The Devil Horns Ride Again! A Rockin’ Jan/Feb TR New PTR Link 10/13!

Wow! You sure packed in a lot of character meets. I love that Jim is such a good sport for the PP pictures. I think you really got some great shots.
I have a question about your annual pass. My pre to have an annual pass and we will be going with them in November. Do I have to purchase a separate memory maker or can they link me to their account? Also, is their memory maker that was included in their pass good for the entire year of their pass?

I really wish i wasn't allergic to eggs!!! It looks so good!

i am seriously loving your outfits on SE.. there is NOTHING better here.

Dinner sounds great! I've never had a Scotch egg but it sounds delicious. And Spaceship Earth sounds like the perfect way to end the night!

I've never had a Scottish Egg but it looks and sounds pretty tasty! Interesting that they serve you one big piece of fish instead of smaller ones.

I love that Big Al figurine you purchased.

I know what you mean about not getting enough steps on a regular basis :(

Scotch Eggs are very tasty! You should give one a try if you run across it.

Yesterday I cleaned all day in anticipation of my Mom and brother visiting last week and I still only got a little over 5000 steps!

I've always wanted to eat at Rose and crown specifically to try the fish and chips. We have a ton of fish fry locations here in the Milwaukee area.

I'm very jealous of the Big Al figure I didn't see him oh well hopefully they still have him next time.

I usually hit 10,000 steps when I'm at school with gym classes and walking in between classes. I think at Disney I averaged closer to 20,000.

I've definitely had better fish but the fries are outstanding and of course the Scotch Egg!

I hope you will be able to get the Big Al figure.

I wish I had a job where I moved around more but unfortunately I'm at a computer all day.

0 calories eaten at Disney...now THAT'S will-power!! ;-)

You were spotting PP photographers everywhere!!! Definitely seems like you got your money's worth this trip.

Love the fish and chips and Rose and Crown--I've never had that app but I know you always rave about it. I saw them on a menu at Sprecher's (a Wisconsin chain restaurant) and almost ordered it, but I chickened out. If I ever try it, you bet I'll be trying the one in WDW!

Ha! I wish I could go with no calories. That's just called being too lazy to look up and input the info.

We did see a lot of PP photographers this trip and even some in new locations.

You should try it! Jim and I order one any time we see them on the menu.

I love rose & crown, although i dont know if I've ever had the scotch egg or f&c inside there! Lol. Glad you enjoy it though. Looks like a rather lovely evening

We did have a lovely evening and very yummy meal.

No, not weird at all! Normally we're like that too but because there are so many at WDW, I like having the list.

Mmmm, Scottish eggs. The fish & chips look good too. I've heard a lot of people say that they're better at Yorkshire.

Jim dessert looks so good. That was one of my favorite things at F&W back in 2013. Sorry you didn't like your dessert. I think that's one of the reason we took Rose & Crown off our list for this trip. DH didn't really find anything he liked either.

Yeah, I wish the fish was the same because I love Yorkshire.

I actually wish I would have tried that dessert. I'm not a huge fan of caramel but I think I could have asked for it without the sauce.

Oh, I have my eye on that Donald Duck key chain and Stitch/Yoda!

I love my Stitch Yoda! We saw the key chains in a lot of places. I got a Pluto version at AK during my November trip.

Fun day. Have you made scotch eggs at home? I have tried a few times ( baked them instead of fried,) so yummy, but not as pretty looking as rose and crown's.

No, haven't tried it at home. Neither Jim nor I are very good cooks so I'm not sure how that would turn out!

Mmmmmm...I should know better than to check the Disboards right before lunch! That food from R&C looks so good!!!! I really do want to try Yorkshire sometime. Maybe I can when I go in July... October will not be an option since we plan to do F&W on our Epcot day.

Can you help answer a few questions about getting an AP? How does is work to have a family room and ticket package when one family member has an AP and does not need the tickets? I am considering getting an AP while I am there in July. Won't this save us on our October trip? What is the cost breakdown? Will the price of my four day tickets in July be discounted from the cost of the AP?

