I was wondering if the BBQ on Tracy Arm day of the Alaskan cruise is during the regular lunch hours (11:45 am to 2pm) or if it is later during the afternoon. Don't want to miss it :) Thanks in advance.

I don't recall the menu, but you have to go through Cabanas to get a plate and follow the lines. They have grills set up outside and are grilling meats.

It's not with the rest of the barbecue, but don't forget the split pea soup in a bread bowl. I ate that while watching whales on our verandah. It was my favorite DCL meal ever.

And the bread bowls are found?... deck 10 forward during the normal lunch time?

I almost skipped the bbq because I don't eat meat, but we went just for the convenience factor. The selection of food was very nice. In addition to the .meats, there were a variety of salads, breads, fruit, etc.

You know how you're not supposed to grocery shop when you're hungry? So far my plans for Tracy arm: Salmon, halibut, split pea soup in a bread bowl, hot chocolate! I really hope I don't like their vegetables or dessert I'm stuffed already.

Just a warning.... some had troubles finding the BBQ. You get your food at the Beach Blanket buffet, then you exit the rear of the ship to find the salmon BBQ line.
Is that from last year? Someone above said it is hard to find because it moves.
Currently plans are Split-Pea soup from Goofys Galley.
And a BBQ that was last year found in the very most rear deck of the ship behind Beach Blanket Buffet? Sounds like it's crowded.
Do we enter through BBB doors or take (if possible) side deck?
Or is this more of an extravagant BBB opportunity where we still want to go through the BBB lines and get our entry from the back deck area?

On my August 2014 trip.... it was outside behind the Beach Buffet. Yep it was crowded... especially in the heavy rain where everyone wanted to be under the awning. Because the area was small.... many don't know to look there for the salmon line. That's why I'm suggesting to go look for it there if you can't find it.

You enter at the regular buffet entrance.... but exit outside to the rear of the ship to find the salmon line.
