Howdy folks and welcome to yet another of my TRs! This will be my 9th here on the DIS! My 8th TR is still going so I will be writing two at once. I was a bit lazy here and copied a lot of this introduction from the previous TR so you can probably skim if you’ve read my past TRs.

For anyone who hasn’t read my past TRs (links in my signature for anyone bored enough to go back), I’m Ariana, I’m 42 years young and live outside of Atlanta, GA. I travel to Disney quite often and with different people at different times. This trip was just me and my husband, Jim. He’s nowhere the Disney fan that I am but I’ve been cramming it down his throat often enough that he is slowly coming around. This was definitely the most fun of all the trips because he was mostly on board for everything. Here’s my favorite Photo Pass picture from this trip.

We don’t have any children in the traditional sense, ours all have four legs and fur. We have four dogs, the oldest being Eddie. He is a Schnauzer and is 14 years old and in pretty bad shape. He is completely blind having lost both eyes to glaucoma and he has gotten quite senile in his old age. He was also diagnosed with cancer last April and we were given an estimate of 5 months left with him. Well we are now over 9 months out and he has shown no signs of further decline and is beating the odds for now.

Our second “child” is Alex. He is the first one that “followed” me home from the Animal Shelter I volunteer at. He is a Schnauzer mix, his mom was a pure-bred schnauzer who went for a walk one day and came back pregnant. We brought him home as a puppy a little over 9 years ago and he has been my baby ever since. He’s almost always in the same room as me unless he’s going for a car ride with Jim. He loves car rides. He’s also obsessed with socks and steals them from us all the time. I have to tell guests to hide theirs as he will dig through suitcases in search of them.

Third on the list is Jim’s baby Sierra. She is very devoted to her daddy and has to follow him everywhere. Unlike Alex, she hates riding in the car because she gets sick. Plus she is deathly afraid of windshield wipers. She even freaks out if she sees them on TV. She is our youngest at 5 ½ years but we got her as a puppy so we’ve had her longer than our last baby.

Last but certainly not least is Remy. Two Christmas’s ago, a friend at the shelter asked me to foster this pathetic little Yorkie over the holidays while the shelter was closed. He was badly underweight and it was obvious he wasn’t well taken care of for the first 4 years of his life. Well once he got into our home and our hearts there was no way he was going back. He will be 6 years old next month and he and Sierra are best buds. He is all of 6 pounds but thinks he is a huge dog. He likes to “guard” our yard from the “evil” dogs that our neighbors own.

So a few details about the trip then we will move onto the good stuff.

Dates: January 28th through February 2nd, 2016

Resort: Caribbean Beach/King Sized Bed with a request to be in Jamaica and near transportation

Plan: I went with the Play, Stay and Dine plan this time as it was the best deal so we had a regular dining plan for the trip.

Title: I think you will figure it out really quickly after the first installment. Jim is a fan of heavy metal music (can anyone figure out his favorite band by checking out the names of our two oldest dogs) and is completely obsessed with Devil Horns. When we went in 2013 he made a point of flashing them in almost every picture. Well, he continued that tradition for this trip.

Yay! Joining in! My husband and I met at a metal fest, but now that I think on it - he didn't throw the horns once on our whole trip in 2014. No, wait....not true. He threw them on Star Tours, which we rode 11 times.

Can't wait to read along!

Rain or Shine We Will Have a Great Time!

Our flight on Thursday, January 28th was at 10:55 am. I’ve copied my schedule from the brief PTR I did in my last TR as a reminder of what I had to do before our flight:

7 am – 7:30 am – Drop off the dogs at the “doggie spa”. They open at 7 and I plan to be there even a little earlier than that so I can be first in line. Filling out the paperwork usually takes about ½ hour.

7:30 am – 8:15 am – Drive to Jim’s workplace to pick him up. He is planning on going in for a few hours (he normally starts work at 6 am) so I will need to drive down there to pick him up. We are leaving one car at his work. I’m hoping that 45 minutes will be enough time but it will be in the middle of Atlanta rush hour(s) so it could take me longer.

8:15 am – 8:45 am – complete the drive to the offsite parking place that we use. Jim will be driving at this point and he’s a crazy driver so I’m pretty sure we will make it in a ½ hour.

8:45 am – 9:15 am – wait for and take shuttle to the airport.

My morning started off right on schedule. We got up around 5 am and Jim was out the door and off to work by 5:30 am. I got ready and finished packing and was out the door by 6:45 which put me at the vet’s at 6:50 am and I was the first in the door. I took Eddie with me into the lobby only because I did not trust him not to pee or poop in my brand new car.

Oh yeah, I bought a brand new 2016 Chevy Trax about a week before the trip. I had a Chevy Equinox and it was just a little too big for me. I still wanted an SUV so I went with the Trax which is basically a “Mini Me” version of the Equinox. Here’s some pictures.

