Cast Members are telling me the "switch" happened last week.

Really strange to see Disney pulling Steve's book especially since I am staying at All-Star Sports where the "hidden Steve" is loctated.

My best guessed would be a new contract involved or his got out of date and the new one includes things left out in his?
Would be interesting to know for sure though

Yes,I think you've "nailed it".

Poor Steve.

I'm not sure how I feel about the new book-it has pictures of the HMs thereby taking away the "excitement" of following the "clues" like in Steve's book and seeing the HM for the first time "live" as you "discover" it.

We could hope that perhaps Disney "bought him out" perhaps providing him a tidy sum, and I'm sure he made some money by Disney allowing the book to be sold on property for several years. I'd like to think that's what happened.

Hmmm, that's too bad. DD10 pointed it out last night at Mousegear, but I already have Steve's app on my iPhone. Didn't even notice it wasn't his book.

This is awesome!! My kids and I met Steve in Epcot two years ago and he was very gracious Awesome to see him get such a cool nod. A shame about the book. I'll still be picking up a new copy--a shame Disney won't get their cut.

They show pictures of most of the HMs unlike Steve's book where there are no HM pictures.

It is nice to have the pics,but it takes away from the "discovery" of the HM.

They've been selling a Hidden Mickey book for Disneyland that is published by Disney Publishing for about a year now, which is when the Hidden Mickey books by Steve Barrett disappeared from the shelves at DLR. The Disneyland book is fun; personally, I liked that it has photos so you know for sure if you've found the Mickey or not. I'm not surprised that they've come out with a version for Walt Disney World.

Those that have the book, is it heavy? I want to buy it and carry it around in the parks with me but I have serious back issues and therefore can only carry a poncho and wallet in my backpack without it hurting