I do love Yorkshire but it may be hard with a large group because they serve nothing but fish and chips. So if you have someone who doesn't like them they are out of luck.

I think I answered your questions to the best of my ability on your PTR but since I haven't had an AP in a few years, I'm not the best one to ask.

We did get some greet meets and PP pictures that day.

I'm really sorry but I don't know the answer to your question. I haven't had an AP for a few years and when I did, MM was not offered.

I really wish i wasn't allergic to eggs!!! It looks so good!

That is too bad that you are allergic because those eggs are good!

Ha! All of those future outfits on SE are so ugly! I hope that's not really the future of fashion.

They are very good! I love riding SE at the end of the evening because there is never any line.

Freezing Our Butts Off With the Yeti Part 1

We were up on Saturday January 30th, 2016 at 4:45 am. I did say super early in the last update! And why were we up at that time? Animal Kingdom was open at 7 am for morning EMHs and I wanted to take full advantage of it. Jim is a morning person and is always up by 5 am so I was the only one struggling a little.

We left the room around 6:15 am and it was still dark. I took some pictures of our view. Looking to the right.

Left

And straight ahead.

We made it halfway to the bus stop when Jim remembered that he had forgotten to lock the safe. So we turned back around and took care of that before heading back to the bus stop. An AK bus came around 6:35 am and it wasn’t long before we were at the park. The sun was just starting to rise and the sky was absolutely beautiful. I wish this next picture wasn’t quite so blurry.

Oh and I forgot to mention that it was cold that morning. As in 45 degrees cold. That may not sound too bad to some but our thin southern blood was not happy.

We lined up to get in and I took an updated photo of the Avatar construction. I’m sure it’s much further along now.

My goal for the morning EMHs was to hit up Expedition Everest and Dinosaur. I did have three FPs made for the day, Safari from 9:10 am – 10:10 am, Festival of the Lion King 10:20 am – 10:50 am and Mickey & Minnie meet from 11:50 am – 12:50 pm. But of course I made those when AK was supposed to open at 8 am and when they moved the time back to 7 am I didn’t go back and revise the FPs. I wasn’t even sure if we would use them with the time change. Jim is not a huge fan of AK so I was only planning to stay in the park till lunch time.

We entered the park right at 7 am and made a beeline towards EE. I took a quick photo of the tree as we passed by. They still had it lit up and it looked beautiful.

Jim did not like EE on our last trip and I fully expected him to sit out. But he said he wanted to ride so we got in line. Well, we walked through the line since it was nonexistent.

Oh man was this a cold ride! My eyes were watering so bad it looked like I was crying and I couldn’t feel my hands by the end of the ride. So I present to you what it looks like riding EE in 45 degree weather.

When we got off I asked Jim if he liked it better this time and he said he did. So I said (almost jokingly) “want to ride again?” And he said "yes, let’s go!" I was shocked but we circled around and got in line again. There was a very short line this time and I took two photos as we walked.

And our second ride photo, just as cold as the first. And look at how brave Jim was with his hands up! I think it was on this time through that he finally spotted the Yeti.

Jim actually asked about a third ride but it was too cold and my stomach was at its limit. So we moved on towards Dinoland. We did watch EE for a few minutes because Jim wanted to see a car come down the hill.

We made it to Dinoland.

And Dinosaur was down. Darn, that put a wrench in my plans. There wasn’t much else open for EMHs so we decided to slowly make our way back towards the Safari which opened at 8 am. Workers were busy, busy on the Rivers of Light seating area.

We made it back to Discovery Island and I felt bad for the CM working It’s Tough to Be a Bug. He was basically begging us to come see the show. We said we would come back later (which never happened) and continued on our way.

Jim spotted a PP photographer with no line near the tree so we stopped. We were still a bit cold and you can sure tell by my hair that we had just ridden EE twice.

We made it to the Safari around 7:50 am and got in line.

