We stayed an hour after. Didn't want to battle the crowd to the buses.

    Hello all -

Just came back from a great trip with my DH and my parents, and we 4 adults did the dessert party on Sunday January 27th at 7 PM. We were able to get these tickets a few days prior during our first day or so at WDW at the Boardwalk Concierge (where we stayed).

I wanted to leave a little review because, in general, I love Disney and have done the dessert party before and was really looking forward to it. Last time it was just my parents and I (didn't have a DH yet), and it was probably 3-4 years ago and the dessert party was pretty new. Back then, there was perhaps a total of 50 people and it felt like a very special experience and at $50ish a person seemed a reasonable fee for what was a nice special time.

Well NOW word has clearly gotten out, and they max out the seating at over 100 people, and the desserts, for some completely odd reason, where moved to a small corner that was very difficult for crowds to get in and out of. Previously the desserts were an area behind the seating where it was easy for everyone to access.

The food was just as good. The fireworks as amazing as always. Yes, everyone moves up to the railing so it doesn't matter where you are sitting. But really, with SO MANY people was just wasn't special anymore. And with the incredibly poor floor of traffic it wasn't a fun experience anymore either. And for some reason they decided to add ice cream to the dessert mix which I think was a really bad, messy idea.

I really hate to say this, but we will not be going back and I would urge anyone - especially of you are NOT traveling with kids - to forgo this experience. Truly, it is no longer worth it.

    - Carey

Sorry you had such a bad experience. I personally like it better now as opposed to before. I never felt it was crowded even with the added people. So I guess its all in how you view things.. I can't wait to go in April and again in August!! The ice cream was a great added plus for us :goodvibes

Definitely recommend getting there early to be at the front end of the seating line. We were the second party in (group of 10) and we were able to get multiple trips for desserts and drinks with minimal crowd level. By the time we were ready to go back for favorites things the crowd level had died down. Also got to the rail a little early to lock in our corner spot.

I've never been to the dessert party, but have seen others enjoying it during past trips. These photos really make me want to take an adults only trip to the world just for the great gatherings like this! My kids never want to stop once we get in the parks, so to have to wait an hour just to see fireworks would never work for them. They've actually never seen a Disney parade:eek:, they rather ride the rides then sit through a parade. Weird kids - Who's raising them!?!:rotfl:

Go to the Disney webpage and type in "dessert" in the search box and the first result will be Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party (or something like that). You can make reservations now for March but April isn't open. You have to pay the full amount when you reserve (about $25 per person depending on when you go).

Ok, so this might be a weird question, but anyway---- :)

I read that they give you a bracelet to wear when you enter -- (in order to get back inside, in case you have to leave at any point)

Are these bracelets similar to the ones at "MVMCP" or "MNSSHP"?

Do they have the event listed? We actually collect these, and wear them every day once we get home, until our next Disney trip-

    TIA !!!!

No event is listed. It's a colored band like what you get at the state fair for rides.
