    Hi Everyone!

I've always stalked these boards for some great information and ideas so I wanted to post my pre-trip report to get some feedback from everybody. If anyone has honeymooned or plans to honeymoon in Disney, I would love to hear from you all! I'm just going to share with you a brief outline of what we plan todo and any suggestions you could all make would be very much appreciated. :goodvibes

We are getting married on 10/12/11 at the Portofino Resort at Universal Studios. Trust and believe, I would have loved to get married at Disney, but my fiance Trevor and I concluded that we could get much more for our money at The Portofino, so that's the direction we went in. So here goes the entire trip report!

Leave Boston for Orlando and check into the Portofino
    Hang out at Universal Studios
    Dinner at the Hard Rock
    Blue Man Group

    Universal Studios/Citywalk
    Dinner at Jiffy Buffet's Margaritaville

    Dinner at Emeril's Tchoup Chop

Check in at Disney's Boardwalk Villa's
    Hang out at Boardwalk
    Dinner at Yachtsmans Steakhouse
    Jellyrolls for the night

    Animal Kingdom all day
    Lunch at Yak & Yeti
    Dinner at the Coral Reef

Character Breakfast at Cape May Cafe
Cane pole fishing at Port Orleans Riverside
    Couples Massage at Grand Floridian
Spirit of Aloha dinner show at the Poly

    Lunch at Grand Floridian Cafe
Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party
    Cinderella's Royal Table for dinner

Honeymoon Photoshoot at Downtown Disney (engagement pics were part of our photographers package but since we aren't going to be there in time to do that, we opted for a honeymoon photoshoot instead!)
    Dinner at Tony's Town Square
Extra Magic Hours at Magic Kingdom

    Epcot All Day
Behind the Seed Tour at the Land Pavilion
    Dinner at Le Cellier

    Breakfast at Kouzzina
Renting a pontoon boat to ride down the Sassagoula River at Downtown Disney
    Dinner at Tutto Italia

    Hollywood Studios all day
    Lunch at Sci-fi
Dinner at Brown Derby as part of Fantasmic Dining Package
Extra Magic hours at the studios

    Lunch at Via Napoli
    Head Back to Boston :sad1:

So do tell! Anything I may be missing? Any romantic ideas to add?

    Thanks everyone! ::MinnieMo

One thing you are leaving out is renting a pontoon boat or yacht for wishes fireworks and electric water parade on bay lake. They are awesome, I rented a fireworks tour for our 20th anniversary. My wife loved it. Also you could take a carriage ride at Fort Wilderness Campground or French Quarter at dusk. Also every night at the campground is an outdoor movie with chip and dale singalong with smores around the campfire. Don't forget to visit the wedding pavillion for pictures. Have a very blessed wedding.

sounds like a good plan to me! You seem to have got most things covered but I would agree with PP and say private boat for fireworks is a must (expensive but very romantic!)
Just out of interest do you have any pictures? My friend wants to get married in disney but cant really afford prices - this could be a good option for her! I cant seem to find any decent pics online wondered if you had any?!Thanks

What a wonderful idea! :yay: Any idea how difficult it is to book this type of reservations? What about pricing?

Hey there! I completely empathize with your friend. The wedding coordinator I hired actually does weddings the Universal's Portofino, Hard Rock, and Royal Pacific Hotels, but she also works with Disney's Swan and Dolphin resort, which is directly across from the Boardwalk. As far as pricing goes, I can tell you it is VERY reasonable. Here's what's in my contract: venue (balcony overlooking the harbor), white aisle runner, fresh rose petals for the aisle, floral for the sand ceremony table, foral for the altar area, my bouquet, 2 female wrist corsages, 2 male corsages, 1 hour violinist, 2 hours horse and carriage, 2 tiered custom wedding cake, officiant. Total cost for that was $3,257.00. I opted to go with a different photographer/videographer which is why I didn't include it in my contract price. That figure also includes the wedding coordinator fees and a wardrobe stylist to come steam my gown the day before.

I had a whole bunch of pics to post but because I am a newbie (haven't posted enough) disboards won't let me! Go to just marry (all one word) dot com and that is the wedding coordinator's site. They will be able to e-mail you pics right away :)

We're getting married in our backyard :woohoo:

I would LOVE to get married at Disney, but I was pushing my luck with having the honeymoon there.

Beggars can't be choosers though, right?

Congrats on your wedding! My fiancé and I will be down 2 weeks after you for our honeymoon (we’re staying at the Beach Club).
Your list of activities sounds great. The carriage ride around Port Orleans is really romantic and Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween party was a blast.

Cinderella’s Royal Table is on our list of places to eat too. Can’t wait, we’ve never eaten there before!

Don’t forget to check out the Food and Wine Festival when you’re at Epcot.

Have a great wedding and honeymoon!
