You won't have to go to the counter. Just go to kiosk and check-in again more or less. This will ask you how many bags you want to check. (max. is 2 per person) The agent will get your luggage tags, check your id's (all over age 18) give you luggage receipts. (you should have your boarding passes from home) You then take your carry-ons and go through security. You will need your id's & boarding passes to go through security. It's a good idea to wear shoes that slip on. You can put them in the tray for scanning then just slip them back on. (kids too) It may sound complicated, but it's easy process if your prepared. Also, if you have any film carry it with you, don't put in your checked baggage, the ct scanners will mess it up.

Yeah, you'll still have to go to the counter/kiosk to check your bags, like tkldisney described.

The reason I check in online, whether or not I have baggage to check, is to actually check in early and confirm my spot - and hopefully eliminate that chance of checking in later and getting bumped from an overbooked flight.
