You can book a business class room at CRS and be assured to be in the cabanas. The business class rooms are only in one building (9A I think). It is close to the lobby and fairly close to the main pool and a quiet pool. Business class also gets access to the lounge which has complimentary food and beverages (adult and regular). The cost is just a little higher. We like CSR. It is large but we never found the walks to and from the pool and lobby bad at all. About 5 to 8 minutes from the farthest building. The worst thing I can say about CSR is the Pepper Market does not have a very good system. The food is OK but the seating and ordering system is terrible. But that hasn't stopped us from staying there several times. We found the bus ride time very fast to all of the parks. We always stay in the cabanas area.

    Thanks! :goodvibes

You'd think the Cabanas would be preferred. :confused3

Actually, we were on the far side of 2 Or 4 but it DEFINITELY isn't much better than 5 and it WAS a 20 minute walk to the pool from our room, I counted. We went in August, it was hot and humid, so that factored into our slow walking.

Well, we just booked for Sept. 17-24th at CSR in a King Water View room. We'll call and add a request to be in the Cabanas in a few days, and we'll request it again at check in or see if we can upgrade our room to get in.

Thank you so much for all the input! :goodvibes:banana:

4 still wasn't a preferred building. If you did indeed pay for preferred you need to send off and e-mail and tell them they overcharged you.

We stayed in Casitas 4 last year, with a room steps away from the quiet pool, and at most it was a 12 minute walk to the feature pool. But maybe we are just fast walkers. The only negative I have about CSR is that the preferred rooms are not close to the feature pool. It would be nice if it was a category you could pay for, a feature pool room location.

It was probably Building 2. We did a split stay, and didn't pay much attention to where we were in CSR, as we didn't care and were too excited to get to BWI. I agree, pool should be more centralized.

I started to book CSR for my DH and myself for our next trip until I read several ppl's trip reports about staying at CSR and them saying that the air conditioners have motion sensors on them and at night when nobody is moving around the room the air cuts off. The only way to have the air running at night is to get maintenance to come to your room every other day and do a manual bypass on your a/c unit. That killed it for me. I do not want to have to deal with having someone coming to my room every other day and no telling how long they will take to get there once you call or if they even show up at all. Then you are sleeping with no air.

We did not have that problem at all. In fact, I was freezing cold trying to sleep last year. I had to have housekeeping bring me extra blankets, my nephew (who I was sharing the room with) had it so darned cold!

All you have to do is hit the power and down button at the same time. It will bypass the settings and you can make it as cold as you like. Go to the CSR thread and look at the first page. It has pictures showing how to bypass the air conditioning system.

Btw, the majority of Disney resorts have motion sensors in their rooms. Not something you can easily avoid.

I like the dog picking method!

We stayed at CBR, POR and CSR. I really liked CSR and would choose it hands down for an adult only trip. We stayed in Casitas 5. It was very close to the bus stop(the first one they stop at, so no standing on the bus and also the first dropped off). It was near the fitness center and a great quiet pool by Casistas 4. It did take maybe 5-6 min. to walk to the main pool or the food court, but that didn't bother us. (I'm not sure why it would have taken someone 20 minutes from there to walk to the main pool. That must have been a pretty slow pace.)

I liked that it was a convention resort. I didn't even notice anyone there for a convention but I know there was one going on while we were there. There are more food choices there. I wasn't crazy about the tipping thing at the pepper market. The bus stop at the parks for CSR is one of the first ones you get to...so less walking to get to your bus after a long day.

The main pool is great. There is a LARGE hot tub at it. There is also a sauna at the fitness center that can be used for free. There are spa services available(for a fee) that might be nice on an adult only trip.

We thought the rooms were a bit more comfortable than the other mods. The beds have a duvet like cover on them instead of traditional bedspreads. We liked that a lot! The toiletries are a bit nicer than the other mods too. A bit more of a "grown up" "luxury" feel to it than the other mods. There is only one sink which can be a deal breaker for some people. We had no problem with that(even with 2 teenagers along).

AH. My computer froze before I could post my reply.

Thank you for the info! :goodvibes We wound up booking CSR for Sept 17-24 on Saturday!

We went for business class to take advantage of the lounge and being in Cabanas. :cool1: My only concern is the bus situation. We'll be closest to El Centro, the last stop. There aren't any conventions going on, and overall crowd levels for the week we'll be there are 1's, so we have our fingers crossed. Even if we have to stand, we don't mind. ;)

I think I ran into you at the CSR info thread! You're going in September too, right? :goodvibes Maybe we'll run into eachother!

We're planning a night in our trip to hang out at the pool and poolside lounge. The pictures I've seen of it at night look so pretty with it all lit up!
