Decided to do TIW this year instead of DDP. In Feb will be with my best friend and our kids, so 6 total. Will all of us get % off? Can we split the check for payment?

In Aug, my whole family is going and my ILs are joining for one night. 7 total. Same thing, can we split check for pymt and all still get % off?

I don't think you can split checks and get the discount on both of them. You'll have to put all the meals on one check to get the discount. Disney is very strict with the TIW card and every TIW transaction needs a manager's approval which is really a PITB sometimes.

I have used the TIW card for years. The check can't be split.

They won't split the check and allow the discount on each check, but what you can do is use different methods of payment for the check. In other words tell the CM you want to pay half the balance with this credit card and half with another credit card. They won't divide it up and give you two seperate checks though.

That is a relief! I HATED using it at the Rose & Crown Pub, but it paid the tip for the bartender.

We were there in October and we always had to wait for a manager to swipe the card at the lounges, specifically Rose & Crown and The Bellvue Lounge. On previous trips, we had to wait at the Outer Rim & Top of the World Lounge too. I don't know if the procedure changed since mid-October.

It's a new procedure. About a week or so old.

Thank you! I'll try to have others pay cash and just let me pay altogether

Last time we used it they were not thrilled about swiping three credit cards even though we told them exactly how much to charge to each. This was at Le Cellier. Curious if anyone else had a better experience doing this.

Technically the cardholder is supposed to be the one paying, so if you were able to pay with 3 different credit cards consider yourself lucky. I wouldn't count on always being able to do that

I never had any trouble using two cards or one card and some cash when I was there last May 5th-13th, Sept 1st-8th, or Oct 27th-Nov 4th. I simply told the waiters how much to take off each card.:confused3 In those three trips we dined at Tusker House, Mama Melrose, 50 Prime Time, Liberty Tree Tavern, Biergarten, Chefs de France, Via Napoli (twice), Rose & Crown, Le Cellier, Flying Fish, Boma, Sanaa, Jiko, Maya Grill, Cape May, Big River Grill, Ohana, and probably a few more. Every single time the waiter simply said, "Not a problem".

You are right though, it could change at any time, but thus far I've never had a problem getting the discount for fellow diners and having each of us pay. They always refuse to give us separate tickets, but haven't had a problem using different methods of payment for one check.

Using one card and cash is fine, using multiple gift cards is fine, it's when multiple credit cards with different names on them that they will be cracking down.

Since servers can now swipe the card themselves they no longer need a manager approval, discounts will be watched closely and monitored to make sure the rules are being followed. The rule is the card holder must pay the bill.

I actually think that it will be easier for servers to give non-card holders a discount since they don't need a manager to OK every discount.

Not possible. The TIW card has to be swiped. Prior to the change the manager checked the expiration date, swiped their own cast id and then inputted a code.

Have not been to WDW since last May. What I found easiest was to pay using kttw card or my cc and having BFF use her cc to pay her part off from room account.

My sister and I guesstimated what our total dining would be. We then purchased a gift card and each put the same amount on the one gift card. We decided we'd just split the bills rather than get too detailed about exactly what each of us ordered. But she kept track of all of our charges on her phone, so it would've been possible to break it down to the penny. On the last day we used up the gift card and paid with cash.

I really liked using the gift card with my TIW. I didn't have charges to the room and I didn't use my credit card all over Disney. Both of us used our credit card to do the initial gift card load in the AKL gift shop. And the server only had to deal with the one gift card when we paid.

And this is why everyone in my party always has cash. The bill comes and we either all pay cash together or I pay for it on my credit card and they all give me the cash since i have the TIW. Pretty easy and no drama
