Awww yeah, some 80s epicness from the Go-Gos! You really know some good music Joni! I swear you pick the perfect songs and I'm not honey-coating it, these songs are so nice to listen to while reading the chapters. :goodvibes

Sorry to hear you didn't have a great morning at Springhill Suites. It's so sad they have to compete with Disney on this TR. They will never ever win :sad2:

YAY for the Beach Club! I feel as if my little sniffer hasn't done enough work smelling the smells of Disney. Maybe I will have to see about staying at the Beach Club on my next trip just for this godly smell. :goodvibes

That's awesome you got one of those RFID scanners. I forget if I used those in NYC or Quebec, but they really are so cool. ::yes:: And your room is gorgeous! I love the little seashell pillows, reminds me of the cottages down in Cape Cod. :-)

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

I've never been to the Beach Club before but I've heard so much about the smell I may make a special trip there just to sniff it! Haha. Seriously though, it looks incredible! Your room looks amazing too! Love it!

So excited to hear about the rest of your trip! Awesome creativity with the soundtrack and Ratatouille food ratings:)

PS - this is my first official post as a "DISer". I've been lurking on various current and completed TRs, and yours were definitely among my favorites! Thanks for sharing your trips with all of us!

I know, it was SO exciting finally being there! I agree- you do need a Disney vacation! ;) I think we all do!

Yeah, it was so nasty. If we would have paid for that I would not have been happy.

It is AMAZING! And that smell...oh my gosh. I can believe that about the bakery. It smells so good!

Girl, that smell will change your life. Seriously. Every now and then I think I'm having nose flashbacks and I catch a whiff, and I almost cry.

I know, I was so excited about our room being ready! PIXIE DUST!

I was happy to see that Flounder was getting some face time. I feel like Sebastian usually hogs the spotlight.

I totally agree with you! I would stay in that bubble forever if I could!

Haha I'm sorry! Honestly, we walked over to YC one day and it seemed amazing, but I just love the Beach Club! I think you should do it! ;)

Thank you so much! I'm so flattered that you enjoy my TRs and that you have shared them with others! That is a huge compliment! :)

Haha isn't that song great? It's so catchy! :goodvibes BC is sooo wonderful! The smell is amazing! I love your Skynyrd reference! They hold a special place in my country girl heart!

:welcome: Thanks so much for joining in! :)

Awww thank you! They're my spoiled little brats!

It is SO good! I highly recommend it, especially if you like pesto and goat cheese!

YES! I totally agree with you. Having an AP and not being there is stressing me out so badly! Every time I open my wallet and see it I want to cry!

I soooo want to join DVC! Someday! :goodvibes

Thanks! We were so excited that our room was ready so early!

Thank you! :) I understand. The only way we're ever able to swing it is with those military discounts, and even then it's a stretch!

Seriously, the Beach Club is AMAZING! I love it so much!! :cloud9:

Thank you! I was shocked at how big it was!

Oh by the way, YOU'RE IN DISNEY RIGHT NOW! I hope you're having a perfect time!

It is definitely my favorite now too! I hope you get to stay there soon! It's wonderful! :goodvibes

I totally agree with you about hidden Mickeys. I love that they're so subtle, but still have that Disney touch!

    Thank you! :)

I know, we were so happy it was ready that early!

Thank you! It was seriously the nicest room we've ever had! I hope you get to stay there very soon! It's AMAZING! :cloud9:

Thank you so much! :) I'm glad you're enjoying it! Yes, it's always so nice when the rooms are ready early!!

Haha, I know right?! I kept waiting for the ghost twins from the Shining to show up. You're right though, other Orlando hotels just don't stand a chance!

Thank you! I'm the exact same way. I quote Full House constantly. It has so many gems that I can use in my everyday life! :rotfl:

Ohhh the bubble. How I wish I was there right now!

I know, right? I feel like this is something they should offer in people's homes. It would be a lot more effective than a candle or Febreeze or something.

I know, you were so right about the Beach Club. It's perfect!

I don't think it's weird for normal people like us, but I guess people with money to spare prefer it? I dunno, I just don't really see how it's worth the money. I'm glad so many other DISers are anti valet too!

Seriously, that smell is absolutely amazing. I was so excited to smell it because you had explained how awesome it was to me. You were totally right!

