I've read all the IRS forms + pubs and can't figure out the answer. I already have a bachelor's degree -- am now working on an associate's. I've NEVER claimed the Hope credit. I am technically in the first two years of my associate's degree -- so can I use the Hope credit? Or does the fact I already have a bachelor's from a different school count against me?

The Hope credit would save me a lot on taxes over taking Lifetime learning of tuition/fees deduction, so I'm trying to figure out if I'm eligible.

No, you cannot use the Hope Tax Credit. It is limited to the first two years of post-secondary education. However, you are still eligible to use the Lifetime Learning Credit.