When I purchased my Equinox 5 years ago I was planning on buying a blue one but changed my mind at the last minute. So I already had this antenna topper that matches my new car perfectly.

OK, went a little off topic there, let’s get back to me dropping the dogs off at the vet’s. I filled out all the paperwork and then one of the ladies took Eddie to the back and I headed out and get the other three. I planned on bringing one in at a time and hooked up Sierra on a leash to take her next. But Remy and Alex had different ideas and jumped out of the car before I could shut the door again. I managed to grab Alex and get him hooked up to a leash but when I turned around to get Remy he was gone. It was still dark out so I was panicked for a bit thinking he had run off across the street into the woods and was long gone. Luckily he was just under a bush next to the car so I scooped him up and headed back into the lobby. By the time I got inside, Sierra was wrapped three times around my legs and I couldn’t even move. The ladies at the front desk had to help me get untangled before they could take the other three to the back. I’m sure the whole incident was quite funny to them but I don’t think I will be taking the dogs by myself ever again!

I was actually a little ahead of schedule when I finished all that mess. It was 7:20 when I climbed back in my car and headed out of the parking lot. It was at that moment that I realized that I had to go to the bathroom and there was no way I was making it all the way to Jim’s work without a stop. I drank way too much water that morning! No idea why I didn’t think to ask at the vet’s but I was probably just too flustered at that point. I didn’t want to head back home because it was in the opposite direction from the highway so instead I made a quick stop at a Chick-Fil-A before continuing on.

Traffic was just as bad as I thought it would be and it was about 8:20 by the time I pulled into Jim’s work. I still had to wait 10 more minutes for Jim to come out and then we switched cars so we could leave my new car at his work rather than at the offsite parking spot we use.

I did mention before that Jim is a crazy driver and we made it to the offsite parking lot by 8:50 am. If I had been driving it would have been closer to 45 minutes, not 20!

The rest of the trip to our gate was very smooth. A bus came right away, there was no line to check our bags and the TSA Pre-Check went quickly. We were at our gate with 45 minutes to spare. We decided to get some breakfast since we were not planning on eating lunch. There was a Chick-Fil-A near the gate so we got Chicken Mini’s (small bits of chicken on light, fluffy, buttery biscuits) and hash browns.

I am horrible at selfies but I did try the “we are excited to go to Disney” one once we boarded the plane.

The flight was a little bumpy due to some weather in Florida but we made it just fine and after a quick bathroom break we were in line for DME.

We waited all of zero seconds as they were loading a bus right at that moment. We did end up in the very back of the bus but I’ll take that over a long wait any day. This was our view.

And unfortunately this was the view out the window.

Our bus was scheduled to go to Beach Club, Yacht Club, Boardwalk and Caribbean Beach. I was sure we would be the last stop since they always seem to go to the deluxes first but I was pleasantly surprised when we were the first stop. Before that though, I took this lovely picture of the welcome sign. That’s the best I could do from the way back.

Yeah we have arrived!

I had done online check in and we had yet to receive a text saying our room was ready. I decided to stop at the desk though because I had some issues with my magic band the previous trip and wanted to verify it was OK this time. I also wanted to make sure my CC was attached correctly since that was a problem the previous trip also. A young CM named Allison waited on us and she was just the best! She checked everything for me and also told me that our room was in Building 46 in Jamaica. That was the exact building I was hoping for so I was very pleased.

We checked our carry-on bags with bell services and headed across the street to the Barbados bus stop. It was still raining so I pulled out my lovely dollar store poncho. Jim’s birthday was in January so he got a pin at the front desk and was proudly wearing it.

As we were waiting, a large group of teenaged dancers came up. Oh boy, didn’t realize we would have that to deal with on this trip. But overall, they were not bad and we didn’t run into them a lot on our trip.

A bus came quickly, we had some of the best bus service of any trip I’ve been on. We never had to stand one time and the longest we waited was 10 minutes. I tried one more selfie on our way to Epcot. And the Devil Horns begin.

Luckily for all of you, that was the last one I attempted during the trip.

We pulled into Epcot right at 2:30 pm. Not bad as we landed at 12:30 pm so only 2 hours from touch down to being in a park. I had not planned on making it to Epcot till at least 4 pm so now we had lots of extra time to fill.

Right past bag check a security guard approached Jim and told him Happy Birthday and please follow me. He was pulled for the extra screening but he wasn’t upset he actually thought it was kind of cool. I took some pictures but I didn’t get a great shot of him going through the metal detectors.

Despite the rain there were PP photographers right past the entrance so we stopped for some. I’m glad we did since we got the favorite of the whole trip here.

The CM took quite a few pictures.

We also got our first Magic Shot (click on the photo below, it's actually a short movie):

I was a little hungry at this point and knew I wouldn’t make it till dinner time. My original plan was to have a Mickey Ice Cream Sandwich but with the rain I decided a snack at Sunshine Seasons would be a better idea. So we started back that way.