We were so happy with our room! I bet that you got one of those rooms that they just squeeze into awkward places, so they're always laid out kind of weird. I don't know why they do that!

Oooh, I need to find this Polo Black and soak everything in my house in it. Anything that is even close to that smell is going to be alright in my book!

I hope that you get to very soon! :goodvibes It's amazing!

Sure! All you have to do is go to a site like www.myvacationcountdown.com or www.mickeypath.com and you can follow the step by step instructions. First you will choose your background, then your slider, and then you will enter text. It will then give you a link so you can post it in your signature! I hope that helped! :)

I LOVE the Disney bubble! :goodvibes It's the best place to be!

    :welcome: I'm so glad you're here! :)

I think starting at DTD is great, because it helps you get excited for everything that is to come! Seriously, that pizza is amazing! Haha I know what you mean about Art of Disney. I really feel like I shouldn't go in there, but I do anyway! It's dangerous!

I totally agree about BC! The atmosphere is perfect, and being able to walk to Epcot was amazing! I want to do the same thing! I want to stay in every resort on property, but I am so tempted just to go back to the BC! :goodvibes

Thank you so much for reading my report and for your kind comment! I'm so glad you enjoy what I right, and it means a lot to me what you said about my husband. I will definitely tell him! Thank you again! :)

Thank you so much! :) Old Navy is like my best friend!

OMG you're so right...those smells are all AMAZING. I think BC would probably be my favorite, but if I could have any of those smells bottled I'd be a happy camper.

I was loving the beach theme! It was all so cool! I'm like you, I love beach/nautical stuff too! I like to pretend that I have a beach house and fill my home (which is 200 miles from the beach) with random beach-y things.

Haha you're right, Springhill Suites doesn't stand a chance again the Beach Club! And you're so right about the breakfast! You almost have to feel sorry for that wimpy little bowl of oatmeal. :rotfl:

Oh my gosh, I need to get some of that Sea Island Cotton! Seriously, anything that smells even remotely close to the Beach Club, I want! Thank you! :)

It was a really big room! We were so happy! Thank you! We had a great time! :goodvibes

I know! We were SO EXCITED!

Thank you so much! :) I'm so excited that you get to stay at the BC! I can't wait to hear what you think. I'm sure you'll love it! :thumbsup2

Yay! Haha sorry, I didn't see this until I posted a response to your other comment, so just ignore that! ;)

Thank you! :) I'm glad you're enjoying the soundtrack! The Beach Club was so amazing! I still can't believe I actually got to stay there!

Thank you! :) You're right, there's nothing like that feeling, but it does go by way too fast!

Thank you! We were so excited about it! :goodvibes

Yep! She is a maltipoo! Aww that's so cool that you have one too! I'd love to see a picture! Wow, black is really rare! Both of my girls are maltipoos, and they actually came from the same litter. Their mother was this really cool brown color, so Bella (the one pictured) is a little bit brown, but her sister Vida is a really pretty blonde color. I love my babies! :lovestruc

Thank you so much! :) I was so excited for my first Disney day!

That's okay, even though it was gross I didn't mind at all, since I would soon be eating DISNEY FOOD! :goodvibes

The Beach Club is son wonderful, and being able to get right into our room was an added bonus! It was the perfect first morning!

Thanks! I love all the buttons! I still have everyone I've ever gotten, including my "Just Married" button! :thumbsup2

That's so exciting that you're going in November! I hope my TR helps pass the time until your trip!

The Beach Club is SO amazing! It's definitely my favorite! Thank you! :) I'm glad you like the pictures, there's a lot more to come! Haha I was SOOO happy. I think I may have been freaking out just a little, you know. Nothing unusual! ;)

Aww thank you SO much for your kind comment! :) That made my day! I'm so glad you enjoy my TR. Thank you for reading along!

I hope that you get to stay at the Beach Club someday! It sounds like it would be perfect for you and your DH! :) That is so cool that you are going to Disney so soon! I hope you have an amazing time!

Thank you! I'm glad you're enjoying it! :) I know, the Beach Club is so amazing!

Yay! I'm so glad you're liking the music!

Haha that's okay! Springhill Suites could have served me a lobster and filet mignon and I'd still compare it to Disney! It's just not fair! :rotfl2:

YES! You have to smell the Beach Club, Timmy. I'm not even kidding, it will change your life.

