsey (yeah, I don’t know her either) but she’s performing at the Middle East Restaurant in Cambridge on Friday night. Peter’s staying home this time around, especially since we have new baby chicks now. Again we are travelling via bus. We both really like that. The hotel we are staying at has an indoor pool and hot tub so I will be set while she goes and has her fun! We’ll be coming home the next day so no sight-seeing this time around. [/URL][/URL]

Awwww! Your bunny bun-bun is soooo cute!!!! She's adorable! Happy for you that you've added to your furry/feathery family, I know you love them. That was incredibly thoughtful of you not to post the mouse pic b/c of Hope.

I noticed right away that the dress matched the ears! They are both AWESOME!!! I LOVE the ears, I want them. I'm going to have to go on Etsy now and get some ears. We got so many comments on our Tweedle ears b/c they were unique!

Cute new animals! Peter would probably love Hawaii where it seems Chickens/Roosters have overtaken the islands- they literally just roam everywhere... our running joke as we would pass them just standing by the side of the road was "so why DID the chicken cross the road?"

We even had them chase us around in towns where we were walking/standing! Ever see a Tweedle run screaming "get away from me chicken!!!!!"? Well, that happened.. in Hawaii!

I HAVE! I can't stand chickens and they know it! Every time I have to petsit them (I have quite a few clients with chickens) they always chase me! and they poop everywhere and I step in it. Yuck! SORRY ANN!!! Between Hope & I we sure to have a lot of grudges against your pets.

Hi! I'm just trying to catch up on everyone since I got back from my trip. Aww, love the photos of the chicks and bunnies. So cute!

I'm sorry about your health issues. I hesitate to bring this up but I just thought I'd share my mom's experience. She was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes and was on medication for years. She started having trouble with her kidneys and the next step was dialysis. So she lost 80 pounds through diet, no exercise. The doctor took her off her medication, her kidneys are functioning normally, and she no longer has diabetes.

I don't mean to preach or lecture, I just wanted to tell you about my mom who had a very similar experience and she's healthy today.

Thank you for the compliment on the ears. Eh, my health is what it is I guess. I know my A1-C must have gone down since the new insulin because I've had 2 major low blood sugar episodes. One time I was at 77 which is normal for most, but I was shaking, sweaty, etc. The other time I was at 45! Eeek! Now that was scary!!! Holy cripes!! Fortunately I can recover pretty quickly with juice. OMG Peter would so love to be on an island with tonz of chickens. Chickens are his friends!! I'm not going to tell you they don't chase, bite or scratch you, because depending on their temperment, they will!! I can just imagine seeing both you and Karen running from chickens......you both do realize that the more you run, the more they will chase you......just sayin'.

Hi Colleen!! I just want to thank you for sharing your Mom's experience. That is my goal --- to lose weight so that I can be taken off of some meds. You are not lecturing me at all and it's nice to hear a good news story. It's hard, I can't lie, but I still haven't salted ANYTHING and it hasn't killed me! LOL! I have slacked off on the walking a bit as I'm currently the caregiver to my Mister Peter who had foot surgery 2 weeks ago and on those stupid crutches again. And of course, he's not a very good patient and is pushing his physical limits....I love him and I don't mind at all taking care of him (the ole in sickness and in health thing) but I'm exhausted --- to exhausted to walk. Yep, I know that's an excuse and not a very good one, but it's the only one I have. I've also had to do all of his chores around the house besides running the regular house stuff, so yeah. I have that excuse!! LOL! Victoria is no longer in counselling and it a bit more hard to deal with than before. She's doing great, but she is a drama queen, although aren't all 17 year olds? Sometimes I am just too tired to be understanding to some of the drama. She also needs to get a job to help pay for her eyebrow waxing and other things she wants. She needs to learn I'm not always going to buy her all this stuff. It's just life!!

Anyways, sorry it's been so long since I've updated. There's really nothing to update Disney-wise until day 60. I'm on day 120 now....ugh!! Ok, I do have one question, though......why can't I insert smilies where I want to?? I put the cursor at the end of my sentence, click on a smilie and it goes to the beginning of the post. 94 DAYS TO GO!!!!!