OK... All caught up... I love your new car! About a week after you got it, the girls and I saw one, and I was way more excited to see a car than I should have been... I remember telling them that was the car you just got... It's such a nice size! I can imagine myself driving a car that size once they go off to college.

So glad Remy didn't run off, that would have been so horrible! I did lol about you getting wrapped up... That's me with MM and SC!

Glad ME was easy and buses were good for you... And very happy you got the building you requested.

Hehehe... I was chosen to be security checked soooo often! It did get old after a while, but I understood.

You and Jim are so cute! I love that photo in front of SSE! I can't wait to hear about the rest of the trip.

D~

Here :)
I'll be following along from my phone, but probably won't post much. My only chance to DIS is my lunch break and it doesn't allow much time.
Love the intro. We are considering CBR for next trip, so I'm interested to see it!

I'm here! Oh boy two trip reports at once you have your hands full!

Nice new car! I love the color. My mom has the same antenna topper but it's not on her car currently.

Anyways, looks like you had a nice arrival at the Wonderful World of Walt Disney. Great PP pictures as well!

Nice start! Love the new car! I have a 2013 Equinox and love it but I have seen the Trax recently, those are nice too.

You made great time to be able to be at Epcot in 2 hours.

Cute Tink Magic Shot!

That is the BEST picture of you and Jim! We were just taliking about you guys last night. Gabe jsut LOVES Jim, and he talks all the time about the cool people that got him the Sith book! Let us know next time you make plans to visit Nash-Vegas! Also, we need to chat sometime about maybe meeting up for dinner on our way back home in October. Not sure yet what time we plan to leave Orlando. I will let you know when we get it all worked out.

Cute selfies! Gotta love the devil horns! Hmmmm... should we call these Ari-ima repors? Ari-ima trips always have the devil horns! LOL!

Glad you've started your TR and to hear that is was your best trip with Jim!

Sounds like all pre-travel and travel things went smoothly. Loving the selfies :)

Those Epcot PP pictures came out awesome!

I'm here, and on the first page (I think!)

Comments without the quoted photos, because it was so many great photos!

*Nice Car!
*Sorry about the dogs, but I'm sure it was comical to the ladies at the boarding check-in.
*Ha! Your photo of the Disney sign is much better than the view I had when we got there--we were in the back also, and I really couldn't see it at all. :(
*Barbados bus stop--that was our stop for our trip, and it was a good one!
* Love the photo of Jim's Birthday button with the water drops!!!
*Nice photopass photos--also like the magic shot--I never did get a tinkerbell one when I was there--Next time!

Glad you had a great trip! I'm looking forward to reading about your adventures.

I'm here to read. Loved seeing the pictures on fb, now I get to hear about the details behind them.

Love your new car. Glad your topper matched.

Loved the photopass photos. Haven't seen one where Tinkerbelle was flying above before.

YAY!
Oh hi..it's me..I'm back again...
FINALLY lol

Great start to the TR! Loving the pictures, and YOU ARE KILLING IT by being in the park 2 hours after TOUCH DOWN?! Geeze! I'm lucky if I make it to the resort by that time! Love the photopass pictures too, cute video!!

Hooray….another trip report!! I can’t believe that little rascal jumped out of the car on you – my heart would have been in my knees; thank goodness the pup was close by – crisis averted J We absolutely LOVE CBR. We’ve stayed there 3 times now and our preference has always been Jamaica – you just can’t beat the return bus service (1st stop majority of the time!).

Yay, yay, yay, another devil horn filled TR :) Since we're friends now, let me just tell you, the title of your original devil horn TR drew me in and was the whole reason I started reading trip reports in the first place!!! I absolutely LOVED when you messaged me that first devil horn selfie--it came when I was having such a bad day, and definitely gave me reason to smile!

The PP at Epcot sure did get an awesome picture of you and Jim. I love it!! Hope you framed it already because it's totally adorable!

Our bus was scheduled to go to Beach Club, Yacht Club, Boardwalk and Caribbean Beach. I was sure we would be the last stop since they always seem to go to the deluxes first but I was pleasantly surprised when we were the first stop.
We've stayed at the BC many times and the buses always stop at the CBR first, then BWI, BC and YC.

We pulled into Epcot right at 2:30 pm. Not bad as we landed at 12:30 pm so only 2 hours from touch down to being in a park.
You made good time. Too bad it was raining.

we got the favorite of the whole trip here.
That is a really nice picture of the two of you. :)

Following along! Your new car is so cute. I love your topper. Just thought I'd give you a heads up though about the Mickey antennas, my mom had one and she loved it. She walked out of a store and it was gone, stolen. She was so disappointed. She did get a replacement and just would take it off before going in and out of stores, but sometimes forgot to take it off. Well that one was stolen too. I hope yours stays safe.
Your picture I front of Spaceship Earth is darling. You two make a cute couple.