The RFID scanners are really cool, and much more convenient! :thumbsup2 We were so happy with our room! :goodvibes

I highly recommend a special trip just for the smell! Well, you could go for the smell and to eat at Beaches n Cream! That would totally be worth the trip! :thumbsup2

Thank you! :) I'm glad you like my crazy TR writing system!

Awww yay! Thank you for reading my TRs and for commenting! And since this is your first official post, let me be the first to say, :welcome: I love meeting new DIS friends! :goodvibes

    I’m pickin’ up good vibrations...

Ready for more Beach Club room pictures? I hope so! I thought a Beach Boys song would be an appropriate accompaniment, since they are the masters of all things beachy.

Here’s our balcony! I was so excited that we got a full balcony! It was wonderful sitting out there everyday!

And here’s our view from the balcony!

I realized later that even though all you could see was trees beyond our balcony, we were actually like right across from Epcot, because we could hear the music playing in the WS and we were able to see the fireworks at night! It was awesome! :thumbsup2

Back inside, I had more pictures to take!

Look at that lamp! AHH. I wanted it so badly.

Here’s our bathroom, complete with beautiful wallpaper!

    And our bathtub!

    I was PUMPED.

Seriously, we were like kids in a candy shop. We were racing around the room freaking out about everything.

    “Honey, look at THIS!”
“I know, look over here at THIS!”

That was pretty much us for about ten minutes. We paused long enough for a balcony picture!

As I was racing through the room again I finally noticed our Mickey towel!

    YAY! Hotel room sensory overload!!

Finally we calmed down enough to realize that in our haste we had not, in fact, gotten everything out of the car. I had left my toiletry bag in the backseat, which is the most important thing that I did NOT want to leave in the sun for an extended period of time, so we headed back to the car.

Here’s the BC lobby from the top of the stairs:

I found this old car outside and got really excited.

    DRIVING.

    Look how beautiful!

    It’s so perfect!

I’m READY. Let the memories begin!

We made it back to the room again, and went spent some time unpacking. Well, I unpacked while John sat on the balcony. I love unpacking as soon as I get to Disney, partially because I’m OCD but also because it makes me feel like I actually live there!

It didn’t take me long, and I was really proud of us because after everything we had already accomplished that morning, it was only 9:09!

Can you believe that? I feel like the Disney gods had pressed the pause button for our first morning in Disney, because time was going SO slowly, which never happens on a Disney Vacation!

It was time to get out and explore!

Up Next: More Beach Club exploring, and our first park of the trip! Stay tuned!

Oh man, I love having a song to play while I'm reading your tr!! Especially when they match so perfectly as the Beach Boys and your Beach Club hotel room! :cloud9: The Beach Boys just put me in a good mood when I hear them. As does anything Disney, but I bet you could probably guess that since I'm a Dis-er too!! ;)

AHHHH that room. So beautiful, so classy, so top notch!! I'm in love with it. What a perfect view from the balcony too! Glad you are all settled in to your new "home"!! And before 9:30?! Now you have a whole magical day ahead of you without having to worry about unpacking! Can't wait to hear what you do!!

Your room is really lovely! And that balcony! How cool that y'all could see the EPCOT fireworks & hear the music.

I'm the same way - I like to unpack as soon as we get to the room. I feel like I'm not allowed to start having fun until that's done. :rotfl2:

"(Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay"- Otis Redding

    July 8, 2012

Sitting on the dock of the bay
    Watching the tide roll away
I'm just sitting on the dock of the bay
    Wasting time

After being at Disney the night before and that morning without going to a park, I think it’s safe to assume that I was getting really anxious. I NEEDED to be in a park. It had to happen, like, immediately. So, which park do you go to when you are staying at the Beach Club and you want to get there fast?

    ANIMAL KINGDOM, DUH.

Haha, just kidding! We were going to Epcot, of course! But first, we had to do some resort exploring! On our way out of the room, I took a picture of our fancy schmancy RFID door thingy.

Let’s hear it, left side of the audience. “Oooooh...” And now right side? “Ahhhh...” I know, it’s super exciting. Still, I felt pretty privileged to have a chance to try the new technology. Keep moving forward!

On our walk to the lobby I quickly came to the conclusion that the Beach Club has the most beautiful decor I’ve ever seen. Specifically, the accent chairs and light fixtures.