Hey there Hi there Ho there!!! I wanted to update back on Day 99 since I was in double digits FINALLY, but I have been sick with a really bad cold, so I didn’t have the energy to do it. Let’s just celebrate the fact that I’m on Day 94 now!! Whoo Hoot!!! 34 more days until I can make our fast passes!!! It seems now that I’ve broken the 100 day mark, things are going fast!! Here is a picture of the crew all together on Mother’s Day…..Disney, watch out!!

Yep…..I unwrapped it last night and hate the way it came out!! Ugh!!!! But, it’s salvageable, so I’ll make it better. I think adding a bit of fabric paint will help. I’ll be working on that soon and posting a picture.

I’ve been creating bows again! The only time I wear bows is in Disney so I made sure I got plenty of Disney-related ribbon at the Scrapbook convention I went to in April. I always make too many and never end up wearing them all. This is what I have so far:

Bangor is about 1 ½ hour drive north from our home. ROAD TRIP!!! We stopped at Texas Roadhouse in Bangor before the concert to grab dinner and so did everyone else it seemed. One of our favorite servers Justin went from the Augusta Roadhouse to the Bangor one as a manager, so we got to see him while we were there. That was awesome! We had a very nice server named Gabe who was adorable! My dinner didn’t come out perfect and I hesitated when he asked if it was ok. Then he’s like “what can I do to make it better? Buy you dessert? Give you a lap dance?” Um, I immediately said no but should have yes to see what he would have done. Victoria said he was flirting with me. Yeah, right Victoria. This 21 year old hottie is flirting with me ---- um, no.[/URL]

He came back with the credit card and said the meal was on him for all the inconvenience. I’m thinking “what inconvenience?” I went to the front and had Justin ring us up as I was not going to have someone spend their hard-earned money on us! It was a nice thought but totally not necessary! Gabe was such a cutie, though!![/URL][/URL]

Yep, I didn’t have any cash on me at all!!! Ugh. I will have to remember that for next time! It never even occurred to me as I had no plans to buy any merchandise, so I didn’t think to bring any. The venue was really nice. It was outdoors and the weather (so far) was good --- not too hot or cold. [/URL][/URL]

This kid has expensive tastes!! All these concerts, Spotify, etc. She really needs her own source of income!! If she doesn’t find a job, she will volunteer as she’s not going to be spending her summer on that stupid iphone of hers. Oh yeah, I haven’t mentioned that she cracked her screen on her iphone 5s so we now have an iphone 6. I told her this is the VERY LAST PHONE I am buying for her as she will be 18 next February and she needs to be financially responsible. I always travel with cash, even if I don't think I will need it. I'm weird like that - but you never know when it will be helpful to have a $20 bill in your pocket!

In terms of TIW vs. Dining Plan - how long is TIW valid for? Is it a year? If it is, then you get to use it on your next trip, too, right? So that may help with making the decision.

Bomb threats and fire ... sounds like Victoria is having an eventful end of the year! I hope she can find a summer job, it's definitely hard because people may not want to hire & train someone, only to have them leave ... but she should definitely keep looking!

Lovely Mother's Day picture! Cute bows! I think it's great that you insisted on paying for your meal. You sound like me. I never have cash because my ATM card doesn't work. I have to bum $$ off DH to give the boys their field trip money for school. It looks like you had a great time with your daughter at the concert. I'm dreading but at the same time looking forward to going to concerts with my boys. I can't even imagine what we'll go see.

Here we are on Day 78!!! It’s coming on fast, isn’t it?? There’s still a whole wonderful summer to enjoy yet and I plan to do just that!!


In Real Life News ----- VICTORIA GOT A JOB!!!! Yep, she is now a retail associate in a Goodwill store! I am so excited and happy for her! She will now be able to pay me back for her Halsey VIP package and be able to pay for her own “non-necessities” such as make-up, hair coloring and eyebrow waxing. Yeah! I think it will be soooo fantastic for her people skills and her ability to cope with reality. Let’s face it here, I know I’ve spoiled her and sheltered her and protected her from the world. Now, she’ll have to face it on her own. It’s going to be good for BOTH of us. She had to pass both a background check (yea, the kid hasn’t done anything so that was a no-brainer) and a physical. They told her she was out of shape, but she passed it! Yay!!! She got the official email yesterday from the company and now she is just waiting for a call from the manager with her schedule. She is sooo excited! Of course I’m starting to get the empty-nest feeling. This is the first step towards her independence and I’m not sure I’m handling it well. I know, I know…..our goal as parents is to raise healthy, independent children, but the reality is not easy to swallow.





