The Tenth Honeymoon is the Best One of Them All! - May '14 TR - COMPLETED 4/19

Jon, sorry I got a bit behind (sick since we got back from Vegas and just so tired that I hop in bed after dinner).

You got a lot done at the MK that morning, and then fun at what I consider THE best pool at Disney, the Dig Site! I do miss that slide.

We have never considered Artist Point, but your meal looks really good. We've never stayed at the WL, but I like CSR a whole lot better myself (we had an extremely rude CM at the WL when we asked to see a room...she out and out lied to us...and hence while we will never stay there).

Sorry about the issues at dinner with Dylan, but glad everything was better once you got to the MK. You got a lot done again that evening.

I know you aren't at that point yet in the TR, but where are the seats for Wishes when you get the FP? I need to make a decision soon as to whether to try to cancel one I already have and get one for Wishes for our trip in 30 days.

What a fancy dinner! Everything looked delicious. Glad your stomach issues didn't escalate.

Sorry dinner was sort of a downer because of a kid. That's never good.

Love your pics of an empty looking MK!

AP may be another visit after these kids move out :)

Kristin hated Ghostbusters??? :faint:

Sorry to hear about the family ******* at Artist Point. We had a family meltdown at LeCellier several years ago. We did not show our best Disney side that evening.

Gee, you sure seem to have a lot of gastrointestinal issues at Disney World. :scared:

We had one at Akershus last year. Not good. Can't enjoy gjetost and kjøttkaker in that environment.

I didn't get the "not liking Ghostbusters" thing, either! What?? I'm going to suggest watching it again.

Stomach issues are not fun at Disney!

Artist Point looks pretty awesome, sorry about the iPod mishap. Awesome update though, love the pics and Kristen's castle tattoo!!

It worked out better, because he didn't bother us for his iPod the rest of the trip. Not fun at the time, though!

I discovered and read your old trip reports a few months ago while prepping for a September attempt-to-catch-free-dining WDW trip(which turned into a beach trip... but we decided to switch Disney to May so we only have to wait 9 more months!:rolleyes2) I wondered if y'all decided not to pull the kids out of school last year and was so excited when I discovered your new tr! I'm only on p.7 but hopefully I'll be able to catch up soon. Thanks for taking the time to write these!

2 comments, and this TR is one of them? Honored!

We're considering pulling the kids for one last time next May. Strongly considering. Ok, it's probably happening.

I'll type slow :)

Dinner looks delicious!! Emily is quite the artist with that white chocolate :artist:

That noodle station really is never open. :crazy2:

I'm guessing it was a tough medium to work in ;)

I seem to remember it being open about 6 or 7 years ago, but no longer. I'd probably try it if it were!

Horrible story about WL! We had a nice stay, but nothing beats CSR ;)

I was away, so I'm sorry I couldn't reply sooner. The seating for Wishes was on the immediate right of the hub. It's in the grass beyond the old priority seating area. It was a great view, and not crowded. Sitting was great, too. I highly recommend it.

Updates coming now!

So far, the trip has gone MK, HS, Epcot, AK, Epcot, and MK. Six days, all parks. We started throwing in the "day off" a few years back, and like last year, will be heading to Downtown Disney. We're not the biggest fans of DTD, but we can find enough to do there. Besides, Dylan and I plan on spending most of the day at Disney Quest, cashing in the two free passes that were included in our AAA vacation package. Kristin and Em will be doing who-knows-what. In fact, Emily will be writing that part of this Trip Report when we get to it.

Disney Quest doesn't open until 11:00, so we get to sleep in. Yay!

Not too late, though. Emily and I want to get to the pool for opening, which we do. Or, rather, which we would have done, had we had the right time for pool opening. We were an hour late, but no more than an hour! So technically prompt, just misinformed.

We're not really in the market for a long swim, and I'm still pretty tired, in spite of the extra sleep, so it's a few quick slides, one jump-in by Emily, and we're out. Nice start to the morning!

Showered, shaved, gym, tan, laundry...and it's still early, so I can take my time getting to El Centro...wait, what's that up ahead? Is that...a janitor doing broom art? Oh man, it is! Jenn and Beth had said earlier in the week that they've never seen the broom art, which we found odd, since we've seen it lots of times. Of course, I don't have my camera. Back to the room, quick!

I return, and there it is. Evidence!

I think the response was "are you freakin' kidding me?" when I posted this on Facebook later that night.

At El Centro, I get the usual morning meals - ok, not really "usual", since Emily switched to doughnuts with sprinkles at some point during the trip. Back to the Cabanas, where they're doing some tree trimming:

Love this walk, though. As if you couldn't tell. By why shouldn't I?

Back to the room now, and it's time to go!

Usual pose:

Now, I don't know if there is a scientific name for this phenomenon, or even a Disney-speak one, but I'm sure we all know the rule that at least every other bus at a Walt Disney World resort bus stop has to be a Downtown Disney bus. One year, we stood at Station 1 at CSR waiting for an Epcot bus, as a line of at least three DTD buses sat idling. It's ridiculous.

Unless, of course (and here's the "phenomenon" part of it), you are waiting for a DTD bus, In which case, it won't ever arrive. Like today.

Epcot.

Magic Kingdom.

Epcot.

Hollywood Studios.

Downtown Disney! Quick, get on!

We arrive at DTD and immediately split up. Kristin and Emily took the camera, so what Dylan and I did was not documented photographically. And Dylan and I took me, so what Kristin and Emily did was not documented Tripreportedly.

