The ABC's of Trip Planning, Pt 1- K is for Keeping Things Kooky- Drinks V-Z; pg. 197 + New Link

Of Course.... but it won't impact class so in the end I guess that's good.

This is very true. That is certainly the bright side. This little netbook is ok, but very slow. :(

Hopefully, I can catch up everyone's threads very soon- maybe tomorrow or Thrursday.

I am SO sad that our dates are just this much "off" for this weekend. That would have been beyond lovely. Hopefully we can figure something out before July and if not, we must plan around that if possible, I will send you the dates:) Still though, as fab as the beach will be, Mike needs to come see the plane too! Serioulsy, other than the Salishan outing, Jeff and I will be in town all summer. The kids not entirely, but we will be!

Food and Wine. Be still my heart. Love the $$ for the kiddos idea...even better, get a Disney gift card from Safeway instead of cash and get yourself some gas rewards while bying them. LOL!

Jeff and I did one culinary seminar this past fall and Mary Ellen and I have done a couple as well. They are loads of fun. But with an "in"? Even better!

You would adore AP, it's very Northwest to be sure so but is absolutely stunning on every level. Just lovely.

Love that you bought a bottle in my honor, between the part time no go for Andrew and Mikki missing deadlines (don't get me started on K and that whole siutation lol or we will need the whole bottle) I am sure you needed a lovely glass of wine!

Food and wine is at the top of my to-do list as well! I'm really excited to be there this fall! How fun to have an "in". :goodvibes

But here is an idea, my friends… what if, just what if, I put $50 into each young’un’s stocking and told them they could spend it on whatever their little ol’ heart desired on our trip? Then when things get a’looking mighty tasty during our strolling tour around the Lagoon, I don’t have to hear the tired and overused “Can I please…? Serenade”.
Good idea! At least until they blow it on souvenirs on day 1 and then get hungry walking around the lagoon and you hear it anyway. :rolleyes1

That or you have WAY too much time on your hands and really know how to waste company dollars doing online “research”.
I have no idea what you're talking about. My work is caught up so I'm taking a mental break for a few minutes. :rolleyes1

It has been hinted that a gratis experience would be in the making prior to our trip. Aside from F&W, I was also told that perhaps Artist’s Point “would treat me well”- but more on that later…
Ok, I'm definitely intrigued by that!

I am hoping to do F & W one day. Not sure when. I don't think I can wait until Chelsea is in college so she would have all of September off.

I need to get some actual work done and quit "researching".

When Mike & I went in Oct 2013, we happened to be there doing the F&W. Mike being a foodie was in heaven! We only had 3 days total in the parks, so we didn't sign up for any of the seminars but did use our Snack Credits from the dining plan to eat our way around the world......oh my goodness.....DELICIOUS!!

Some have piqued my interest enough to actually give a place a go, others have made me scratch certain places off the list forever, but none have made me want to actually schedule a trip around an event quite like the Food and Wine Festival at EPCOT.

I didn't have much interest until I started to read TR's from people who had attended. Photos of food do amazing things...

Until then, bear with my OCD-style of planning and presenting all those plans with you. Don’t you DARE deny you don’t love it. You wouldn’t be here otherwise. That or you have WAY too much time on your hands and really know how to waste company dollars doing online “research”. Or the only thing left on your to-do list is cleaning the toilet.

I thought being an obsessive planner was a prerequisite for joining the DISboards. And being willing to waste company time. :rolleyes1

Aside from F&W, I was also told that perhaps Artist’s Point “would treat me well”- but more on that later…

Oooh! C'mon, spill!

No, Really! I promise I'll get to the DIS soon, but the Tulip Festival is open and the sun is shining.

And I still have no operational computer to really do justice to replies. I have not forgotten you and it kills me to not be on your threads. Calling today about my laptop- hopefully tomorrow.... ??

As long as you promise us pictures of beautiful tulips, you are excused! :flower1:

Hey, you liked my post, but no tulips yet....:guilty:

:flower1::flower1::flower1::flower1:

(Trying to create my own little DIS garden here...)

I think your tulip show sounds awesome! I love tulips, they are my favourite flowers and I usuall get a bunch every Saturday at the local market during tulip season. It is so fun to get something different every week. This year I had purple, white and yellow with red rim already.mthe last ones were the type that is a bit frazzled on the edges, we call them parrot tulips here.

Can't wait for the weekend and my tulip shopping now... But I better get myself to work.