It wasn’t as bad as it looked because the ride wasn’t open yet and they were not letting people in the actual line. It gave me a few minutes to look around. I just love that even on the rooftops, there is theming.

The let us into the line right at 8 am and it wasn’t long at all before we were making our way onto our safari truck. This turned out to be an awesome safari, one of the best I’ve ever been on. I guess what they say about the animals being more active in the cold was true that morning. But I’m guessing you guys just want to see all the photos I took, right? Well here you go.

Freezing Our Butts Off With the Yeti Part 2

This was my first time seeing the Painted Dogs. I think they are beautiful creatures but every time I see them I think of my hometown zoo in Pittsburgh PA. A family was holding their child out over the fence and dropped him and the dogs killed him. Such a horrible tragedy and the zoo ended up discontinuing the display.

The Ankole cattle were right along the edge of the road.

We were stopped for a few minutes by a rogue Ostrich hanging out in the road.

For the first time ever, I got to see the Cheetahs doing more than just laying around.

And somebody else was up and about!

We saw way more animals than I got pictures of. Even Jim, who hates looking at animals and normally thinks the safari is boring, really enjoyed it this time.

Up Next: Babies Galore!

Wow, you weren't kidding when you said early!

That first picture of the tree of life is gorgeous.

I can imagine how cold it must have been on EE! I'm glad Jim enjoyed it more this time around though!

Great safari pictures! I love the giraffes and the painted dogs (though that's such a sad story about what happened at the Pitt zoo :() And you got great pics of the Lion!

I thought riding EE in the low 50's was cold. It's nice to see active animals on the safari.

You really did take full advantage of early EMH!

The second EE photo caught my eye cause it appears the guy in front of you is wearing a Milwaukee Brewers sweatshirt which is our local baseball team.

Anyways, marathon weekend 2015 was pretty cold like that and of course I wore shorts everyday.

Great safari photos! I don't know if I have ever seen the lion walking around like that during a safari.

45 degrees is very cold. It was 45 degrees today and I was wearing a winter coat. I can't imagine how cold I would have been if I just had a sweatshirt on.

I can't believe how active the animals were. Did you ever reschedule those fp's for later in the day?

With our group in July, we are just getting the QS dining plan, and we are not trying to do anything as a group. I will schedule the FP's, but they do not have to be all at the same time. The instructor will just tell the students they HAVE to go on them, and there will be an assignment of some sort attached to them. All that to say....I really don't care who does or does not like fish and chips at Yorkshire...I can get them if I darn well please. LOL!!!!

Your safari photos are so epically awesome!!!!

There wasn’t much else open for EMHs so we decided to slowly make our way back towards the Safari which opened at 8 am.

That's crazy that they don't have the safari open early for EMH?? But glad you got on early and had an awesome ride. That's a terrible story about the kid at your local zoo. Ugh.

That's weird that they don't have the safari open for the EMH. I could have sworn I read somewhere that it was.

Wonderful safari pics, especially the lion. He's always such a turkey when we're there. He's either hiding somewhere or in a position when you can't really get a good look at him.

Brrrr. I can feel the cold on those EE pics!!! I cracked up that you said Jim FINALLY saw the Yeti!!! :)

Your safari pics are always awesome--you really outdid yourself this time!! The pics are all so crisp and gorgeous. PLUS, I can't believe you finally saw the lion doing something other than lounging!!! All my pics are always of one side of his head :) Awesome morning at AK!

Great early morning pictures of AK - the tree looks so pretty!

Two rides on EE is a sure way to get yourself going on an early morning!

And that looks like a great safari! I guess the animals are more active on cooler mornings. Great pictures - all of the big cats are fun since I've only ever seen them sleeping!

I am loving all your Meet n Greets and that your DH enjoys doing it:flower1:!

I agree about the fish at Yorkshire is better than Rose & Crowns, I wonder if we could request it at the restaurant ??? because my DH is a fan of the Scottish Egg also.

Great job on this Rockin TR :rockband:! Speaking of Rockin, I am dying to know which band Mo's little brother is going to tour with 8-)

Monica