LOOK! A place to play checkers!

I love that Disney adds these extra little touches, even though I seriously cannot think of a single time that I’ve been at Disney World and thought, “Hmmm, there is literally nothing to do here. I sure wish I could play some checkers.” I guess they’re planning for everything!

We decided to stop in the gift shop and food court area just to get acquainted with where everything was located.

We passed through pretty quickly, figured out where everything was, and headed back the other way. That’s when I saw my first light fixture that I obsessed over.

    Look at this one!

I could've wandered around the lobby all day, but we were both anxious to get to Epcot so we headed outside!

    I see Stormalong Bay!

I was SO excited to swim in that pool!

John saw Hurricane Hanna’s and made a mental note to get himself a nice adult beverage there later in the week. If you didn’t know, Hurricane Hanna’s is the poolside bar and grill at Stormalong Bay. They serve sodas, beer, mixed drinks, and some light fare.

There’s the beautiful, gorgeous sand bottom pool! I had to resist the urge to run back to the room and put on my bathing suit!

There’s the lighthouse! That’s the dock you go to if you want to take a friendship boat to DHS or Epcot! Although I don’t see why anyone staying at Beach Club, Yacht Club, or the Boardwalk wouldn’t just walk to Epcot, but that’s just me!

I love those beautiful sandy beaches! John was slightly offended that he wasn’t allowed to swim in that water. You would think the nice layer of green scum coating the entire service would dissuade him, but no.

Seriously, the Beach Club is the perfect resort in my opinion. It just has this amazing relaxed feel to it, and it is so perfectly themed. I really felt like I was on a relaxing beach vacation every time I was there. Coming back to the Beach Club after a long park day was indescribable. It was the absolute perfect way to unwind. That’s why I chose the Otis Redding song for this part of the update. It kind of makes me think of that relaxing BC atmosphere!

Anyway, back to exploring. I was so excited!

After dragging John all over the place to see every last nook and cranny of the Beach Club, I was finally ready to walk to Epcot!

If you’ve never stayed at an Epcot resort, it literally takes like three minutes to walk to Epcot via the international gateway. It was so amazing!

Plus, it’s such a beautiful path!

Within just a few minutes, we were going through the bag check at Epcot and it was time for me to use this bad boy for the first time EVER!

Up Next: John meets a sourpuss, and our first adventures in Epcot! Stay tuned!

I'm so glad you enjoy listening to the music while you read the update! :) It makes me so happy that you guys are liking the soundtrack thing!

I'm the same with the Beach Boys, and Disney, of course! :goodvibes

I was so in love with it too! It was seriously the most perfect hotel room we've ever stayed in! :cloud9: I still can't believe how quickly we got everything done! It was so nice having the entire day ahead of us!

Thank you! :) We were so happy with our room! I was so surprised when I realized we could see the fireworks! That was such an awesome added bonus!

That is EXACTLY how I feel! I can't imagine getting out and going to parks until I've unpacked! I'm glad I'm not the only one who does that! :)

I totally know what you mean about the Beach Club. I could explore there, and at many of the other resorts, all day. If the parks were closed I wouldn't even be mad. And being able to walk to Epcot is just... there are no words. To quote my queen Stacey, "How cool is THAT, RIGHT?"

Love that resort! I'm pretty sure I will need to stay there next trip. My kids would LOVE that pool.

I need one of those nice slow Disney pause days next week! I am already worried that it will go by too fast!

Can't wait to read about Epcot!

Yay, another TR update!! Yes, DH and I would love to stay at the Beach Club resort! We are total beach bums. :thumbsup2 I didn't realize that it was so close to Epcot! It is so cool that you can walk to Epcot. We are planning to go back to Disney in the spring of next year. So I will definitely look into staying at the Beach Club resort. :woohoo: When we go in two weeks we plan to make Epcot our first park too. Can't wait to read what happens next on your vacay :cheer2:

I may be letting my geek flag fly here but I love seeing the picture of the RFID thing on the door. So exciting! :yay:

You are really making me excited for our trip to get here with all of your pretty pictures of BC. The first night we're going to just hang out at the pool & I think we'll grab a quick bite to eat at Hurricane Hanna's. The pool looks great! :woohoo:

I can't get over how white & pretty the sand is on the beach!