OK, this has truly been the most difficult (insert inappropriate swear word here) garden I've ever had to grow. Ever. 6 hours later of toil, peppered with a fair amount of expletives thrown in for good measure, and which did absolutely no good in hurrying up the frustrating process, here is a rather lovely garden , if I do say so myself. (Just one small caveat, I wan't able to do much post-processing because my editor is on the laptop- whose part is stuck in Wisconsin. I'm sure Wisconsin is a lovely place, but right now I hate you Wisconsin.)

Yesterday I dragged the kiddos and the camera out to get some sunshine, and came away with these. I realize this is not exactly the Flower and Garden show, but hey, I'll take what I can get until I can go for that one again. Meantime, enjoy with me some Perfectly Pretty Posies:

The End

Beautiful flowers... it certainly looks like spring!!!

And I say that as flurries have been falling outside the window all afternoon.

If it was here, they'd be dead flowers by now.

I am too, but Palm Springs... be still MY heart. :sigh: I have Graduation #1 (Pinning Ceremony) June 10th, so hopefully soon after that, something can be cooked up. :)

And yes, definitely July. Salishan/ Lincoln City/ Newport is such a lovely area. And I'll be more than ready for some beachy fun!

Food and Wine. Be still my heart. Love the $$ for the kiddos idea...even better, get a Disney gift card from Safeway instead of cash and get yourself some gas rewards while bying them. LOL!

I actually had thought of that too, and you absolutely right, that is the way to go on this! Win-sin is always a good thing!

Jeff and I did one culinary seminar this past fall and Mary Ellen and I have done a couple as well. They are loads of fun. But with an "in"? Even better!

It'll be fun to specifically plan this piece of the trip. So many options. All good ones. I need to do some research on when the schedule of events comes out so I can be ready to hop on it when the time is right.

You would adore AP, it's very Northwest to be sure so but is absolutely stunning on every level. Just lovely.

And that is the one things that has kept me away. I can go to Timberline or Multnomah and day of the year and be "in it", so haven't been so excited to repeat when I"m in the bubble. But comped food is a good thing no matter what the decor. No?

Love that you bought a bottle in my honor, between the part time no go for Andrew and Mikki missing deadlines (don't get me started on K and that whole siutation lol or we will need the whole bottle) I am sure you needed a lovely glass of wine!

Mistakes stink, but the magnitude of school mistakes seem to be on a scale all their own.

OH wow! I"m really excited FOR you! I am looking forward very much to this year's photos and stories! Please make sure you take a lot of pix so we can be in the know as next year's go-ers start to plan!

Good idea! At least until they blow it on souvenirs on day 1 and then get hungry walking around the lagoon and you hear it anyway. :rolleyes1

You must be a parent or something. (At 19, it morphs into, I'll pay you back as soon as I can...")

I have no idea what you're talking about. My work is caught up so I'm taking a mental break for a few minutes. :rolleyes1

Is that what they call those now-adays?

Ok, I'm definitely intrigued by that!

Free is always intriguing...

That would be a long, hard wait! But I know about timing trips so that they are best for everyone.

HAHA! Hope you got that work done! ;)

Do you have any photos you can share?? I would LOVE to see any of them you have! It's fun to dream ahead...

I didn't have much interest until I started to read TR's from people who had attended. Photos of food do amazing things...

They make me hungry.

Why thank you...

Well, ummm... yeah I guess it kind of is. And spending 6 hours trying to upload photos with a virus-ridden 2000 laptop and smartphone.

Oooh! C'mon, spill!

YOu know me better than that! ;)

As long as you promise us pictures of beautiful tulips, you are excused! :flower1:

I am exonerated, no?

I like them because of that variety. I think you'll enjoy the little garden here... :)

:cool1::cool1::cool1:

I know, you have computer troubles, so most likely it is not that easy....

You have no idea.

She posted some beautiful tulip pictures on FB.............hope she can share them here so you can enjoy them too! :flower3:

Thanks! :) It was a fun day. I didn't post the picture of the ginormous bratwurst and kraut I ate for lunch. Maybe I should have to rope the guys in.

Spring sprung super early here, which leads me to think we are headed for another huge fire season, which leads me to think that a couple term's of tuition may just be paid for. (Hubby can rake in an extra paycheck with a couple weeks work in a fire camp, which sure comes in handy now and then.)

So, not even daffodils yet there?? WOW! My roses are budding!