So, a little Disney-related job info: Victoria said while she was interviewing for this job she noticed the manager had a rapid refill Disney Mug, so they started talking about that and where they stay, etc. Yep, I think the whole Disney Magic Pixie Dust had something to do with her getting the job!! That’s what I chose to believe!!





Victoria and I played hookie last Friday and went to Old Orchard Beach. I had been going there since I was little and I started the same tradition with Victoria. We always stay at a particular resort on the beach. Well, they have a day pass where you can use their pool, bathrooms, parking for a fee and stay all day. Ah, it was heaven. Even though I’m an hour away from the ocean, we don’t go often enough. I just love the smell, the sound and the feel of sea breeze. It was amazing! A much needed retreat even for just the day. I also got my first sunburn of the season --- love my fair skin! I’ll share some pictures. Although, I just looked at photobucket and I don’t have them uploaded. Ugh, really? And of course they are on my home computer and not this one….grrrrr…….ok, so pictures in the next update!


My 60 day mark is coming right up! Can you guys believe that!!?? I know what I will try for with the Fastpasses but I’m not really sure what to request for online booking. Heck, it’s the Grand, so ANY room will be perfect!! My Mom is being so cute about the trip. She’s all excited and is trying to read anything she can on the resort. Thanks to the Dis I was able to attach a watch to my Magic Band (I practiced on my old one). That’s one thing I always wished they had was a watch face. I see that Disney has now come out with one, but it’s U-G-L-Y!!! So, I’m just putting a Timex Easy Reader face on the band. Let’s face it, you need to know what time it is in Disney!





Victoria has some upcoming concerts to go to. She’s seeing Fall Out Boy in Bangor tomorrow with her friend. Peter and I will be driving up there and then probably go to the Mall or something until the show is over. Then there’s Imagine Dragons and Halsey in Boston on July 1st. That will require an overnight for us and awe, we all know how much I hate to stay in hotel rooms (yeah, right!) . It will also require me to have 2 days off of work….again, awe, poor me!! We’ll be staying at a Hyatt Regency….

You can totally lose an inch before September! Now you have motivation too, to wear that awesome dress!! I wonder if we are in the same Facebook group- because I have the same PIN coming to me! We def have good chances of seeing each other!! The picture on Mothers Day is so cute, I hope you had a good one! I really like all your bows! I've never worn one in my hair, I should see how and where I would put it and maybe make some! I love Ed Sheeran! The concert seemed like a great time, even if it did rain!! Yay for double digits! The Mother's Day family picture is beautiful! I. Love. Your. Bows. They are amazing! You have some really great ribbons there and you do a great job with them! I always travel with cash, even if I don't think I will need it. I'm weird like that - but you never know when it will be helpful to have a $20 bill in your pocket! In terms of TIW vs. Dining Plan - how long is TIW valid for? Is it a year? If it is, then you get to use it on your next trip, too, right? So that may help with making the decision. Hi Sarah! Thank you for complimenting my bows. The TIW is technically good for 13 months so it would cover both this trip and our next trip in April, so I really, really, really think it's the way to go! I've done the figures quite a few times now and TIW is cheaper. We'll see. Yep, lesson learned about having cash on me. Ugh! As you can read in the post prior, Victoria did get a job and she starts tomorrow with an 8 hour shift. I set her up with her own bank account now, too. Oh, my baby is growing up. I don't like this at all!!!

Yep Colleen, we have another concert coming up on Wednesday. Victoria is seeing Imagine Dragons in Boston. I'll be having a mini-vacation as we'll need the 1st & 2nd off for the concert and then work is closed on Friday for the 4th of July holiday. Yahooooo!!!! This time Peter will be joining us for the trip to Boston which means we'll (HE) will be driving down. Fun --- Boston traffic! I know it will be fun!!!!