But it will be. The next update will be a split between me/no photos and Emily/photos. Once we have time!

I love the broom water art! We've seen it a few times! Glad you got a little swim in, but sorry you were misinformed about the opening time.

CAn't wait to hear about the rest of your day. Maybe Characters in Flight happens?

Okay, I am finally caught up on all of my threads and have just about finished my PTR and have only have a day and a half left on my TR to get done before I leave in 23 days for Disney.

I've saved the best for last.

A morning quick swim is a good way to get the juices flowing.

I didn't know they did water art at the resorts? That is so cool that you saw that there (I've seen it at Epcot and MK).

How can you NOT love that walk around the CSR? It really is gorgeous.

Disney Quest? I'd rather hang with Em and Kristin thank you very much (did DQ in June...NEVER again).

Can't wait to hear about your meal at Raglan Road (which we also did after DQ).

Send me a friend request on FB at some point. I'll be updating on there for our trip next month.

A watched pot never boils and a watched for DTD bus never arrives.

We've never been to Disney Quest but we like to shop at DTD. I'll be interested to read the you/no photos Disney Quest report and the Emily/photos shopping report. I wonder if Emily & Kristin made it to the Marketplace Co-op. :scratchin I'm going to try to squeeze in a visit there in October since it sounds like they have some really cool stuff!

Ok, when did they add this smilie????? :crutches:

I still have some catching up to do, but just finished your AP/MK update!

Ugh - to the lost iPod. I have a son who blamed everything of that nature on his parental units. Good luck with that when he hits his teen years. No envy here. Been there. Done that. Sorry it happened and I know that had to put a damper on a nice meal.

be that as it may - your food looks delish. I love that restaurant. I've been there three times and am heading back in Feb! :thumbsup2

Love the beautiful sunset pictures from the dock.

Emily is too freaking cute in her princess pictures!

Great evening in the MK! Love how you guys continue to go hard core. Thank goodness for a sleep in break.

Hi Jon! It's taken me a few days but I finally got caught up with your fabulous trip report! You are really funny and I am enjoying reading along. So far my favorite laugh-out-loud moment was when you showed your picture of your dessert and it was that same whole fish. :rotfl2: My goodness, that thing was horrifying wasn't it? Then after the waitress fileted it for you....it just looked massacred! :lmao:

I think it's awesome that so far Emily has selected macaroni and cheese for all of her dinners. :thumbsup2 Sorry to hear your son was giving you sass at your fancy schmancy dinner.

Your resort is gorgeous! Living vicariously through your vacation. LOL. Planning my very first ever WDW trip for early 2016 with my DH. Woot Woot!

Ok, caught up!

Sorry about the issues at Artist Point ... always going to be something that comes up during a family vacation but bummer it negatively impacted your "two" dinner. Food looked fancy if nothing else ... especially your beer :thumbsup2

Sounds like a fun evening at MK though and you got on a lot of rides. I love BTMRR at night and the Jungle Cruise for reasons you indicated. I am secretly hoping that if/when they make Animal Kingdom a night time park as well that they use the Jungle Cruise skippers for the "after dark" safari rides ;)

Must be kinda weird to see someone with a tattoo of your house ... I mean, I know I would be kinda weirded out if someone had a tatoo of my house

Nice that with being able to have a later start to your day you could fit your GTL in ;)

That bus phenomenon definitely gets frustrating when you see a repeat bus for one location before your bus

CiF is in the plans!

I love the broom art, too. Even when scooter drivers don't see them!

Joining a bit late!

Never too late :)

Dylan and I LOVE Disney Quest! Kristin has no interest, though :)

I'll be catching up on your TR and PTR soon, too ;)

I will send you an FB request. Love live updates!

That smilie is great! Would've been perfect if I had done a TR last year! Of course, they didn't have it last year...

Not sure if the went to the Co-op. I'll have to ask Emily :)

I always think that the reason we don't see the bus we need is that 3 just left the station before we arrived.

Just joining in and enjoying your report so far! :thumbsup2

Glad to hear it! Thanks for reading :)

Emily still loves the Princesses!

Artist Point was certainly not enjoyed as much as it should've been. They were great at Narcoossee's and Jiko, so it was a bit surprising.

We don't know any other way to tour. Even when we're "relaxing", we're moving :)

That fish was something else! I was warned, but it was much different in reality :)

Happy you're enjoying this TR, and thanks for reading!

First ever WDW trip? Where to start? :woohoo:

That beer was great! Too bad I don't remember what it was :)

AK at night would be bizarre, but I agree about the Jungle Cruise skippers!

Interesting point on the tattoo.

Always time for GTL. Or at least saying there was!

Updates are coming slow because Emily doesn't type nearly as fast as I do, Holiday weekend, and other lame excuses. But they'll be here soon. Honest!

We leave in the morning, so sorry if I fall behind, but I'll catch up when we get back and hopefully start my own TR!

I don't think I ever got that FB request. We finished at Disney on Friday and are now in Marco Island for a week.

I started this report over the summer and at the rate I was reading I figured you would finish before I caught up. :lmao: What was I thinking?!

I love your reports. Were you a bit upset about missing 7 Dwarves MineTrain? Looks like you didn't miss it by much. It will be there on the next visit, at least that's how I console myself when something at Disney doesn't meet my expectations. So much to look forward to on the next trip. <cough>No construction walls at MK<cough>

Still here, but I've been CRAZY busy (and CRAZY lazy) lately. Every night is a "do I post more Trip Report?" decision, and so far, "no" has been winning. But not for long. I'll be back soon. Sorry for the delay!
